If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/19/13

Old Man Winter has decided he’s not done with us yet. As I watch the blizzard outside my window, I am willing spring to come soon. I suppose the one thing this weather gives us is an excuse to cuddle up in front of the television and watch some delicious new TV… As if we needed another excuse. 😉 Check out what you should be watching tonight.

ncisla319smallI’m looking forward to tonight’s episode of NCIS: LA, especially because it looks like it’s the start of another NCIS spin-off. Last week’s episode was another intense one, with Sam at the centre while his wife went back undercover to help catch who was responsible for a hit on a Russian Mob member. While I love Sam (and yes, I love looking at him), I’m ready to see some other story lines dominate the screen time. The idea of a new spinoff is very interesting to me, despite how many people are complaining about not wanting another crime drama spin-off. Face it, people… There’s a reason why they’re still on air. Lots of other people love them.

The new team includes such gems as Kim Raver (24, Grey’s Anatomy) and John Corbett (Parenthood), and it promises to be a new twist that we’ve yet to see on the other two NCIS shows. Have an open mind and tune in to see the new team.

On tonight’s episode, “Red: Part One,” when a murder weapon in Idaho matches a case in Los Angeles, Callen and Sam head to Idaho to join NCIS: Red, a mobile team who travel to various locations to solve crimes.

To see if the two teams play nicely together, tune in to CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching Hell’s Kitchen, NCIS, Body of Proof, Go On, New Girl, and The Mindy Project.

hellskitchen2013smallIn last week’s Hell’s Kitchen premiere, the chefs had to make their signature dishes live on a Vegas stage. The women’s team won, and they got to meet Celine Dion and take a private plane back to LA. Meanwhile, the men took a long bus ride through the desert. Back in the dorms, it didn’t take long for the craziness to start—Gina annoyed the rest of the women with her singing chef puppet. The first food service was also a disaster (as usual), with many of the chefs getting kicked out of the kitchen, and one man exhausted and puking into the trash. In the end, the men lost, and Sebastian was sent home.

Hell’s Kitchen is always a fun blend of reality and cooking drama. So far, there’s actually no chefs that I absolutely hate—which is a first! While Gina may be annoying the rest of the women, I find her singing puppet amusing and can’t wait to see more of Chef Al Dente! 🙂 That said, I’m sure Gina will be thrown under the bus the first chance the women get.

On tonight’s episode, “19 Chefs Compete,” the 19 remaining chefs participate in a physical challenge involving lobsters. Later, two contestants from each team head into the elimination round after a disappointing dinner service.

See all the craziness and fun tonight when you tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hell’s Kitchen @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/recording Body of Proof, Go On, The New Normal, Smash, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Justified, Inside the Actors Studio (with Tina Fey), Chopped, Cougar Town, and Face Off.

newgirl319smallNew Girl has been renewed for a third season, and I couldn’t be more happy about it. There really isn’t any other comedy out there which manages to do the same with the quirkiness and story. Last new episode, we saw the very weird TinFinity party and Jess flirting with a football player.

On tonight’s episode, “Quick Hardening Caulk,” Jess comes to a conclusion on her feelings for Nick, admits her feelings while hopped up on pain medication, and finds out he may have kept something from her. Meanwhile, Schmidt becomes obsessed with buying a fish, which Winston sees as a metaphor for Schmidt’s unresolved feelings toward Cece.

Find out what Nick was hiding on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of New Girl @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching Splash, Go On, The Mindy Project, Cougar Town, and Smash.

Gina makes me want to scream at my screen… she is very annoying. I will agree that the puppet was amusing because it was so absurd!
