If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/10/12

It’s Sunday night as I write this up, and I feel like dried spit. (I told that to a couple of friends online, and they were confused. Have you never heard that phrase either? Maybe it’s a regional thing. LOL Basically it means I feel terrible—tired, just generally crappy, but nothing specific. *shrug* But I’m happy because there’s tons of great TV on Monday night, and we have just a few choices for our picks for what we think you should be watching. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice #1

Last week’s Warehouse 13 was one of the best of the season. So much happened… Claudia found out about the secret Steve’s been keeping. Artie saw something similar to his vision of an evil-eyed Claudia about to kill him nearly come to fruition when Brother Adrian sent Alice’s containment mirror out into the world with the instructions to find and kill the most important people in Artie’s life—specifically his girlfriend, Dr. Vanessa Calder, who he was about to ask if they could take things to the next level. This time, Alice had learned how to jump bodies, which came in very handy as she took over Claudia’s body and then Vanessa’s after making her way through civilians to get to the Warehouse gang. Artie realized how dangerous it was for Vanessa to be with him, so he broke up with her. (Reminded me of Twilight… LOL) Vanessa didn’t take that well at all and promised him that she wasn’t giving up that easily. Leena overheard Artie yelling to the phantom Brother Adrian about the astrolabe, so she is getting closer and closer to learning the truth.

It was a great episode. We don’t normally get to see the whole team working together, but I really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see where they go from here now that most of the secrets are out.

On tonight’s episode, “Endless Wonder,” Pete and Myka investigate an artifact that causes people to stretch…to death! Danielle Nicolet guest stars.

Megan’s Choice

Tonight, The New Normal premieres on NBC, and I am telling you that you HAVE to watch this show. It follows Goldie (Georgia King) and her 8-year-old daughter as they start life over in L.A., after a few issues in their everyday life. Meanwhile, in L.A., Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) are a same-sex couple who decide to have a baby—and are looking for a responsible surrogate. Cue Goldie, who is desperate for money—and fertile—and there you have the beginnings of a hilarious comedy. Sprinkle on some crazy assistant and the incredibly prejudice Grandma, and you have a great sitcom. I laughed so many times throughout the pilot. Sometimes, it’s so wrong, it’s right. Enjoy it.

On tonight’s premiere, “Sofa’s Choice,” Nana tracks down Goldie’s ex-husband, while we learn the story of how David and Bryan met.

To fall in love with this quirky gem like I did, tune in to NBC at 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of The New Normal @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also watching/DVRing Hell’s Kitchen, and MasterChef.

Kyle’s Choice

Tonight, the final two contestants battle it out for the title of MasterChef. Last week, it was Becky who was sent home. As much as I wanted Josh gone, the judges really had no other choice—she deserved to leave last week, and his food was the best. Now it just comes down to one three-course meal to determine who goes home with $250K and their own cookbook and who just goes home. Josh was already eliminated once before, and Christine has amazed me all season, so I really hope she wins. I want to see her out-cook Josh, but he seems like a really strong competitor lately.

Last week, I got to speak with Christine and Josh during a press Q&A conference call. They were both really nice and answered my questions about when it clicked that they could win the competition and which of the judges intimidated them the most. You can find my write-up on NoReruns.net.

In tonight’s episode, “Winner Chosen,” the final two cooks face off one last time in the kitchen in the Season 3 finale. Each conceptualizes and prepares a three-course meal for the judges, who will then determine the winner. At stake is a cookbook deal and a $250,000 grand prize.

See who wins tonight on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of MasterChef @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording The Voice, The New Normal, Hell’s Kitchen, Switched at Birth, Major Crimes, Perception, Alphas, Warehouse 13, and The Inbetweeners.

JJ’s Choice

This season, Alphas has been on a creative high, but the ratings seem to decline almost every week, so that sucks. I loved this series last season. It felt like a darker and better version of Heroes, and it hasn’t struggled with the storytelling this second season. With Stanton Perish working towards a war between Alphas and humans and our team working through some issues of their own, the tension and stories have been amazing.

In tonight’s episode, “Gods and Monsters,” the team comes face-to-face with further evidence of Parish’s nefarious agenda when they encounter a young Alpha with a deadly ability to control the minds of those around him. Rosen and Parish are pushed into a showdown.

See who comes out on top tonight on Syfy at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Alphas @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Warehouse 13, The Voice, and The New Normal.

Jenny’s Choice #2

Tonight is the season finale of Hell’s Kitchen, and what a crazy season it’s been. I’m really kind of happy because my two picks from the beginning of this season are the final two. I like Justin and Christina both, so either way, I’m happy with whoever wins. Christina won the first challenege last week by one vote—Wolfgang Puck’s, no less!—and that gave her the advantage of picking first when they had to choose from their former competitors to form their teams for the final challenge. If Christina can keep her team from fighting and getting into an all-out war, I think her picks of Dana, Patrick, Kimmie, & Robyn are stronger than Justin’s of Barbie, Brian, Royce (who is useless, in my opinion), and Clemenza. Regardless, it’ll be interesting because tempers are going to be flying high on both sides of the kitchen.

On tonight’s episode, “Winner Chosen,” after a long and trying competition, it’s time for the final dinner service and for Chef Ramsay to choose the winner of Hell’s Kitchen. The two finalists must carefully build their teams and create a stunning final menu as they enter into the most important dinner service of their lives.

To see who will be crowned the Season 10 winner of Hell’s Kitchen and become the next Head Chef working under Executive Chef Kevin Hee at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Las Vegas, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hell’s Kitchen @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing MasterChef, CBS Fall Preview Show, The New Normal, & Perception.
