If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/13/13

Wow. It’s back to school today for my sophomore in high school. I swear, time flies! I remember so much from the day he was born. It’s hard to believe he’s almost ready to drive! To console myself about him growing up that fast, I’m going to park myself in front of the TV and escape from the real world for a while. Kyle & I have some recommendations on good ways to do that if you’re looking to do the same. 😉

Jenny’s Choice

littlecouple528smallI just started watching The Little Couple at the beginning of this season, and I really enjoy it. Bill & Jen are just too sweet and cute together—and unlike Matt & Amy from Little People, Big World, there isn’t tension there every time we see them. When we last left them at the mid-season finale, they’d just taken custody of their new adopted son Will, from China. We didn’t get to see them bring him home, which is what tonight’s mid-season premiere is about. They are looking forward to the future, too, since they’re also adopting a little girl they’ve named Zoey, from India! Really fun stuff!

On tonight’s episode, “Welcome Home, Will!” Jen and Bill return to the States as new parents and experience family firsts.

To see how Will adjusts to his new home and new life, tune in to the one-hour mid-season premiere tonight on TLC at 10/9c.

I’ll also b e watching/DVRing So You Think You Can Dance, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, America’s Got Talent, Capture, Covert Affairs, Rizzoli & Isles, & Chopped.

cosplaysmallTonight, Syfy kicks off the new 6-part docu-series Heroes of Cosplay. The series takes a look into the world of those die-hard folks who dress up in costumes and compete at conventions all around the world. These folks run the gamut—from superstars-turned-judges like Yaya Han, to relative newcomers who have only been competing for five years. Each episode documents the preparation and competition these talented hopefuls go through as they make their way around the convention circuit.

I was surprised at how fascinating I found tonight’s premiere—it was really interesting to see how seriously these folks take these competitions and all of the hard work they put into their costumes and roles. The end result is some pretty amazing costumes and a glimpse into this whole other side of comic-book conventions that I never really partake in while at SDCC!

On tonight’s episode, “Wizard World of Portland,” six passionate fans prepare for the debut of Wizard World in Portland, Oregon.

Watch the zany fun tonight on Syfy at 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Capture, Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis, Chopped, Rizzoli & Isles, Perception, Covert Affairs, Suits, and Face Off.
