If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/25/12

Yesterday, the Comic-Con folks finally opened up application/registration for press. So I have been on a mad dash to gather validation materials in order to mail them out today. I’m really looking forward to Comic-Con again this year, and I can’t believe it’s less than three months away! I have already scheduled my flight, reserved my hotel, and paid for a badge, but I’ve love to qualify for press and get that badge money refunded. But enough about SDCC. Here’s what we suggest you check out on TV tonight.

I have already seen tonight’s two premiere episodes of the new Syfy channel game show, Total Blackout. This show is so much fun and is hosted by Jaleel White (Family Matters & Dancing with the Stars), who did a press Q&A last week. Each episode puts four contestants’ fears to the test as they are asked to identify items and perform tasks in total darkness. In the first round, the contests try to identify objects in tanks simply by touching them. However, in total darkness, even everyday objects become scream-worthy. The way their minds seem to picture the worst yields some pretty comical results! Other rounds have the contestants identifying objects by taste or smell, or trying to maneuver obstacle courses.

While I find this show hilarious to watch, I could never be a contestant. For the Syfy press kit, they sent a box to simulate the initial round’s challenge – you were supposed to reach in and try to identify the object. Even though I knew there would be nothing living in the box, I still freaked out – especially when touching the gummy frogs that were stuck to the bottom!

Tonight’s first episode, “Entering the Darkness,” seems like what a typical episode of the series will be like. However, the second episode of the night, “2 Heads are Blinder than 1,” features couples and was so hilarious, it made me wish every episode featured couples.

Check out the premiere tonight on Syfy at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Total Blackout @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Survivor, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23, Revenge, Best Friends Forever, and Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis.

Don’t Trust The B—- in Apt 23 went totally awkward last week! June decided to dip her toes back into the dating pool, and Chloe took it upon herself to June up without her consent. June actually had a great time with her potential mate – that is, until Chloe revealed that he was actually her father. Then there was the very awkward encounter as well with Chloe’s mother, who still isn’t over her ex…oh, and she is wheelchair bound! Also, James decided to teach an acting class, but all the participants wanted was to ask him questions about Dawson’s Creek or have him repeat lines from the show.

On tonight’s episode, “Parent Trap…” type-A June is operating at her highest potential when she lands a very demanding internship, which has her juggling two jobs and adding on even more responsibilities. She meets her match when she’s tasked with cleaning up one of Chloe’s incredibly irresponsible and half-baked ideas. Meanwhile, James is stoked to land a classic body-swap movie that’s co-starring the super talented Kiernan Shipka (from Mad Men), and he dives head first into the research.

See what scheme Chloe is into next at 9:30/8:30c on ABC! Learn where to find episodes online of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23 @ Clicker.

Last week’s episodes of Hot in Cleveland & Happily Divorced were fantastic. First, the ladies of Hot in Cleveland… Victoria designed a new high-heeled shoe, but when she, Joy, and Melanie tried to walk, they realized there was ZERO arch support, so they were too painful to even stand. Since it was a charity fashion show for women in wheelchairs who still wanted to be fashionable, Victoria decided to make the best of it and say her shoes were designed to NEVER be walked on – specifically for the lady in the wheelchair. Of course, that offended the actual lady in the wheelchair. *laugh* And then Joy… Joy got kissed by a guy at the bar (Kevin Nealon, who is guest starring again tonight), and it turned out that he was dying and that was one of the things on his bucket list. They went out, and Joy realized she was beginning to develop feelings for him. He offered to walk away, since it wasn’t fair to her, but she realized she didn’t want that. It is a sweet storyline, and I hope it continues that way. Then on Happily Divorced, Fran’s parents fought and her mother moved out and in with her and Peter. After a bunch of craziness, her mother moved back home, but boy, her dad relished the freedom while he had it! lol

On tonight’s episode of Hot in Cleveland, “Bye George, I Think He’s Got It!” Joy accepts her dying boyfriend’s marriage proposal but has reservations. Billionaire Artie Firestone wants a makeover from Melanie and Victoria to make him more appealing to women. Elka’s twin sister returns to Cleveland for a visit. Kevin Nealon, Jon Lovitz, & Joan Rivers guest star.

Then on tonight’s episode of Happily Divorced, “Adventure Man,” when Fran believes that a rugged, outdoorsy man named Adam is her soul mate after she meets him at a special singles only party, Peter and her family become skeptical of their love at first sight. However, a weekend camping trip with him gives Fran the chance to prove them wrong… or right. John Schneider (Smallville) & Esther (Fran Drescher’s dog) guest star.

See them tonight on TV Land at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hot in Cleveland & Happily Divorced @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, Restaurant: Impossible, Law & Order: SVU, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23, and the series premiere of Total Blackout.

Last week, Revenge left us with our jaws on the floor. Daniel’s imprisonment sent Victoria into depths that no one thought possible – hiring someone to beat Daniel up in jail in order to get him on house arrest. A surprising return of a past love in the form of Dominik (guest star James Purefoy) provided a nice distraction for Victoria, but it also proved to be somewhat of a destructive one, as well. Jack became a suspect in Tyler’s murder, but after Declan gave an interview with Treadwell, it cleared Jack’s name but cancelled out all of Charlotte’s credibility. Also, Jack took his desperate search for Amanda to Canada and he came back with a shocking discovery.

On tonight’s new episode, “Justice,” whether or not she intended it to happen, Victoria’s pawns become caught in the middle of an insidious cover-up, and they have to pay the price when Emily discovers the identity of the mysterious man who murdered her father. Meanwhile, Declan’s testimony marks the begging of the end for his relationship with self-destructive Charlotte.

Watch ABC at 10/9c for a haunting new episode. Learn where to find episodes online of Revenge @ Clicker.

Tonight, I am also watching The Middle, Suburgatory, and Modern Family.
