If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/30/13

How’s the weather where you are? I had rain off and on all day Monday, and Megan lost power Monday night. But at least for me, it was NICE and COOL. It was great weather to curl up in front of the TV and catch up on shows I was behind on. Hopefully we’ll have some great weather for that tonight, because there’s some good stuff on. We’re here to tell you what we’re planning to watch so you know what YOU should be watching. 😀

Jenny’s Choice

whoselinesmallI’m SO enjoying having Whose Line Is It Anyway? back on my TV. The guys on there are phenomenal. They blow my mind every episode with just how easy they make that stuff seem, when in reality, I’m sure it’s REALLY hard to come up with that stuff off the cuff like they do. We got fabulous news today, too. It’s been renewed for a 24-episode season 2! Woohoo! To celebrate, curl up with the two new episodes tonight. 😉

On the first episode, “Kyle Richards,” Jonathan Mangum (who I’ve interviewed and was a really nice guy!) is the guest comedian, along with guest star Kyle Richards, from The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Then on the second episode, “Synchronized Swimmers,” another really funny guy, Jeff Davis, is the guest comedian, along with guest stars Mary Killman and Mariya Koroleva, U.S. Olympic synchronized swimmers.

Laugh along with me tonight on The CW at 8/7c & again at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Got Talent, Covert Affairs, Rizzoli & Isles, & Chopped.

Jump with us to see else we think you should watch.

capturesmallTonight, The CW kicks off an all-new reality competition series, Capture, that looks and sounds an awful lot like a real-life Hunger Games. Twelve teams of two enter the Hunting Grounds—a vast high-tech compound built in the middle of the wilderness. Each week, some of the teams will be designated as the Hunters, while the others are the Prey. The Prey are given limited food and supplies and must keep moving or the Hunters—who have lots of high-tech gadgets at their disposal—will be alerted to their positions. If hunger and exhaustion overwhelms them, the Prey can risk making their way to the Supply Station, but they may find the Hunters waiting for them. Once the Hunters find and capture two of the teams, the rest of the teams vote on which of them should stay and which of them should go. In the end, only one team will walk away with the $250,000 prize.

On tonight’s episode, “The Hunt Begins,” twelve teams of two enter the Hunting Grounds to compete in a cat and mouse competition for $250,000.

To find out if this show’s a winner or a dud, tune in to The CW at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis, Chopped, Rizzoli & Isles, Perception, Covert Affairs, and Suits.

JJ’s Choice

sytycdlogosmallSo far, this season of So You Think You Can Dance has been great, especially because of the contestants. As far as the guys go, Aaron and Tucker are my favorites, and for the girls, it’s Jasmine and Alexis (although, I haven’t been able to “decide” if they will win it in the end). The guest judges this season, though, are a bit of a miss. Last week, Carly Rae Jepsen was just so standard. The episode before, Paula was a bit boring as well. Tonight, it’s Anna Kendrick’s turn, and although I really like her, I expect only praise, and that really doesn’t help any of the contestants improve, but I hope I’m wrong.

On tonight’s episode, the 14 remaining contestants compete for votes before 2 more are eliminated.

Find out who and watch Anna Kendrick judge on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Whose Line Is It Anyway? (both episodes, and yes, this is new on my list), Suits, and Web Therapy (new on my list since Lisa Kudrow mentioned it on Hollywood Game Night).
