It’s hard to believe we’re well into the second week of June! I swear, time flies like CAH-RA-ZY! I had a pretty good weekend, although as always, it was way too short. But there’s some great TV on tonight to console me that we have another week before the next weekend comes around, so check out our recommendations. 😉

I’ve been waiting for tonight for quite a while now. Tonight is the series premiere of TNT’s new drama King & Maxwell. It stars Rebecca Romijn (who I neither love nor hate. I like her well enough…I’ve just never watched much with her in it.) and Jon Tenney, who was my absolute favorite character on The Closer, so that right there excited me. Then there’s the fact that it’s a PI (private investigator) drama with a lot of humor. It’s based on David Baldacci’s popular book characters, Sean King & Michelle Maxwell. Both are former Secret Service agents. They have unique skills (& a great chemistry), that allows them to work well together and solve things the police might have problems with. After King left the Secret Service when the presidential candidate he was assigned to protect was assassinated, he got his law degree, which helps them now, and Maxwell is a “former Olympic athlete who uses her brains, beauty, and Beltway connections to solve cases.” Together, they make a dynamite team.
I got to see the pilot, and I really loved it. It’s absolutely right up my alley—a light, fun, cop show with excellent chemistry between the leads. I can’t wait to rewatch the pilot tonight and see all the new episodes.
On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” when a lawyer friend of Sean’s is mysteriously murdered, Sean decides to represent an autistic savant and accused serial killer his friend was defending in hopes of discovering what happened to him. Together, King and Maxwell discover a possible plot that has political repercussions.
Jump in with both feet and see if this is a show you’ll enjoy as much as I will tonight on TNT at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing Defiance, The Glades, Longmire, Warehouse 13, & The Winner Is….
Jump with us to see else we think you should watch.

Hard to believe that we’re down to the top 5 on The Voice, but it’s been an exciting season so far. I wasn’t very happy when Holly got eliminated last week, because I enjoyed her performances a lot. I’m still rooting for Amber because her voice is such a joy to listen to.
On tonight’s episode, “The Live Semi-Final Performances,” Usher performs live, and all five remaining artists give do-or-die performances in their quest to make the finals.
To see how your favorite does, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.
I’ll also be watching Teen Wolf, The Bachelorette, Major Crimes, King & Maxwell, Street Outlaws, and Mistresses.

Tonight, Major Crimes returns to TNT for the start of its second season. Last year, this Kyra-less version of The Closer took over the original series’ timeslot and did a great job of both maintaining the spirit of the original show, while also freshening it up a bit. The first season didn’t end in any kind of cliffhanger, so it’s just back to work as usual for the gang. However, one thing I liked about tonight’s premiere is that they haven’t forgotten the Rusty storyline/case that was used to launch the series—and the main reason that character is even in the show. (I also find it amusing the new series King & Maxwell airs right after Major Crimes—and stars the actor who used to play Kyra’s husband on The Closer.)
On tonight’s episode, “Final Cut,” the pregnant wife of a high-profile filmmaker is found slain in the couple’s pool. Meanwhile, the squad begins to run smoothly under Raydor’s leadership; and a new deputy D.A. questions Raydor’s intentions as Rusty’s guardian.
See if the start of Season 2 is as successful as Season 1 was tonight on TNT at 9/8c.
I’ll also be watching/recording The Winner Is…, The Goodwin Games, Switched at Birth, The Fosters, King & Maxwell, The Glades, Defiance, Warehouse 13, and Teen Wolf.
