Tonight is the series premiere of Breaking Magic on Discovery Channel at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. Is science the secret sorcery to creating a successful magic trick? Discovery Channel and Discovery Channel International go on a worldwide tour with today’s most innovative magicians who transform pure science into mind-boggling magic tricks. Get ready to learn the chemistry, physics and biology powering the world’s greatest illusions. The new show fuses the showmanship and mystery of street magic with the raw power of science. Watch as each trick surprises unsuspecting bystanders with mystifying results. Discovery Channel recruits today’s freshest and most creative magicians to show how science works with shocking tricks including knocking down a wall with the power of one’s voice, turning a sliver bracelet into gold, slowing the speed of a dropping cannonball and many more. Hidden cameras on the streets of London, Warsaw and New York City capture bystanders completely baffled by these magicians’ unexpected tricks. Tonight is the series premiere of Made in Chelsea on Style Network at 8/7c. Style Media has acquired the US rights to the UK’s #1 docu-soap, Made in Chelsea from NBCUniversal Cable & New Media Distribution. The series follows the lives and loves of a group of fashionable, elite twenty-somethings who live and party in one of London’s most exclusive postal codes – Chelsea. The flashy, fashion-forward series follows the lives, loves and careers of a group of eight globetrotting friends who live in and around some of London’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Like any other group of young people, there is drama — from ex-loves to backstabbing frenemies — only it all plays out against the glittering backdrop of the London social scene. Polo fields, chic parties, the occasional private jet — it’s good to be young, beautiful and on top of the world.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Oliver Stone’s Untold History of the United States on Showtime at 8/7c. As Americans, do we really know and understand our shared and complicated history? How do we recall the small details and forgotten players that influenced some of the biggest events from America’s past? Will our children actually get the “real” or whole story from reading history books? And how will it affect the future of our country? Oliver Stone serves as creator, executive producer, and narrator for the series.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Catfish: The TV Show on MTV at 11:01/10:01c. Following the success of Rogue Pictures and Relativity Media’s critically acclaimed 2010 documentary-thriller Catfish, the new MTV series Catfish: The TV Show tackles the mystery and complexities of dating in a digital world. According to an MTV survey* of Millenials 18-24 years old, 1 in 4 has online dated, 1 in 2 has “a friend” who does it and, in the past three years, traffic to top 10 online dating sites has tripled. In a world where everyone is constantly connected digitally, social media has made communicating easier but this digital world might also complicate relationships. The 12 episode, hour-long series follows Nev Schulman, whose own online love drama was the subject of the Catfish film, and Max Joseph as they take viewers on a deeply personal journey that goes inside the stories of young people as their online-only romantic relationships collide with first-time, real-life encounters.
