If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/16/13

Welcome back to the oddly cool summer temperatures—at least in my part of the country. Not like it’s been in the 60s, or even 70s, but the mid- to high-80s in mid-July? Yeah, I’ll take it! I’ll also take how excited I am for tonight’s new night of television… Like…seriously excited. *squee* So check out what we’re recommending on such a great night!

covertaffairs716smallAmerica’s favorite spy is back! (No, sadly, not Alias, but a close second! 😉 ) Annie and Auggie, my favorite summer crime-fighting duo, return tonight in the new season of Covert Affairs. It’s a huge return, too, as fans of this adorable couple will remember that last season ended with him showing up at her door, explaining that he didn’t want to wait any longer, and then kissing. Of course, there was stuff going on with Arthur and Joan and Henry, etc. And that’s important, too. Really. But honestly? It’s Annie & Auggie!! Yay!

I’ve seen tonight’s premiere, and I promise fans of the couple will be overjoyed. It’s a really great episode, with drama, action, steamy romance, and mysteries galore. I can’t wait to watch it again tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Vamos,” while carrying on a search inside Colombia for a new person of interested named the Puma, Annie has the daunting task of balancing the two new relationships in her life: a growing romance with Auggie, and her professional partnership with Henry Wilcox. Hill Harper (CSI: NY) guest stars.

See what stories Henry tells and find out just who the Puma is tonight on USA Network at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Whose Line Is It Anyway?, America’s Got Talent, Rizzoli & Isles, & Chopped.

whoselinesmallI loved Whose Line Is It Anyway? when it was on air the first time—Wayne Brady always made me giggle. Now, The CW is bringing it back to our television tonight with three of the original cast: Wayne Brady, Ryan Stiles, and Colin Mochrie. Our new host is Aisha Tyler, and I’m curious to see how she measures up to Drew Carey. (No one will ever be as good.) For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, it’s an improv show, where the three regulars and one guest must put their comedic skills to the test through a series of spontaneous improv games, prompted only by random ideas supplied by the studio audience. It’s pure hilarity.

On tonight’s season premiere, cast members Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie, along with guest comic Gary Anthony Williams, perform for the audience. Guest appearance from The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan. Then in the second episode, guest comedian Heather Ann Campbell joins the cast, along with a guest appearance from Glee’s Kevin McHale.

To get your giggle on, tune in to The CW at 8/7c & 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching Perfect Score and Chopped.

suits716smallTonight, Suits returns for its third season. Last season, Jessica had secretly planned a merger with a British firm behind Harvey’s back, and despite Harvey’s attempt to stop it, it went through. Rachel asked Mike for a recommendation to Harvard, but he had to finally admit the truth to her—which led to a slap followed by sex in the file room. And Louis was at odds with Nigel, his counterpart from the British firm.

There was a lot of betrayal last season—can the members of the firm come back together? What will this merger mean for the firm—will there be redundancies? What other changes will come about? And what will happen now that Rachel knows Mike’s secret?

On tonight’s episode, “The Arrangement,” new partner Darby assigns Harvey a high-stakes case. Elsewhere, Mike tries to make things right with Harvey and deal with the fallout from his revelation to Rachel.

Suit up and see if Mike can salvage everything he’s worked for tonight on USA Network at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis, Chopped, Rizzoli & Isles, Perception, Covert Affairs, and Drunk History.
