If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/29/12

For those that had Monday off, today is the first day back at work. I hope your “Monday” goes better than Mondays have a tendency to do. 😉 There’s some good stuff on tonight, so let’s see what we think you should be watching!

All season, we’ve been leading up to a wedding on Cougar Town, and tonight’s 1-hour season finale is all about Jules and Grayson and their impending nuptials. I’ve seen the 2-part episode and it’s one of my favorites of the season. We also recently saw Travis wrestle with his feelings for Laurie, and that comes back into play again in a fun and interesting way. Believe me, if you’re a fan of this great show, don’t miss tonight’s finale. And remember…the show moves to TBS next season! 🙂

On tonight’s episodes, “My Life/Your World,” when Grayson complains that he’s living the movie “Groundhog Day” because the gang shows up at the same time every day at Jules’ house, Jules asks for a Groundhog Day-themed bachelorette party so that Ellie and Laurie can explain the movie to her. Then, fed up with the lack of privacy, Grayson convinces Jules to elope to Napa…but the cul de sac crew happily tags along. David Arquette (star Courtney Cox’s ex-husband) guest stars as a hotel concierge who’ll go to great (and possibly illegal) lengths to help the wine wedding go off without a hitch.

Laugh & cry tonight on ABC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Cougar Town @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, Hatfields & McCoys, Chopped, No Kitchen Required, & the season premeire of HGTV Design Star.

Tonight, I’m suggesting something I don’t usually suggest: crazy reality TV! *gasp* The CW is premiering The Catalina tonight, and it seems like one of those shows that you’re going to groan about watching but won’t be able to turn away from.

It’s centered on the young, wild staff of The Catalina hotel in Miami’s South Beach. They work hard during the day and let loose at night. We’ll follow the group as they balance their relationships with each other while still making the guests feel welcome. There will be drama, because when hot, young people get together, there’s bound to be tension of all sorts! Watch as these amusing kaleidoscope of people get together to make an hour of fun, stress-free television.

On tonight’s season premiere, “Spring Breakdown,” when the hotel hosts a spring break pool party, it takes an unexpected turn when the clouds come rolling in. Sparks fly between bartenders and former flames Kris and Nancy. Meanwhile, restaurant general manager Morgan is taken out of the kitchen and competes on behalf of the hotel in a beach volleyball tournament.

To see if this spicy summer show is for you, tune in to The CW at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Catalina @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching The L.A. Complex and America’s Got Talent.

Tonight, Comedy Central kicks off the third season of its sitcom Workaholics. The series follows three coworkers/housemates/friends who are freshly out of college, working for a telemarketing company. However, they still haven’t lost that college partying mentality. These slackers would rather do anything than actually work – and they always seem to find some sort of crazy, humorous diversion.

The series is created and written by its stars, Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, and Anders Holm, who were all part of the sketch-comedy group Mail Order Comedy. This off-screen relationship really helps to lend authenticity and a naturalness to the characters’ friendship. It also helps to ground the often absurd adventures these three get up to. It’s a wonder why these guys haven’t been fired yet!

In tonight’s episode, “The Business Trip,” the guys’ first LSD experience coincides with a business trip.

See it tonight on Comedy Central at 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Workaholics @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Cougar Town, Chopped, and Hatfields & McCoys.
