If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/28/12

What a week it’s been. I’ve had a sinus infection for a couple of days, but that hasn’t stopped me from enjoying the great TV that’s been on this week. I’m having trouble picking a favorite episode, but I still love the Castle premiere. There are quite a few ranked right up there, though! There’s more great stuff on tonight, so read on to find out what we recommend. 🙂

It seems like the last two seasons, the fate of CSI: NY has hung in the balance, so the writers decided to do the same, putting up a cliffhanger or whatever. Last season, Mac was shot and spent some of the episode in limbo with his ex-wife, trying to decide if he was going to fight to live or if he was going to give up. He ended up fighting to live, and the team ended up catching the shooter. Then it flash-forwarded to six months later, with Mac re-joining the team out in the field. If the series had ended then, it might have been an okay finale, but I’m very glad it didn’t. It’s hard for me to remember that I didn’t watch this show for the first couple of seasons. I love it so much now, and I’m really glad it’s back tonight. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Reignited,” the CSI team is called upon to investigate when a local fire chief who was also a friend of Mac’s, is killed in a blaze that used the same technique as a recently-paroled arsonist, leaving the team in the line of fire during the investigation. Rob Morrow (Numb3rs) guest stars.

Blue Bloods has been such a brilliant show from the minute it premiered that I have been hooked from the beginning. It’s a combination of the family drama, as well as the excellent mysteries we get served on a week-to-week basis. Danny really had some excellent character growth last season, and I enjoyed the glimpses we got into the way his mind works. I’m looking forward to the new season and to seeing if it can top last season.

On tonight’s episode, “Family Business,” a criminal seeks revenge on Danny by abducting Jackie. Elsewhere, Jamie is assigned a new partner; and a young cop is unnerved after he mistakenly shoots an innocent person.

To see our favorite crime-fighting family in action, tune in to CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Blue Bloods @ Clicker.

Tonight, Fringe returns for the premiere of the fifth and final season. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, there are only 13 episodes of the series left. On the other hand, the creators know it will be ending, so they can give it a proper conclusion, and we won’t be left hanging.

The new season picks up from the events in last season’s amazing “Letters of Transit” episode. It was the year 2036, and the Observers had taken over Earth. Henrietta, Peter and Olivia’s daughter, discovered the bodies of her father, Walter, and Astrid, which had been frozen in amber for the past 20 years. She managed to free them, and then they planned their mission to find Olivia and stop the Observers. Tonight, that exciting and seemingly impossible quest begins!

In tonight’s episode, “Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11,” Peter and Etta search for Olivia in 2036 as the Fringe team, released from amber after 20 years, joins the rebellion to halt the Observers’ world dominance.

Don’t miss this exciting start to what will hopefully be a fantastic final season tonight on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Fringe @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Made in Jersey, Grimm, Haven, and Strike Back.

Last week, we got the very exciting season premiere of Haven. The premise for the episode wasn’t too spectacular, but the continuation of the stories we left in season 2 were awesome. After Duke and Nathan rescued Audrey, they dug up the Colorado Kid’s grave, and it was empty, with the words “find him before The Hunter” written in the coffin—in Audrey’s handwriting.

On tonight’s episode, “Stay,” a number of raving barbarians start wreaking havoc on Haven’s streets, and Audrey and Nathan try to uncover their origins so they can be stopped.

Find out if they succeed on Syfy at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Haven @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Fringe and America’s Next Top Model.
