If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/3/12

Welcome to summer TV! Tonight is the first night of a very busy week, and I’m actually pretty darn happy about that. Sure, the break was nice, but there are so many shows I’m looking forward to that I’m excited about the new season. 😀 So what’s on tonight that we think you should be watching? Read on to find out!

It’s back, it’s back! The Glades has been one of my favorite shows since episode one, and tonight is the season 3 premiere. Last season ended on a high note for Jim and Callie. She almost left town to do a job interview out of state, but just before getting on the plane, she realized she didn’t want to leave him before giving their relationship a real shot. That was after Callie had been held hostage at the hospital, so it was a great season finale. I love this show because it’s such a great mix of the personal relationships and the cop show. Jim (played by the adorable Aussie, Matt Passmore) is sarcastic, funny, and just very very good at his job. He’s honestly one of my favorite characters on TV. I’m so excited the show is back tonight. If you haven’t seen The Glades before, don’t miss tonight’s premiere. You won’t be sorry.

On tonight’s episode, “Close Encounters,” when Jim and Carlos investigate the death of a millionaire who bequeathed all his wealth to an organization of UFO enthusiasts, the organization’s leader accuses the FDLE of covering up the true cause of death: an alien abduction. Meanwhile, Jim and Callie’s relationship heats up, but Callie’s job search to keep her in Palm Glade falters.

Check it out tonight on A&E at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Glades @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Cupcake Wars, Food Network Star, the Head Games series premiere on Discovery, Iron Chef America, & the Longmire series premiere on A&E.

I couldn’t be more excited if it was Christmas, because tonight, one of my favorite shows returns: Teen Wolf. For those of you who thought this was just another teeny bopper show, you couldn’t be more wrong. It contains violence, mystery, suspense, romance, and tons of humor. My favorite character by far is the adorable Stiles (Dylan O’Brien), who is the ultimate friend to Scott (Tyler Posey) on his journey to become a good werewolf. There is also the incredibly sexy Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), who when we last saw him at the end of season one had just become the Alpha werewolf. It’s going to be an interesting season premiere, with Derek as Alpha, Allison’s werewolf-hunting family aware of Scott, and so much more drama to be explained.

On tonight’s premiere, “Omega,” after Lydia’s mysterious disappearance from the local hospital, the concerned hunters and werewolves quickly enter a search for her in an attempt to save the missing young woman from what they fear she may have already become.

Get your fill of sexy werewolves tonight at 11/10c on MTV. Learn where to find episodes online of Teen Wolf @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Glades, Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, and Secret Millionaire.

Tonight, the second season of Game of Thrones comes to an end. Last week’s episode solely concentrated on the massive battle of Blackwater—Stannis Baratheon’s attempt to take King’s Landing. First, Tyrion used a ship leaking Wildfire to take out most of Stannis’s fleet. Then, “The Hound” led the ground assault, but the Baratheon army proved to be too much, and they retreated back behind the gates. Meanwhile, Cersei feared for her son’s life and told him to retreat to his own quarters—to which Joffrey happily jumped at the chance. After their King abandoned them, the army was about ready to quit, but Tyrion stepped up, riled the troops, and led them through a secret passage so they could flank and surprise the Baratheon army. For a while, the Lannister army was winning, but just when it looked like things were going to take a turn for the worse, Tywin showed up with more forces to ensure a Lannister victory.

What I loved about this episode—besides the epic battle scenes—was how it really showed how bad of a king Joffrey really is and how great of a king either Tyrion or Stannis would be. Tyrion inspired the troops and personally led them into battle, fighting alongside them. Stannis did the same, and he was even the first one up the ladder. These two guys who would love the job of king are fighting with honor. Meanwhile, Joffrey—the one who has the job—is practically in tears, taking any excuse he can to keep far from the battle and out of harm’s way. My only disappointment with the episode was that Stannis didn’t get to kill that brat Joffrey! 🙂 Last week, we didn’t find out anything new in any of the Stark, Targaryen, Greyjoy, or Snow storylines. So I’m interested to see what they will resolve and what they set up for next season tonight.

In tonight’s episode, “Valar Morghulis,” Luwin has advice for Theon as he calls his men to action. Meanwhile, Arya gets a gift from Jaqen; Jon proves his worth to Qhorin; Daenerys finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings; and Brienne silences Jaime.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Food Network Star, The Glades, Longmire, Mythbusters, Head Games, Drop Dead Diva, The 2012 MTV Movie Awards, Teen Wolf, Veep, and The Big C. (Busy Sundays are back!)
