If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/15/13

Thank goodness it’s Friday! My kiddo’s been sick since Wednesday, and trust me, it isn’t pretty. I’m glad it’s the weekend so the hubby’s home to share parenting duties. I’m also glad because there’s some good stuff on tonight, so check out what Megan & I think you should be watching. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice

bluebloods215smallOne of my favorite dramas on TV right now is Blue Bloods. It seriously combines a great police drama with a heartfelt show about family. Usually, we’re lucky to get one or the other (like CSI or Parenthood), but with this show, we get both. Last week was great because we got to see what exactly this show does so well. Frank had to deal with the ex-mayor asking that his daughter’s charges of possession be dropped after the officer (Jamie) arrested her smoking marijuana. Then Erin talked to the ex-mayor and said he should let his daughter learn from her mistake, rather than cleaning up the mess for her. The advice worked because she was sentenced to community service, and her father supported that. The main case of the episode was good, but I’m not a big fan of the religion-based episodes, so while I enjoyed it, it wasn’t my favorite. But the odd part of the episode was Henry just then suddenly telling Frank about the son he & Frank’s mother had before Frank—a boy who died at eighteen months old from cancer. After Frank had to deal with Joe’s death, Henry just NOW telling him that he knew how it felt to lose a son? Just seemed…odd to me. Regardless, I love the show, even when I find certain details strange. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Warriors,” when a 10-year-old boy is the victim of an incident in the projects, Danny’s heated approach to the case lands him in anger management class. Meanwhile, Frank navigates the politics of the State Department and the Turkish Government in order to help a young Turkish woman avoid persecution.

See if anger management does Danny any good tonight on CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Blue Bloods @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Last Man Standing, Malibu Country, & CSI: NY.

Megan’s Choice

csiny215smallI’m not sure exactly what it is about CSI: NY that keeps me coming back season after season, but it does. Truth be told, I’ve always loved the team on this show. They are so well developed as characters that it makes watching them interact seamless. Last week’s crossover episode was nerve racking as we watched Mac rush to save his love Christine. That’s a burden that most of us could never handle, but Mac managed it better than some. I’m loving this season and can’t believe it’s almost over, so let’s enjoy it while we can.

On tonight’s episode, “Blood Actually,” on Valentines Day, Mac and the gang investigate three tales of love gone wrong.

To see if the team can solve the cases, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of CSI: NY @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods, Touch, and Kitchen Nightmares.
