If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/8/12

Happy Tuesday! We’re well into the new week of work, school, and TV. I hope you’re having a good week all around. Some good stuff on tonight, so let’s see what we think you should be watching!

Jenny’s Choice #1

One of my favorite shows every week is NCIS: LA. I love the cases, but what I really love the most of the chemistry between the entire cast. Each partnership – Sam/Callen, Deeks/Kensi, & Eric/Nell – has its own unique “thing” that makes it fun to watch. And overseeing the entire group is one of my favorite characters on TV – Ms. Hetty Lange. She’s the perfect blend of loving mother figure, friend, and hard taskmaster. Last week was the wrap-up of the cross-over with Hawaii Five-0. It was good, but I’m glad to be getting back to our normal group this week. And I have to say that I’ve been looking forward to this story ever since I heard about it. LOL

On tonight’s episode, “Neighborhood Watch,” Kensi and Deeks are sent undercover as married couple Melissa and Justin when evidence points to a Russian sleeper cell in a suburban neighborhood.

Kyle’s Choice

Tonight is the season finale of New Girl. Last week, Jess was trying to get over her break-up with Russell, when Paul returned on the scene. After a bit of a backslide, she helped Paul come clean about their relationship and propose to his new girlfriend, an “Asian Jess.” Meanwhile, Winston returned from a wild drunken night with a pierced ear. And Schmidt broke his penis, so Cece tried everything to keep him from getting aroused – including dressing in sweats and taking him to meet her grandmother.

It was fun to see Justin Long back this week (though he will always be Warren Cheswick from Ed to me). While New Girl isn’t my favorite of the current crop of hang-out sitcoms, I think it has a great concept and had some funny characters/situations over the course of this first season – that Russian model that Schmidt dated two weeks ago was comedy platinum! Tonight, the first season comes to an end, and I’m interested to see if they are going to try to shake up any of the characters or relationships, leaving us with a cliffhanger for the second season.

In tonight’s episode, “See Ya,” one of the roommates decides to move out of the loft. Meanwhile, Winston faces his fear of the dark when the gang makes an unexpected trip to the desert, and Schmidt and Cece’s relationship reaches a turning point.

See it tonight on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of New Girl @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Last Man Standing, Cougar Town, The Voice, Glee, The L.A. Complex, and Chopped.

Lisa’s Choice

Glee amp’d up the drama last week with a really deep storyline when Coach Bieste showed up to school with a shiner. After a snarky remark involving a reference to domestic violence, Coach Roz decides to teach Santana and her underlings Tina, Brittany, Mercedes, and Sugar a lesson. The girls are tasked with singing and performing a song that spoke out against domestic violence. Unfortunately, they decided to sing “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago, and that didn’t go over well with Coach Roz or Coach Sue. When they realized that the topic was nothing to laugh about and that it was something that actually was effecting Coach Bieste, they realized the error of their ways. The guys tried to rally together in order to help Puck cram for his history test, which he needed to pass or else he wouldn’t graduate. After staying up all night and helping Puck try to retain the information in a song and fun-filled fashion, ultimately Puck ended up flunking the test. Both Rachel and Kurt had to face their ultimate challenge, auditioning for NYADA. Kurt decided on a song from Phantom of the Opera, but when faced with the admissions administrator, Carmen Tibadeaux (guest star Whoopi Goldberg), he decicded to take on a song from Man From Oz instead, and it worked in his favor. Rachel settled on the safe choice of “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” but after only a few bars, she choked and couldn’t remember the lyrics. Broken and in tears, she felt like her dream of making it in New York was crushed.

On tonight’s episode, it’s “Prom-asaurus!” Brittany goes into high gear as class president to spearhead the prom. Then, after prom king and queen nominations are announced, the kids kick into campaign mode, and some of the outcasts organize a rival celebration.

Don’t miss a moment of the second to last episode of the season. Get your Gleek on at 8/7c on FOX! Learn where to find episodes online of Glee @ Clicker.

Tonight, I am also watching The Voice, New Girl, Cougar Town, and The L.A. Complex!

Jenny’s Choice #2

For several episodes of NCIS, we’ve been dealing with a terrorist targeting Navy ships and what not. Last week, the team finally learned the man they believe to be behind it all – played by The West Wing’s Richard Schiff. It’s been an interesting storyline, but I’m ready for it to wrap up. I want to see the catch the guy and can’t wait to see how they do that. Plus, Jimmy’s upcoming wedding gets more play tonight. That should be fun… lol

On tonight’s episode, “Up in Smoke,” the NCIS team analyzes what secrets could be in the hands of a terrorist targeting the Navy when a high-tech bug is found inside a probationary agent’s tooth. Meanwhile, the festivities for Jimmy Palmer’s upcoming wedding continue with the bachelor party. Jamie Lee Curtis & Richard Schiff guest star.

See it tonight on CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing Cougar Town, Chopped, No Kitchen Required, & the season finales of Unforgettable & Last Man Standing.
