While I write this, I am also running over a menu plan and a list of errands I need to complete by the end of the day. It’s the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, and I have family and friends coming from out of town—as usual, I am completely not ready. I have an issue of taking on more than one person can do in a short period of time. 🙂 Tonight, I’m going to relax and catch up on some TV if I don’t pass out from exhaustion first, so let’s see what’s on.
Megan’s Choice
Blue Bloods always manages to pull on my heart strings and still deliver a quality story. Last week, we watched as Danny helped out a famous actor (guest star Marc Blucas) keep his sexual life secret after he was stabbed during an encounter. As always, Danny was able to solve the case while still keeping his victims safe—have I mentioned I love Danny? 🙂 Also during this episode, Frank decided it was time to take a more hands-on approach with his officers, and he ended up learning a lot in the process. It was so sweet when he found that captain at home caring for his dying wife, and then was kind and sweet to her. That was a real good portrayal of Frank’s true character. Such a hero.
On tonight’s episode, “To Serve and Protect,” Danny takes the role of hostage negotiator when Erin is held at gunpoint in a courtroom.

I’ve been amazed at the level of skill the kids have on MasterChef: Junior. These kids really know their stuff. In fact, I’d wager that a lot of what they’ve made so far has rivaled dishes the adults do on the original MasterChef. Most of them, if not all, have an innate talent in knowing how to season, how to make the best versions of their dishes, and just in general, how to cook. It truly is fun to watch them. The kids are a hoot. The worst part of the show is when one of the kids gets sent home. The adults aren’t good about controlling their tears and emotions, and the kids don’t do as well at that, and it’s so sad to watch them trying to be strong even as they look heartbroken.
On tonight’s episode, “Whip It,” the junior home cooks test the laws of physics by whipping liquid cream by hand, and to determine the stiffness of the whipped cream, they each hold their bowl of whipped cream over the judges’ heads. The contestant whose whipped cream remains in the bowl gets an advantage in the next round, while the others get to slime the judges! Later, the contestants pair up in a tag-team Beef Wellington challenge, during which they take turns to prepare Gordon’s classic recipe and two sides.

Last week was another fun episode of The Neighbors, where Jackie had the family pretend to be British to impress her new boss in order get a promotion. They, of course, took it way over the top, mimicking famous Brits and putting on some ‘orrible accents—but that’s what made it all so hilarious! Now that Larry has decided to help out financially, it will be interesting to see what type of job he gets—and what kind of craziness ensues during the application process. I can’t wait to see what the Bird-Kersees and Weavers get up to tonight!
On tonight’s episode, “The One With Interspecies F-R-I-E-N-D-S,” Debbie gets a new hairdo when she accompanies Jackie to her favorite salon. Meanwhile, Amber and Reggie bond over nature documentaries as they continue to explore their biological differences; and Dick tries to help Marty get in shape, but his plan results in an injury that gives Larry a revealing look at the health-care system on Earth.
