It’s been a bit since I took the time to do a news post, but without further adieu, I’m here to bring you up to speed on some interesting news and renewals going on in “TV land.”
A little while ago, Twitter exploded with the news of a Boy Meets World spinoff called Girl Meets World, which would feature Riley, Cory and Topanga’s daughter. I am thrilled at the prospect of seeing some of my favorite characters from my childhood shows back on screen for my daughter to enjoy. Now they are adding Teo Halm to the cast as Riley’s brother, Elliott. Even more exciting is the fact that the original creator/executive producer Michael Jacobs is in charge of the pilot, which should assure us of some of the old brilliance intact. The pilot is being considered by Disney Channel for their 2013-14 schedule. TVLine.com

Renewals are always exciting because it means a show we’ve come to love will be coming back to entertain us for at least one more season—and FOX has announced renewals for The Following, New Girl, Raising Hope, and The Mindy Project. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier about The Following getting another season, because it quickly became a favorite in my house, but I’m also happy that The Mindy Project will be back to tickle our funny bones again next year. (Jenny is beyond thrilled about Raising Hope, too!) Overall, this is good news for all! TVLine.com
Another exciting part of this season is all the talk about pilots and who is going to be coming to us in what show. Recently, Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls, Mad Men) has signed on to a comedy for FOX, Friends & Family, where she and co-star Jason Ritter (Parenthood) will play a couple whose families don’t get along.
Also in pilot casting news, Samaire Armstrong (The Mentalist, The O.C.) has signed on to ABC’s drama, The Return, about a strange town where people come back to the loved ones they left behind when they died. Creepy but intriguing.
NBC is working on a pilot of Hatfields & McCoys, which Annie Ilonzeh (Charlie’s Angels) has been cast as the adopted daughter of Mary Hatfield, who is in love with a McCoy.

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back soon to discuss more TV news. Hope your day is filled with all the bliss that television can bring!
