If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/5/12

It certainly seems like summer has arrived… The temperatures are climbing, great summer TV has begun, and my kid is home (or at least…in the neighborhood! lol) all day. If you need to relax in the air conditioning or just want a chance to hang out in front of the TV, we have three good reasons why you should tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching.

Last season, Rizzoli & Isles left us with kind of a major cliffhanger. Jane told her FBI agent love interest about Maura’s father. Maura went undercover to try to catch the bad guy. Maura’s mob daddy shot the guy before he could hurt her. Jane pointed her gun at mob daddy and told him to drop the weapon. When he raised his gun, seeming like he was going to shoot Jane, Agent Dean, who had surreptitiously followed Jane there, shot him, knocking him back off the platform he was on. So now Maura is mad at Jane, mob daddy is possibly dead or dying, and I bet Jane feels a bit betrayed by secret lover Gabriel Dean. And let’s not forget that shortly before that, Maura’s mother was run down in the street and was in the hospital.

I’ve seen the premiere episode and it pretty much picks up from where the season finale ended. I don’t want to spoil, but I will say if you watched the finale, you won’t want to miss the season premiere. Our favorite weasely ME that isn’t anywhere near as good as Maura is filling in while Maura is off for personal reasons, and he is definitely being himself, which means he’s a bumbling idiot, really. I love this show and I’m so glad it’s back!

On tonight’s episode, “What Doesn’t Kill You,” Jane and Maura’s friendship suffers following the shooting of Maura’s biological father, gangster Paddy Doyle. Jane also finds herself in the middle of an Internal Affairs investigation. And her relationship with Agent Dean is exposed.

Don’t miss it tonight on TNT at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Rizzoli & Isles @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, HGTV Design Star, Chopped, the season premiere of Franklin & Bash, & the season finale of No Kitchen Required.

Last night, Hell’s Kitchen premiered with an intense episode where we met the top 18 chefs. They are an odd and messed up bunch of people, aren’t they? I was so happy when Tavon went home, although Clemenza is a health hazard and show go home soon, too. This is going to be an intense season, I can just tell!

On tonight’s episode, “17 Chefs Compete,” Chef Ramsay pits the women against the men in another intense challenge and demanding dinner service. While the winning team sails off to enjoy their good work, the losing team is left behind to fulfill the drab duties.

To see if they can handle the heat, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hell’s Kitchen @ Clicker.

Tonight, Jane By Design returns for the final eight episodes of its first season. When we last left Jane, Ben had learned of her secret double-life and the truth about her “internship.” And Billy had told Jane that he had seen Nick and Lulu kissing at the camp-out. Back at Donovan Decker, Jane exposed India as the mole who had been leaking their designs, so Gray fired her. However, we later saw Jeremy telling Gray’s ex that he could no longer give him information. Meanwhile, Billy finally told Jane that “it’s always been her,” but then he had to run off to serve his time in juvenile detention.

So where does this leave Billy and Jane?! Now that Ben knows the truth and seems to support Jane’s career, does this mean she has another ally to help her in her ruse? But with Ben dating Rita, will this put him in an awkward situation? And what about India and Jeremy – will the truth about the leaked designs come out? Jane by Design was a surprise hit for me this past fall. It’s a fun show, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.

In tonight’s episode, “The Replacement,” Jane realizes she may have a chance at getting India’s job now that Gray is depending on her more, but she faces some tough competition. Meanwhile, Billy returns from a stint in juvenile hall; and Ben struggles to keep Jane’s secret from Rita.

See it tonight on ABC Family at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Jane By Design @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, Chopped, Rizzoli & Isles, Franklin & Bash, The Glee Project, and Workaholics. (What happened to my Tuesdays?!)

Megan’s Choice #2

I am not usually a reality dating show fan, but I can’t help but like Love in the Wild. It amuses me beyond belief. It’s the best parts of The Amazing Race mixed together with part Temptation Island and part The Bachelorette. I enjoy it. The fact that they have to work as a team with someone they are just getting to know makes it an interesting human nature experiment. Mix really attractive people with jungle trials and hormones and then make them work together, and it’s delicious TV. My favorite part of it is when a couple really hits it off and dominates the people who are so busy looking for the perfect-looking person that they miss true matches. Yes, I’ve slightly lost my mind, but we all have to do it from time to time. 🙂

The adventure dating show returns tonight with new host Jenny McCarthy and fourteen new singles who bring more drama, more conflict, more laughter, and more tears to the jungle – with an ultimate goal of finding true romance. The fourteen men and women are initially paired up, but in a shocking surprise, seven additional men are brought in to kick off the adventures as trios. The trios are immediately thrown into a challenge that forces them to navigate rough waters and crawl through a snake-infested well. The premiere episode concludes in an emotional elimination ceremony that will break up some teams and strengthen others. Seven singles will be sent home.

To see how the relationships start to form in the jungle, tune in to NBC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Love in the Wild @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing MasterChef and Jane By Design.
