If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/27/13

Well, we got ANOTHER foot of snow on Monday night/Tuesday morning. Crazy! So my kiddo had Tuesday off school and is off again today. And then my husband tweaked his back as he was shoveling the sidewalk. Poor thing. So he’s going to curl up with me on the couch tonight after he spends all day at work and watch all the great TV on tonight. So can you, especially if you check out our recommendations. 😉

Jenny’s Choice #1

criminalmindssmallCriminal Minds has been through a lot, the last of which was the murder of Reid’s girlfriend right in front of him. Last week’s episode was another rough one, with the camp that was all about taking gay teenage boys and “fixing them” (ie: making them straight). It was really awful what they were doing to those young boys—all the drugs, the shock therapy…not to mention hiring a prositute to show the boy how to have sex with a woman and how pleasurable it can be, and then to have the parent in there with him? Really one of the most sickening things I’ve ever seen on TV.

The bigger arc this season, of course, is the copycat who has been stalking our team. And this week, we get closer. Will they catch him? It seems a bit too early in the game for that, but who knows…

On tonight’s episode, “Carbon Copy,” when victims are found in Philadelphia in a similar style to victims of The Replicator, the stalker who has been tracking the BAU’s every move, the team thinks this could be the break they need to try and apprehend him. Scott Grimes (ER) guest stars.

To see if the team can catch their man, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

Megan’s Choice

duckdynastysmallTonight’s choice is going to shock you because I’m usually so anti-reality shows…but Duck Dynasty isn’t just your usual reality show. There is something mildly insane and incredibly entertaining watching this group of bushy-bearded men make duck calls and do crazy redneck things. One of my favorite episodes was when Willie took his daughter’s boyfriend out snake hunting to scare him and then ended up liking him in the end. I am super excited to see this new season and see what these duck boys are up to now.

On tonight’s season premiere, “Duck Season Eve,” the boys camp out the night before season opening; Miss Kay rebuffs unabashed Phil’s romantic advances.

To see what season 3 has to bring, tune in to at A&E at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Duck Dynasty @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Criminal Minds, CSI, Law & Order: SVU, and American Idol.

psych227smallNow that Megan has made her case, I recommend you follow the advice of yesterday’s promo (see the picture below today’s post. 😉 ) and Don’t Duck Around at 10pm and instead, check out the season 7 premiere of Psych! 🙂

It has been way too long since we last visited Santa Barbara’s favorite psychic detective agency. It was almost a year ago when we were left with the chilling cliffhanger of Henry getting shot after he uncovered the fact that one of his fellow officers was dirty. They can’t possibly kill Henry off the show, can they?! While it will be interesting to see a darker side of Shawn in the wake of the shooting, I’m looking forward to things getting back to the fun status quo, and the wild antics, fun pop culture references, and hilarious bromance that is Shawn and Gus! It looks like this will be another great season, with a musical episode and the 100th episode Clue parody!

On tonight’s episode, “Santabarbaratown 2,” Shawn looks for revenge for Henry’s shooting.

To see if Henry pulls through, tune in to USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Psych @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, CSI, The Middle, The Neighbors, Modern Family, Suburgatory, Nashville, Whitney, Guys with Kids, Arrow, Supernatural, The Americans, Top Chef, Southland, Workaholics, and Kroll Show.

JJ’s Choice

arrowsmallArrow was renewed for a second season quite a while ago, and I’m loving it. The balance between “criminal of the week” and the overarching story is very nicely done, but some of the weekly criminals are quite weak, like last week’s Dodger. This week appears to solve that problem.

On tonight’s episode, “Dead to Rights,” Oliver and Diggle learn that Deadshot is still alive and targeting Malcom. Meanwhile, Malcom invites Tommy to attend a benefit honoring Malcom for his work with Starling City, but Tommy refuses to attend, and Oliver struggles to balance his new relationship with McKenna and his duties as Arrow.

Find out how Oliver manages on The CW at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Arrow @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching American Idol, Whitney, Modern Family, and Suburgatory.

Jenny’s Choice #2

guyswithkids227smallGuys with Kids may not be for everyone, but I really enjoy the show. It’s not my favorite comedy, but it makes me laugh. Last week, Chris & Sheila decided to have another baby—although the funniest part was that they were both quick to point out it would be through artificial means, not…well, how you normally have a baby. LOL I also loved Nick and Emily search the apartment top to bottom, quizzing their daughter, trying to find a toy that kept making an irritating noise—but come to find out, it was their bottle opener. Oops. hah And of course, watching Gary try to do it all—taking care of the kids and selling his new Wrapkin—was great. I especially loved the twins riding down into the elevator alone, and Gary coming downstairs to find the stroller empty…and the twins in his wife’s arms.

I don’t have a lot of hope that this show will be renewed after tonight’s season finale, but I’ve been surprised before. If it is renewed, I’ll be happy. If it isn’t, I will definitely miss it!

On tonight’s episode, “Divorce Party,” when Chris and Sheila contemplate having another baby together, Nick vows to do whatever it takes to keep them from getting back together. Later, Nick and Emily plan a divorce party to remind Chris of his horrible past with Sheila. Meanwhile, Marny’s younger sister Bridget (guest star Keshia Knight Pulliam, who starred as Tempestt Bledsoe’s—who plays Marny—little sister on The Cosby Show! ) comes to town and is soon hired as Gary’s assistant, much to his dismay.

See the Cosby reunion and whether or not Chris realizes why it would be a bad idea to tie himself further to his ex-wife tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Guys with Kids @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Neighbors, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Chicago Fire, CSI, Psych, Top Chef, Restaurant: Impossible, & The Americans.
