Eek, it’s the start of a new week, and if you’re in my area of the country, you can expect some major storms the next few days. Stay safe, everyone, and be on the lookout for some great new TV tonight. 😉
Kyle & I both really enjoy our share of cooking shows, and one of my favorites is Chopped. And tonight is the start of another All-Stars tournament, which is always fun. The 16 contestants will be competing to win $50k for the charity of their choice. Judges this go-round are Chris Santos, Maneet Chauhan, Marcus Samuelsson, Aaron Sanchez, & Geoffrey Zakarian. I’m glad Zakarian isn’t competing, although I wish he wasn’t judging, either. *laugh* Tonight’s competitors are Nadia G., Jeff Mauro, Gabriele Corcos, & Sunny Anderson, with judges Santos, Sakarian, & Chauhan.
On tonight’s episode, “Food Network vs. Cooking Channel,” favorites from both networks battle it out in the Chopped kitchen. Nadia G.’s dash to deliver a creative appetizer before the clock runs out makes for a very exciting first round. Then, in the second round, something’s fishy in the basket, and something wild happens as two of the competitors bump into each other, putting one chef’s dish at risk. With a spot in the $50,000 All-Stars finale and a favorite charity on the line, two finalists go head-to-head in the dessert round.
See who comes out on top tonight on Food Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Chopped @ TV.com.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing Iron Chef America & Vikings.

It’s a slow night for television, but I’m going to find my amusement in an award show: The Academy of Country Music Awards. I do like a lot of country music, but I’m most intrigued by the attractive pairing of hosts Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan—that’s a lot of sexy country boys for one stage. 🙂 Shelton has been bringing his sarcasm and sex appeal to The Voice for a few seasons now. Sprinkle on some Luke Bryan and his country crooner ways, and that there is the recipe for a yummy Sunday.
On tonight’s broadcast, we’ll watch the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, as Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan help celebrate the achievements in country music at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
To see which artists win, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.
I’ll also be watching Vikings, Cupcake Wars, Iron Chef America, and Game of Thrones.
Tonight, all of Showtime’s Sunday night series, including Shameless, air their season finales. Last week, Fiona discovered that Jimmy had arranged for a studio apartment while he was going to medical school—which meant he had no plans to take along Fiona and her siblings. So while Fiona was on her office camping trip with Debbie & Liam, she secretly sneaked off to hook up with her boss. Meanwhile, Frank was arrested for robbing Carl’s former foster dad’s home; Ian confronted Mickey, but was unable to get him to call off his sham of a wedding; and the INS deported Estefania.
When last week’s episode ended, Jimmy was being forced aboard a boat with Estefania’s angry gangster of a father. Is he going to be sleeping with the fishes? I wouldn’t necessarily mind that—I actually think Fiona’s boss might be better for her at this point. Will Mandy be arrested for her hit and run attempt on Karen? If not, will Lip find some way to get away from that insane girl?! This has been an exceptionally good season of Shameless, and I’m looking forward to seeing what other shakeups we’ll be left with leading into the fourth season.
On tonight’s finale, “Survival of the Fittest,” Fiona and the family throw a surprise party for Lip’s high-school graduation; and Frank uses his gambling winnings to take Lip out for a nice dad-lad dinner.
See the third season finale tonight on Showtime at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Shameless @ TV.com.
I’ll also be watching/recording The Cleveland Show, Chopped, Mad Men, Vikings, and Game of Thrones.
