If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/25/12

A year ago today, I became a mom for the second time. I held in my arms the most adorable, mischievous, quizzical, and sweet little boy, Pherson. Happy 1st Birthday, Pherson. The world became a brighter and louder place the moment you were born. 🙂

Now that I’ve gushed about my precious boy, let’s see what you should be watching on television tonight, shall we?

Every week, GCB gets a little bit nuttier, and I have been soaking up every delicious second of it. Last week, we watched as Carlene and her husband, Ripp, had marital issues – brought on by Ripp’s obsession on finding the money that Bill stole from him. We also watched Cricket get her “work out” by the tae kwon do instructor (he was super hot) and then later learned what a toll this faux marriage takes on her psyche. We also watched as Amanda is working on getting past her issues with Bill, but we also got a hint that he may actually be alive. Eek! I’m looking forward to Amanda and Carlene going head to head more, because I love the crazy bitchy behaviour.

On tonight’s episode, “A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing,” Carlene’s Uncle Burl returns to town with his wife, Bitsy, and Gigi promises to throw them a homecoming party requiring guests to come dressed as their favorite Texan. Meanwhile, Blake recruits Amanda to consult for Cricket and Blake’s denim line, Pastor Tudor counsels Sharon and Zack during their rough patch – resulting in Sharon’s working at the church and Zach’s taking over Sharon’s duties at home – and Heather is after Burl’s 500 acres of land for her client, Andrew.

To watch this insane bitchy drama and have a good laugh, tune in to ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of GCB @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching and DVRing The Amazing Race, Once Upon a Time, The Good Wife, Harry’s Law, Desperate Housewives, and CSI: Miami.

Breakout Kings has been great this season. I have to say I was a little disappointed last week, though. Jules was kidnapped, but then the team found her alone in the van because the kidnappers just let her go. Hrmph. Kind of a dissatisfying way to end what could have been a dramatic kidnapping. Did I want her dead? No, of course not. But to just be let go? It was a way to get them all out office so the bad guys could get in and take the guy Travis, who was there Lloyd. In the end, they were able to get the big bad guy they were after and turned him over to other Marshals. Something else is going on with Jules. Lloyd offered to help her, but she didn’t have time to open up to him. Maybe more this week? *puzzling* And then, of course, we have Erica macking on the guy on the second floor… Is anyone else worried about him being a bad guy? Hmm.

On tonight’s episode, “Cruz Control,” following a very clever breakout from the motor pool, the escapee takes off on a killing spree with reckless abandon until Lloyd realizes that, driven by his own fatal diagnosis, he is checking off a killing bucket list. He thinks of himself as an avenging angel, and it’s up to the team to stop him and put an end to the violence.

Check it out tonight on A&E at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Breakout Kings @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching Cupcake Wars, Worst Cooks in America, Coming Home, CSI: Miami, & Unchained Reaction.

After almost a year and a half (525 days to be exact), Mad Men finally returns tonight for its fifth season. When we last left the show, Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce was on the verge of bankruptcy. Don tried to spin the loss of a major client by making a public statement that they were quitting tobacco. In the season finale, Don proposed to his secretary, Megan. Meanwhile, Don’s secret girlfriend, Faye, who knows about his secret past, was forced to resign, taking the blame for the loss of the tobacco account. She found out about the engagement when Don broke up with her over the phone. Finally, Joan got pregnant by Roger Sterling and decided to keep the baby, telling her husband it was his and telling Roger she got an abortion.

Without Mad Men paving the way, we probably wouldn’t have a lot of the other great AMC original dramas we have today. While I certainly wouldn’t rate Mad Men in the same rank as my must-see AMC shows such as Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead, I still find this show quite enjoyable to watch (albeit a bit slow at times). The show looks great and really does a great job of recreating an era. I’m looking forward to spending another season with the gang at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.

In tonight’s two-hour season premiere, “A Little Kiss,” Don is greeted with a surprise, Roger and Pete clash, and Joan has a run-in with a houseguest.

See it tonight on AMC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Mad Men @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching The Amazing Race, The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time, Desperate Housewives, GCB, The Cleveland Show, Bob’s Burgers, Worst Cooks in America, Breakout Kings, Unchained Reaction, and Life’s Too Short.

On the last Mob Wives episode, the shit hit the fan! During a night out in the Poconos, an all out Staten Island-type brawl went down as Renee called in some backup. Renee eventually stormed out and headed back to Staten Island, while Carla was left alone with “Team Karen” as the night fueled on. The Poconos adventure ended when the ladies hit up a pistol range as they shot their trouble away. Meanwhile, back in Staten Island, Drita had landed a modeling gig and decided to recruit Big Ang for a day of spray tanning. Ramona dealt with the realities of prison, while Carla’s husband Joe was released as a free man to come home.

Tonight on a new episode, Carla helps Drita step into the world of dating normal men, while Big Ang questions her relationship with her estranged average husband. Also, Renee breaks under the pressure of Junior’s impending return to prison. She also receives some highly shocking news, and her entire world starts to crumble. Just when she thinks that things couldn’t get any worse, another horrifying revelation leaves her completely shattered.

Tune in to VH1 at 8/7c for the heartbreak! Learn where to find episodes online of Mob Wives @ Clicker.

This evening, I will also be watching The Amazing Race, The Apprentice, Mad Men, and Worst Cooks in America!
