If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/5/12

It’s Hump Day, which is a good thing for a lot of reasons! LOL Mainly for me, though, because it means we’re to the mid-point of the week, which means only two more work days after this one, and then we’re too the weekend again. Last weekend went by way too quickly, so I’m hoping for a bit of a slower time in a few days. But also, it means there’s some great stuff on tonight, including what we think you should be watching, so read on to see what we recommend.

I’ve been looking forward to today for a couple of weeks now. My pick tonight is The Neighbors. It’s their Christmas episode, and you know that is going to have to be brilliant! The last new episode was their Thanksgiving one, which I also loved, so I don’t expect the Christmas one to be any different. The scene I am giggling about most on the preview I’ve seen is Larry Bird opening the Etch-a-Sketch and being thrilled about getting most advanced version of like an iPad thing. Hy-Sterical. That is all.

I recently spoke to Tim Jo, who plays oldest alien son, Reggie Jackson. Such a sweet, funny guy! Totally made me love him and his character more than I already did. You can check that out here: Tim Jo Interview.

On tonight’s episode, “Merry Crap-Mas,” the Weavers ask the Bird-Kersees to hide the multitude of Christmas gifts they’ve purchased for Amber, Max, and Abby. But when Marty and Debbie are put off by their kids’ entitled attitude toward the holiday, they decide to return all the gifts and put the money toward a family vacation, where they can focus on the true meaning of the holiday. There’s just one problem: Larry Bird has opened one of their gifts, spawning a frenzy of gift opening among the aliens and leaving the Weavers with no gifts and no way to pay for the trip. Can alien “Scrooge” Larry Bird save Christmas for the Weavers?

The X Factor has been a strange journey this year so far, and I found it unbelievable that Vino went home instead of CeCe, because he is far more talented than she is. If the judges had their head on straight, then it would have been her going home, but seeing as we’re leaving the fate of our music listening up to the likes of Demi Lovato… Egads.

On tonight’s episode, the top finalists perform in order to stay in the competition.

To see if the judges have their wits about them this week, tune into FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of The X Factor @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Criminal Minds, Chicago Fire, and Arrow.

Survivor is a show that’s been on forever, and the challenges have gotten quite repetitive. However, every once in a while, it has a really interesting season, and this is one of them. Last week, we were down to seven players, and it was the food auction. While Carter kept accidentally buying food for the whole group, Abi held onto her money. While she claimed she was just saving it to take home because she would clearly be voted out next, it was obvious she was just waiting to spend it all on a specific item. And she did just that—quickly bidding all $500 on the mystery advantage for the immunity challenge. With this, she gained free admittance into the final round of the challenge and ultimately won immunity. This meant the others had to scramble to figure out who they would vote out instead—which ended up being Penner.

This year, I have been so confused and surprised by who has been going home each week. Loyalties and alliances have been flip-flopping and up for grabs week after week. While I want Lisa to win (solely because she was Blaire on The Facts of Life), I honestly have no idea who she is currently teamed up with. The main person I want gone is Abi—she is so annoying and despicable. However, it is for those exact reasons why the other players would be stupid to vote her out—no one would ever give her the money in the end.

On tonight’s episode, “Shot Into Smithereens,” family members visit the castaways and take part in a reward challenge.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Criminal Minds, The Middle, The Neighbors, Suburgatory, Nashville, Whitney, Guys with Kids, Arrow, Supernatural, American Horror Story, Top Chef, & The Hour.
