If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/6/13

This has been one of those weeks where I feel like it’s time to go back to bed the moment I get out—but life doesn’t like that very much, so I am up and doing my thing. 🙂 I am looking forward to kicking back and relaxing while I watch some great new TV, and you should be, too! Let’s see what the TV doctors (That’s us. 😉 ) are ordering for tonight.

Megan’s Choice

criminalminds26smallI don’t care what anyone says… Criminal Minds is now, and will always be, one of my favorite shows. This season started off a bit strange with Emily leaving, but I am happy with the balance of personal and professional the show continues to bring to the table. I am still so heartbroken for Reid and wish that there was a way for him to wake up and it all be a dream. However, unlike some shows, the bad must remain to build character. Reid did a good job of coming to the aide of his team members when they needed him, even through his grief, but I really hope they find a silver lining for this guy soon.

On tonight’s episode, “All That Remains,” when the daughters of Bruce Morrison, a writer whose wife mysteriously vanished a year ago, go missing on the anniversary of their mother’s disappearance, the BAU is brought in to study Morrison as a possible suspect. Ken Olin guest stars.

To delve into the twisted mind of the unsub, tune into CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching CSI, Law & Order: SVU, American Idol, Arrow, Chicago Fire, and Suburgatory.

Jenny’s Choice

csi26smallI have to admit that I stopped watching CSI a few years ago, after Laurence Fishburne joined the cast. I wasn’t a fan of his character, and I just lost interest. I started watching again this season, and I wish I’d started watching earlier, when Ted Danson & Elisabeth Shue first joined the cast, because they are great. I really am loving it again. And I’m especially excited for tonight’s new episode because it’s the first of a 2-night crossover with CSI: NY. Gary Sinese & Ted Danson will be visiting the other’s show on a case involving Mac’s girlfriend Christine. Eek!

On tonight’s episode, “In Vino Veritas,” when CSI Mac Taylor decides to surprise his girlfriend in Vegas, he discovers she’s missing and asks his friend D.B. Russell for help. Meanwhile, the CSIs investigate the loss of a local wine collector on part one of a two-part crossover.

See the excitement tonight on CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of CSI @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guys with Kids, The Neighbors, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, The Americans, Bobby’s Dinner Battle, Chicago Fire, Hot in Cleveland, Top Chef, & Happily Divorced.

Kyle’s Choice

theneighborssmallI love ABC’s Wednesday comedies, and one of my favorites is the new series The Neighbors. Last week, in the wittily-titled fourteenth episode, “The Back Nine,” the Weavers and the Bird-Kersees both tried to become members of the same country club. When Larry was accepted and Marty was not, he took every opportunity to rub it in Marty’s face. Meanwhile, the Bird-Kersees discovered the fact that their family was multi-cultural, so each member did research to ensure they fit the stereotypes of their own race.

I think a lot of people wrote off this series as dumb and childish before they even gave it a chance. I find it hilarious and look forward to it each week—it’s got some really great writing. Jackie had me laughing last week at the way she manged to work “What You Talkin’ ’bout Willis” and “I Have a Dream” into her sentences in order to fulfill her stereotype. And the rest of the family had their own equally humorous references—with Reggie declaring that he needed to be a bad driver and Larry giving his oppressed WASP speech.

On tonight’s episode, “Space Invaders,” Debbie gives relationship advice to Reggie Jackson when he starts dating a nerdy girl, though his parents can’t even believe he has romantic interests. Meanwhile, Amber’s new boyfriend is a dumb jock, but she doesn’t want to talk to her mom about him.

See why we love this little gem tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Neighbors @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/recording Criminal Minds, CSI, The Middle, The Neighbors, Modern Family, Suburgatory, Nashville, Whitney, Guys with Kids, Arrow, Supernatural, The Americans, Top Chef, Bobby’s Dinner Battle, Workaholics, and Kroll Show.

JJ’s Choice

suburgatory26smallThe last new episode of Suburgatory and the surprise visit from Wilmer Valderrama was great. Him walking around trying to “fix” Yakult and getting all the women hot and bothered was so funny. And George and Dalia finally got their sweet moment together.

On tonight’s episode, “Body Talk,” Dallas is thrown out of the country club, while Tessa becomes a producer of the Chatswin High TV show “Teen Talk.”

See how this impacts her and Ryan on ABC at 9:31/8:31c. Learn where to find episodes online of Suburgatory @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching American Idol, Arrow, Whitney, Modern Family, Hot in Cleveland, Happily Divorced, and Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings.
