What a week it’s been! Good and bad, it’s been busy. On a bright note, my baby boy took his first steps this week. He’s turning one soon – where did the time go? To take my mind off my children growing up too quickly, let’s see what’s on TV tonight.
The Mentalist is on a special night and time tonight, and I think it’s going to make my Friday better. I really love the mystery and the humour on this show. Patrick Jane makes me laugh and get exasperated, all at the same time. On last night’s regularly scheduled episode, Jane agreed to help out FBI Agent Susan Darcy, and the team handled the murder of a young woman who was killed after meeting someone from an online chat room. The internet can be a scary place, can’t it?
On tonight’s episode, “Ruddy Cheeks,” Jane and the CBI try to narrow down the list of suspects when a terminally ill man is found murdered. Meanwhile, Cho is forced to face his demons.
Tune into CBS at 9/8c and see if Jane can solve the crime yet again. Learn where to find episodes online of The Mentalist @ Clicker.
Tonight, I’ll also be watching Grimm, Blue Bloods, and Spartacus: Vengeance.

I don’t normally get to recommend Grimm because Megan or Kyle grab it first. Luckily, I was able to snatch it from them this week. I simply adore this show. There’s so much to like…from the cast to the storylines to the creepy/scary/weird creatures. Nick is coming into his own as a Grimm, although he’s still new (and it shows). Monroe is just always so damn fun when he’s on screen. It’s not perfect… (I told Kyle & Megan this… My biggest gripe with the show is how they gloss over what happens when creatures are locked up. Ok, so a lot of them are just killed or whatever and never make it to jail. But as the perfect example… The spider woman who got put behind bars and just suddenly aged. How in the world did they explain that?! Yes, there’s a rapid aging disease, but nothing THAT rapid!) But I still love it. On the last episode, we learned that Aunt Marie had a boyfriend before she had to take care of Nick after his parents died – and he turned out to be a creature! Exciting stuff. It was a good episode, although I’m not sure how secure the coins are that Nick hid at the end!
On tonight’s episode, “Plumed Serpent,” while investigating an arson-related homicide with Hank, Nick finds himself in the heated world of Portland fire-dancing where he meets a woman who might just be too hot to handle. With Monroe’s help, Nick will have to find out if he can investigate the case without getting himself or those close to him burned. Danielle Panabaker (Shark) guest stars.

Spartacus: Vengeance continues to be the one stop shop for over-the-top sex, violence, and nudity on Friday nights. Last week, Ashur was able to prove his worth to Glaber by single-handedly taking down a group of his men (who knew Ashur was so good?!). He was put in charge of recruiting fighters for the Romans for their battle against Spartacus. Meanwhile, Spartacus failed at convincing Gannicus to join their cause, and Naevia and Crixus were finally reunited, however the traumatic events Naevia has been through prevented them from consummating their love.
While this show continues to deliver all of the action (however you take that word ;)) I could ask for, I am still struggling to accept that this Spartacus is the same character from the first season. The difference between the actors is still distracting for me. That said, I’m still enjoying the series and look forward to seeing how this eventual battle between the armies of Spartacus and Glaber will play out.
In tonight’s episode, “Sacramentum,” Spartacus and the rebels look to increase the size of their force by freeing and recruiting fighters held as slaves during foreign wars. Meanwhile, Lucretia recruits one of her husband’s ex-gladiators in an attempt to outmaneuver influential Romans.
See it tonight on Starz at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Spartacus: Vengeance @ Clicker.
Tonight, I’ll also be watching The Mentalist, Primetime: What Would You Do?, Grimm, and Portlandia.

I love Blue Bloods, but I have to say that I think a lot of times, Erin is my least favorite member of the family. Last week, I felt that way for most of the episode, until the end when we learned what she’d done to help out the boy who had murdered one of the thugs who hurt his mother and stole from his father and threatened him and his family. And then at the end, her conversation with Frank (Tom Selleck has to be one of the coolest men alive, I swear.) was really great. So I’m hoping that tonight’s episode won’t drive me nuts, because it’s Danny vs. Erin…so I know she’ll be getting a lot of screen time (although so will Danny, and I adore him. LOL).
On tonight’s episode, “Reagan V. Reagan,” as Erin prosecutes a woman accused of killing her husband, the defendant’s attorney is murdered and Danny is assigned to the investigation. When Danny is put on the stand to be questioned, things get heated between the brother and sister.
