If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/1/12

I hope everyone has had a good weekend so far! Mine started early on Friday, when I got to meet 2 friends that I’ve known for a few years online when they brought their daughters to Kansas City to the American Girl store and to visit me! It was such a blast, even though they were only here for a couple of hours. Next time, they’ll leave the kids at home and come down for much longer. We had a lot of fun just talking books and writers and fanfiction, which is how we all met. Then Saturday, I slept a good portion of the afternoon, so it was nice and relaxing! LOL Anyway, some good stuff on tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching.

It’s been a pretty good season of Worst Cooks in America. I’m actually not TOO unhappy with the final two. Kelli, on Anne’s team, isn’t my favorite, but then…I didn’t like quite a few on her team, so… lol Kelli is a bit of a worry wart and spaz in the kitchen. She tends to get flustered easily, which is why I’m not her biggest fan. But she has also done well on several challenges, so she might do ok in the finale. On Bobby’s team, I was going to be ok with either Melissa, who was my personal favorite among all the contestants, and Vinnie, who was one of my other favorites. I wish it could have been the two of them in the final two, but they were both on Bobby’s team, so unfortunately, one of them had to go last week. Hopefully Vinnie can learn to manage his time. If he does that, he should win easily.

On tonight’s episode, “Worst to First: The Final Battle,” the two reminaing recruits are challenged to prepare a three-course meal and serve it in New York City’s David Burke Kitchen to three culinary experts, and the winner of the $25,000 grand prize will be determined based on the meal.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching and DVRing Cupcake Wars, Iron Chef America, Breakout Kings, Coming Home, & Unchained Reaction.

If you haven’t been watching GCB, then you are sincerely missing out. What could be better than watching some Texan women get their drama on? Last week, we watched as Amanda and Blake’s friendship got closer, much to Cricket’s anger. She played them all, but in the end, Amanda stepped down and let Cricket keep her place as Blake’s best friend. She really isn’t the evil bitch everyone thinks she is. We saw Carlene stand up to her husband, and the best moment was Sharon standing up to Zach – long overdue. There was some intense foreshadowing with the preacher and Sharon – will she be unfaithful? That would make a great story line.

On tonight’s episode, “Forbidden Fruit,” Heather brings Sheryl Crow to perform at the annual church fundraiser with a little help from her client and new love interest, Andrew, but it’s Gigi who steals the show with Burl, while Carlene and Amanda find another reason to disagree wth each other.

To live vicariously through someone else’s drama, tune in to ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of GCB @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Once Upon a Time and Desperate Housewives.

I can’t wait for tonight’s second season premiere of Game of Thrones. When we last left Westeros, the newly crowned King Joffrey had ordered Ned Stark to be beheaded. Robb Stark was leading his army to take on the Lannister forces, with Jaime Lannister as his prisoner. Tywin was also preparing his side for battle and the rescue of his son. Meanwhile, Tyrion was sent to serve as the Hand of the King to help control Joffrey, and Arya Stark was shipped off into hiding, pretending to be a boy. Also, Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch headed out beyond The Wall to see what was out there and to find Benjen Stark. The season ended with the Daenerys rising from the ashes of her husband’s funeral pyre with three baby dragons.

When last season began, the main stumbling block for me was just getting a handle on all of the names and relationships and the history of and alliances amongst the Seven Kingdoms. I have since watched the first season several times over, and each time find something new. (Note: HBO has an online 22-minute season 1 recap special for new viewers or those who just need a refresher.) This series is so visually stunning, and the story is very interesting – with twists and turns and allegiances that are constantly changing. One thing I love about this show is that no one is ever safe – I mean, who kills off their main star during the first season?! I am looking forward to the start of another all-new season, and watching the epic battle for the Iron Throne play out. Now if only someone would kill that brat Joffrey!

In tonight’s episode, “The North Remembers,” Robb Stark continues his campaign against the Lannisters, and Tyrion tries to rein in the impulsive Joffrey in King’s Landing. Meanwhile, Stannis Baratheon sets out to claim his deceased brother’s throne, and Daenerys and the khalasar try to survive in the Red Waste.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Once Upon a Time, Desperate Housewives, GCB, The Cleveland Show, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Breakout Kings, the season premiere of The Killing, and the season finales of Shameless and Worst Cooks in America.

On Mob Wives last week, Carla helped Drita step into the world of dating normal men during some speed dating – but the two ended up failing miserably. Drita’s attempt at dating a normal guy, however, did make Big Ang question her relationship with her estranged husband. Renee had a complete melt down when Junior decided to turn himself in for his impending return to prison. She also received some seriously shocking news when she called her father and overheard him being arrested. Renee’s world seemed to be crumbling around her and fast, and the effects it was having on her were not pretty.

On tonight’s episode, just as Renee tries to swallow the heinously bitter pill of losing both Junior and her father to jail, some explosive rumors surrounding Junior’s surrender are spreading throughout the streets of Staten Island. Meanwhile, Drita plans a visit to see Lee in prison, and Big Ang tries to cheer Renee up by taking her to an over-the-top drag show. The laughter, though, quickly dies down when a shocking internet story shares the truth about Junior, which ultimately forever changes life as Renee and her friends knew it – the result of the ultimate and ruthless betrayal.

Watch all the drama unfold tonight on VH1 at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Mob Wives @ Clicker.

This evening, I’ll also be watching The Amazing Race, Worst Cooks in America, GCB, and The Apprentice.
