If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/16/13

Mid-way through the week, and thank goodness, my kiddo is back at school. Antibiotics work wonders. Suffice it to say, I’m WAY behind on TV. But that’s okay. I’ll catch up. Of course, all the new episodes tonight won’t help lessen my load, but I can’t help but be happy because there’s some great stuff on. To see what we think you should be watching tonight, read on. 😉

I just got turned on to Top Chef with the last season of Top Chef Masters, and I’m angry with myself that I hadn’t watched it until that point. The show is everything I love in a cooking competition—especially since there is a little less pompous attitude & cattiness on this one than a lot of them. Chefs in general are kind of pompous. But at least on this show, it doesn’t take over for most of them. I’m pretty happy with the eliminations so far, and I can’t wait to see the challenges & who goes home tonight. Tonight should be fun because I haven’t seen the “Restaurant Wars” episode of the show, so I’m excited to see what it’s like.

On tonight’s episode, “Restaurant Wars,” it’s men versus women in this week’s episode, as the cheftestants go into Restaurant Wars with the hopes of impressing world-renowned restaurateur Danny Meyer. Relationships are tested as restaurants are built from scratch, and each team must try to overcome the destructive mistakes of one of their fellow chefs. Emeril Lagasse and Gail Simmons join head judge Tom Colicchio and host Padma Lakshmi.

Watch the 75-minute exciting new episode tonight on Bravo at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Top Chef @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Neighbors, Criminal Minds, Modern Family, Bobby’s Dinner Battle, CSI, Hot in Cleveland, & Happily Divorced.

criminalminds116smallAt times, it may seem I pick some shows simply because of the cast—and at times, this is true. However, with Criminal Minds, it’s more than the hot cast that makes me tune in; it’s the creepy, twisted, and well thought out plots. The episode with the murderer making ventriloquist dummies out of the dead bodies was disturbing, and at the same time, I couldn’t look away. The last new episode, we learned that someone is copying the BAU’s closed cases, which is going to make for an interesting manhunt for the second half of the season. Also on the last episode, we saw an incredibly sexy and awesome scene between Garcia and Morgan—where she was admiring his incredibly well-shaped abs. I may or may not have been drooling just slightly—but honestly, they need to get those two together at least once. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Zugzwag,” the BAU must help Reid get his girlfriend back after she was kidnapped by her stalker. Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gossip Girl) guest stars.

To see if the team can help save the only girl that’s ever been perfect for Reid, tune into CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching CSI, American Idol, Arrow, Supernatural, and Suburgatory.

Tonight, those hilarious slackers of Workaholics return for the second half of the show’s third season. I always enjoy watching the amusing antics of Adam, Blake, and Ders as they seem to find new and hilarious ways to avoid doing actual work. Comedy Central recently picked up the series for 13-episode 4th and 5th seasons, so tonight is just the first of many fun new episodes to come!

On tonight’s episode, “Booger Nights,” the guys set out to prove they’re the funniest people in the office at an employee’s roast.

See if you enjoy it as much as I do tonight on Comedy Central at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Workaholics @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/recording Criminal Minds, CSI, The Middle, The Neighbors, Modern Family, Suburgatory, Nashville, Arrow, Supernatural, American Horror Story, Top Chef, Bobby’s Dinner Battle, and Kroll Show.

americanidol2013smallTonight is the return of the 12th season of American Idol, and it will be very interesting to see how this season progresses. As the previous years, the judges seem insane (Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey at the same desk, Randy still there), and it is “a year with such a strong group of girls.” It could be very interesting. But most interesting will be the ratings. Will Idol still be the highest scoring reality show on TV after it finishes its run, or will viewer fatigue finally push The Voice into that spot?

On tonight’s episode, “Auditions #1,” season 12 kicks off with new judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban joining Randy at the judges’ table for the first round of auditions. The new judges quickly find their footing at the judging table in New York City.

The first two hours of auditions kick off on FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of American Idol @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Arrow, Modern Family, Suburgatory, Hot in Cleveland, Happily Divorced, and Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings.
