If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/11/12

Winter is coming on full force, and I couldn’t be happier. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! The best part of a snowstorm is being stuck inside with tons of time to watch television (assuming your cable/satellite doesn’t go out). Let’s take a look at what you could be cuddling up watching tonight.

Megan’s Choice

Nothing warms you up like a nice dose of hilarity, and The Mindy Project definitely meets the requirement. Mindy is the picture of dysfunctional, which makes her even more delightful. That doctor’s office is exactly what I’d want if I was a doctor, because when they aren’t all serious being doctors, they are full of witty banter back and forth. I wish that Mindy would find her happy place, although that may be counterproductive for our funnybones.

On tonight’s episode, “Josh and Mindy’s Christmas Party,” when Mindy host the company Christmas party at her apartment, she is excited for everyone to finally meet her boyfriend; Jeremy is in charge of distributing the Christmas bonuses.

To get in on the holiday celebration, tune into FOX at 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Mindy Project @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Hart of Dixie, NCIS, NCIS: LA, The Voice, and New Girl.

I was going to skip today’s Remote post because I’m behind on so many shows and I’m super tired today, but then I read the description for tonight’s new episode of NCIS: LA and realized there’s no way I can skip it. lol I won’t wax poetic about the show because you know how much I love it. I love the characters and all the relationships (romantic or otherwise), as well as all the story lines. Deeks is still my favorite character, with Hetty a close second, although I do truly love them all, and it kind of changes week to week sometimes (come on, how cute are Nell and Eric?). But overall, this is one of my favorite procedurals over all the networks.

On tonight’s episode, “The Gold Standard,” the team investigates the strange and brazen heist executed by gunmen in costumes that could directly impact the U.S. economy. Meanwhile, as Deeks testifies on a case, Granger insists on partnering up with a very reluctant Kensi.

Don’t miss seeing Kensi partnered with Granger tonight on CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing NCIS, Raising Hope, Happy Endings, Rizzoli & Isles, Take It All, Chopped, Leverage, & Flashpoint.

Kyle’s Choice

On last week’s episode of Happy Endings, Penny had to wear a helmet due to all of the times she stupidly bashed her head. However, in order to keep this from the new guy she’s dating, Penny came up with some creative ways to keep her head covered during their dates. Meanwhile, Jane tried to break into the boys club at work by joining in on the spousal put-downs—which didn’t sit too well with Brad. And Max tried to outwit a fist-bump bully from his past.

Happy Endings is my favorite of the Tuesday comedies—I almost wish ABC would move it to Wednesdays instead of Suburgatory to make their Wednesday comedy block even better. This show is my new Friends—I love all the characters and how they interact and rib on one another. They do a great job mixing up the pairings each week, though whichever story involves Penny is usually my favorite.

On tonight’s episode, “To Serb With Love,” Jane and Alex’s parents throw a big celebration to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the family mattress business, and Jane agonizes over coming up with an amusing toast to spring on her humorless dad. Meanwhile, Alex tells Dave that her parents are unaware that they are once again bedfellows; and Max goes looking for a new BFF since Penny’s tied up in her relationship with Pete.

See how the big party goes tonight on ABC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Happy Endings @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Don’t Trust the B— in Apt 23, Private Practice, Take It All, Parenthood, Raising Hope, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Hart of Dixie, Chopped, Rizzoli & Isles, and Leverage.

JJ’s Choice

This season of New Girl so far is really evening out. Jess is quirky but not so much annoying, and the episode “Eggs” showed a lot of emotion and also managed to be very funny. And the last episode had Winston and Jess team up, and that’s always good for Winston as a character.

On tonight’s episode, “Santa,” the gang is juggling multiple parties in one night. Jess tries to avoid Sam, Nick tries to keep up with a sexually adventerous Angie, and Winston gets a cranberry stuck in his nose.

Catch it on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of New Girl @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching The Voice, Happy Endings, Don’t Trust the B— in Apt 23, and The Mindy Project.
