Ashley Judd is one of my favorite movie actors. I always love the action/adventure/mystery movies she does, so when I heard about her new show, Missing, I was thrilled. It sounds a lot like it could have come straight out of one of her movies. Here’s more about it, in case you haven’t heard the premise behind the show. At 8 years old, Michael watched as his father, CIA Agent Paul Winstone, was murdered. Now 10 years later, Paul’s wife, Becca, is faced with the reality of her son growing up. When Michael is afforded the opportunity to study abroad, his mother reluctantly agrees it’s time to let him go. Just a few weeks into his trip, Michael disappears, and Becca immediately suspects foul play. When she arrives in Rome, she begins piecing together the clues left behind. It isn’t long before the kidnappers realize they’ve picked a fight with the wrong woman. Becca Winstone has a secret of her own – before Paul’s death, she was also a lethal CIA Agent. But if she wants to find her son alive, Becca will have to rely on old friends and reopen old wounds. Her resourcefulness, skill, and determination will be put to the test – but a mother’s love knows no limits. The show stars Ashley Judd (Double Jeopardy, Kiss the Girls) as Becca Winstone, Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) as Paul Winstone, Cliff Curtis (Trauma) as Dax, Adriano Giannini (Oceans Twelve) as Giancarlo, Nick Eversman (Cinema Verite) as Michael Winstone, and Tereza Voriskova (Borgia) as Oksana.

On tonight’s episode, Becca Winstone learns that her son disappears while studying abroad, and it’s a race against time when she travels to Europe to track him down. Keith Carradine (Dexter, Complete Savages, Criminal Minds) & Aunjanue Ellis (The Mentalist) guest star in the pilot.

Grey’s Anatomy is finally returning this week with new episodes. It’s been too long. When we last left our medical soap opera – come on, that’s the truth these days – we had Richard taking care of a worsening Adele, Alex teaching Lexie about the preemies, and Cristina worried that Owen was cheating. We also had Avery needing to get some, Derek learning how to do Zola’s hair, and Teddy still hating Owen. It was a mess of emotions and drama, just the way I like it. Personally, I get why Teddy is pissed at Owen. She’s still grieving. It may take some time. As far as Adele goes, that poor woman needs to go into a nursing home for hers and everyone else’s safety.

On tonight’s new episode, “One Step Too Far,” Derek encourages a hesitant Meredith to work with him again in neurology; Jackson’s mother, Catherine Avery, returns to Seattle Grace with a urology fellow and develops an interest in Richard; and Cristina becomes increasingly suspicious of Owen’s every move. Meanwhile, Alex tries to deny the fact that Morgan may be falling for him. Summer Glau guest stars.

To see this mess unfold, tune in to ABC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Grey’s Anatomy @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle, American Idol, Missing, Community, and Awake.

Tonight, the Food Network’s over-the-top cooking competition show, Sweet Genius, returns for a second season. Pastry chef Ron Ben-Israel serves as judge, jury, and executioner as four pastry chefs try to impress him with their unique desserts in this Chopped-like series. In each of the three rounds, Chef Ron will give the contestants their required ingredients and inspiration, and then he must determine which chef’s work is not the mark of a “Sweet Genius,” eliminating him from the competition. Last season, the three rounds were Chocolate, Frozen, and Cake. This year, the frozen round has been replaced by a round where the chefs must create a candy. While this should provide some new challenges and variety for the series, I would have rather seen them keep the frozen round and replace one of the others. I’m looking forward to another season of odd inspirations and crazy desserts. It’s always fun watching the terror in the contestants’ eyes as the eccentric Chef Ron presses his giant button, sending new required ingredients down the conveyor belt with time almost up.

In tonight’s episode, “Golden Genius,” the pastry chefs make chocolaty treats that incorporate a breakfast treat and a fall snack food. In the second round, they make candy using dehydrated space food and a tropical melon. And lastly, a spicy drink mix and a strange citrus fruit are featured ingredients when the chefs bake cakes.

Check out the season premiere tonight on Food Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Sweet Genius @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Missing, Grey’s Anatomy, Community, 30 Rock, The Office, Up All Night, Awake, and Private Practice.
