Gah. I’m FINALLY back online after having no power (which meant no internet, no TV, a phone and laptop that died too damn quickly) for almost 6 hours. It was torture! LOL So I’m really glad to be back, especially since there’s some great stuff on tonight. We’re here to give you our opinions on what is worth watching tonight, so read on. 😉 (Sorry this is posting so late. I was unable to get to sleep last night, so I slept during the day today, but because Megan was without internet & power last night through early this morning as well, I didn’t have her part to add until I woke up! Stupid weather! 😉 )
Jenny’s Choice
Tonight is the long-awaited, much-anticipated series premiere of The Goodwin Games, starring Scott Foley, Becki Newton, & T.J. Miller. The three play siblings who really couldn’t be more different. Henry (Foley) is a self-important doctor who thinks he’s better than his siblings and the town they grew up in. Chloe (Newton) is the materialistic, flaky sister whose chosen profession isn’t what she thought she’d be doing when she grew up. And finally, Jimmy (Miller) is the slacker youngest child who’s been in and out of prison for small, petty crimes. But that is all just on the surface. When they get word that their father died and they have to come back home for the reading of his will, things don’t go as planned. Their father (guest star Beau Bridges) always loved to play games with them, having little contests between the kids—and his will is no different. Needless to say, none of them are thrilled about it, after having been estranged for so long.
I got to watch tonight’s premiere early. At first, I REALLY disliked the characters. The way I described each of them above is how you first see them. But if you stick around long enough, you start to see something different—something more—to each of them, and you can’t help but root for them all. Unfortunately, this little show probably won’t get far unless the viewership is huge. It took FOREVER for FOX to bring it to our televisions, and before it even started airing, they cut the episode order from 13 to 7 (back in November!). I do hope you’ll give it a shot, though, because it truly is adorable and worth the watch.
On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” three estranged siblings return home after the loss of their father (guest star Beau Bridges) and unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit more than $20 million—if, and only if, they can adhere to their late father’s wishes.

Megan’s Choice
They say all good things must come to an end, but at least we’re only saying goodbye to Hawaii Five-0 until next season! It’s been a stellar season, filled with intriguing cases and lots of character drama. Last week, we watched as Kono used the information she obtained from listening in on Adam’s call to take down two Yakuza members, but she also took a bullet to her stomach. Adam rushed to the hospital to apologize for not telling her everything, and she was going to admit to cloning his phone, but was taken away to surgery before she could. He looked to be pretty mad when he found that out for himself.
Also on last week’s episode, we saw McGarrett go on an operative mission with his mom to get the microfiche back. They succeeded, but what will be the outcome of this whole story? I’m curious to see if we’re ever going to find out if his mom really let Wo Fat go or if it was an accident. Perhaps we’ll find out tonight.
On tonight’s season finale, “Aloha. Malama Pono,” as the CIA tasks Five-0 with finding a dangerous killer loose on the island, Kono goes on the run for a murder she did not commit. Meanwhile, McGarrett’s prison visit to Wo Fat ends with a shocking discovery.

Kyle’s Choice
Tonight, ABC kicks off the new Canadian crime procedural, Motive, which just completed airing its first season in Canada last week. What makes this series different is that both the victim and the killer are revealed at the beginning of the episode. Then we follow Vancouver homicide detective Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and her partner, Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira), as they investigate to determine the killer and the motive behind the crime. So the series takes more of a Whydunnit approach instead of the usual Whodunnit. The series also stars Lauren Holly, Brendan Penny, and Roger Cross.
I’m looking forward to checking out the premiere of this new series to see this different twist on the crime procedural. I enjoyed Kristin Lehman’s work in the first season of The Killing (though the whole time, I thought she was Uma Thurman)—so it’s nice to see her as the lead of her own show.
On tonight’s episode, “Creeping Tom,” Vancouver homicide detective Angie Flynn investigates the murder of a popular high-school teacher (Joey McIntyre) in the opener of this crime-drama series.
