If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/18/12

I’m still trying to catch up on all of the TV shows I missed while at the Syfy Digital Press Tour this weekend, but it was so worth it. I had a great time hanging out with some fellow bloggers and the casts of Haven, Being Human, Defiance, and Warehouse 13. It was also fun to see the Warehouse 13 and Defiance sets. I will write up my adventures soon, but in the meantime, TV goes on, and there’s a lot of stuff we recommend you check out tonight.

It seems like the only things I watch on the Food Network these days are competition series, and tonight, one of my favorites, Sweet Genius, returns for its third season. This series is like Chopped, if it had three dessert rounds and Willy Wonka serving as both host and the judging panel. In the first season, the contestants competed in Chocolate, Frozen, and Cake rounds. In the second season, the Frozen round was replaced by Candy. I’m interested to see how the quirky Chef Ron Ben-Israel mixes things up this season!

In tonight’s episode, “Cuckoo Genius,” a cute canine inspires chocolate desserts that are concocted with a breakfast food and bland bread. Later, peanuts and a sweet drink are used; and in the final round the remaining chefs work with an aromatic grass.

See how crazy the competition gets tonight on Food Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Sweet Genius @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording The Big Bang Theory, Elementary, Last Resort, Grey’s Anatomy, 30 Rock, Up All Night, The Office, Parks and Recreation, The League, Childrens Hospital, and NTSF:SD:SUV::.

It’s been a couple of weeks since the last episode of Person of Interest. We got to learn Root’s back story (some of it, we figured out before they told us, some we didn’t), and in the end, she almost killed Finch, but working in tandem with Reese, he escaped and Root ran off, which means she’s still out there. I’m okay with that, though. It gives them someone who knows about the Machine, someone very dangerous they can go up against in the future. Finch is home where he belongs, and I’m just very glad they didn’t drag that story line on any further than they did. I liked it, but I’m ready to get back to the normal case-of-the-week, which is part of why I love this show. And now that both cops know about the other, I’m interested to see how it plays out.

On tonight’s episode, “Masquerade,” now that Finch has finally returned to the Library, Reese can return to working in the field, but he now faces one of his toughest cases yet, as he is tasked with protecting the spoiled daughter of a powerful Brazilian diplomat.

Don’t miss it tonight on CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Person of Interest @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Elementary, Beauty and the Beast, The American Bible Challenge, & Up All Night.

Grey’s Anatomy has had two very intense episodes to kick this season off, and I have been riveted since the very beginning. I was crying watching Mark die, and seeing everyone dealing with the aftermath has been difficult. Owen asking April to come back was my favorite moment, and hopefully, Jackson and April will actually become the couple they are meant to be. Regardless, it’s going to be a very long road to recovery emotionally and physically for everyone.

On tonight’s episode, “Love the One You’re With,” the plane-crash survivors face a difficult choice, which will have far-reaching effects. Elsewhere, Jackson and April are put in a stressful situation when they’re obligated to work together; and Alex must exercise some self-restraint with an intern.

To see if anyone has a slight happy ending, tune in to ABC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Grey’s Anatomy @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Elementary, Scandal, Last Resort, Person of Interest, Beauty and the Beast, and The Vampire Diaries.

The finale of the tenth season of Project Runway is upon us. And last week, no one got cut, but some really tough critiques were dished to the remaining contestants. I must say that overall, I’ve been most impressed with Dmitry, but Fabio has presented some very nice garments, as well.

On tonight’s episode, “Finale, Part 2,” the remaining four design at New York Fashion Week, and a winner is chosen.

Find out who on Lifetime at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Project Runway @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, The Vampire Diaries, Up All Night, Two and a Half Men, and Parks and Recreation.
