If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/11/12

It’s the start of another week, and there’s some sports on this week, so it’s a bit of another slow week. There’s some good stuff on tonight, though, with some fan favorites, so check out what we think you should be watching. 🙂

If you have been a fan of Breakout Kings since day one especially, or if you just tuned in for the first time last week, the last ten minutes just HAD to have shocked you. I heard about it on Twitter before I got to see the episode, so I knew Charlie was going to die, but it still took me by surprise. Seeing the gang gathered around trying to save him (or yelling at Lloyd to save him – even though Lloyd doesn’t have a MEDICAL degree lol) was fantastic and so heart-wrenching. The case set up future episodes well, too, as the bad guy stole Charlie’s badge and will be posing as him and coming after Lloyd later this season. It was so great. I love this show because it mixes drama with some great lighter moments, but the premise is just so damn interesting. Using cons to catch cons. That’s not a new idea, but it’s the best I’ve ever seen it portrayed.

On tonight’s episode, “Round Two,” a gang of vicious criminals escapes prison via an underground tunnel. The Breakout Kings find themselves cooperating with the FBI after learning one of the gang members is actually an undercover agent. When it starts to look like the undercover agent may have been turned, the pressure is on for the Kings to hunt them down and discover the truth. All the while, the team must struggle with the loss of one of their own.

Check it out tonight on A&E at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Breakout Kings @ Clicker.

GCB premiered last night with delicious drama that was can’t miss TV. I spent most of the episode going between shocked by what they get away with and laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Amanda really was a bitch in high school, but she’s trying to be a better person. The problem with that is the girls she tormented back in the day, particularly Carlene, are not so ready to forgive and forget. It’s so true. You should be careful your first time around, because you can’t go back and undo how you treat people.

On tonight’s episode, “Hell Hath No Fury,” Gigi plans a luncheon to reintroduce Amanda to society. Meanwhile, Amanda worries that Laura isn’t being thought of as cute; Carlene plots revenge against Amanda for embarrassing her in church; and Sharon worries about Zach’s fidelity.

To see how bitchy women can get, tune in to ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of GCB @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching The Amazing Race, The Walking Dead, CSI: Miami, and Once Upon a Time.

Tonight, Bob’s Burgers returns with new episodes with its second season premiere. While I hated the original pilot of this show, it quickly grew to be one of my favorites in FOX’s Animation Domination lineup. I had forgotten just how hilarious this show was until I watched screeners of the first two episodes of the season last week.

Tonight’s episode had me laughing out loud. Though, I must admit I was already sold when I heard that it was going to pay homage to “The Goonies,” one of my favorite movies growing up. There is even a performance of “Taffy Butt,” sung by Cyndi Lauper herself, to the tune of her “Goonies R Good Enough” song! This show is all about the characters, and Bob and Linda are just as funny as ever. And with the kids, Louise is still scheming and running the show, Tina is still pining over Jimmy Jr., and Gene is still unknowingly saying the most inappropriate things.

In tonight’s episode, “The Belchies,” the kids enter an abandoned taffy factory to search for treasure, and Bob and Linda must find them before the building’s scheduled demolition.

See the season premiere tonight on FOX at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Bob’s Burgers @ Clicker.

Tonight, my ridiculously packed DVR lineup also includes The Amazing Race, The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time, Desperate Housewives, GCB, The Cleveland Show, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Worst Cooks in America, Breakout Kings, The Walking Dead, Luck, Life’s Too Short, and Shameless.

Last week, we left Mob Wives on Halloween, and Ramona and Drita had holiday-themed bashes planned on the same night. Renee and Junior continued to be haunted by their past during their couples counseling session. Renee and Carla were confused about the dueling parties and had a complicated decision to make about where their loyalties lied. Big Ang struggled with monkey business happening at her bar. While out partying, Junior got spooked when a guy mentioned having a connection to the police.

Tonight, the ladies head to the Poconos for a few days away filled with relaxation to get away from their daily pressures. Drita is left behind in order to help curb her temper with some anger management. Fun activities like horseback riding and fishing keep the girls out of trouble, but not for very long. Renee, who is increasingly troubled, confronts Ramona about her remark that Junior married her for her father. A peaceful dinner ends in a highly explosive battle between Ramona and Renee. As Ramona calls Drita’s loyalty into question, Carla is forced to defend her friend as best she can.

Watch VH1 at 8/7c for all the fistacuffs! Learn where to find episodes online of Mob Wives @ Clicker.

I am also watching The Amazing Race, Worst Cooks In America, and GCB tonight!

There are some shows that no matter what happens, it makes me cry every damn time. Lifetime’s Coming Home is one of those shows. I’ve always loved seeing videos of military men and women returning home after being overseas. So this show takes that premise and adds in letting us get to know their families and friends. The host, Matt Rogers, was a former contestant on American Idol, and I liked him on there, too. He really seems to care about the families and the soldiers themselves. So I’m really glad that tonight is the season premiere.

On tonight’s premiere, “Raider Reunion,” an Oakland Raiders fan gets the chance to appear mid-field during half-time.

See it tonight on Lifetime at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Coming Home @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Cupcake Wars, Worst Cooks in America, CSI: Miami, & Restaurant Stakeout.

With Breakout Kings, I think the death would have been even more shocking if they had waited one more week to allow us to get more emotionally reinvested in the character–or, even better, did this at the end of last season when we had 13 episode straight to get to know Charlie. Honestly, it had been so long since the last season that it took me a while just to remember who was who and what was going on in the show, and the whole episode was about him possibly leaving anyway so it really didn’t have as much impact as it could have.

Yeah, you might be right, but still…it surprised me. 🙂
