The countdown has begun—not only to Christmas, but to the fall finales of all our favorites. Most shows are wrapping up this week (or have wrapped up already) for the year, not to return until January. There’s still a lot on, though, so I’ve got plenty to keep me company. Here’s what not only I recommend, but everyone else, as well. 🙂

There were so many great new comedies this year, but one of my favorites has to be FOX’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The show’s Thanksgiving episode was cute. Amy wanted to host dinner for the entire squad, but it kind of turned out to be a disaster. She can’t cook (the description of using baking soda instead of salt was hysterical), so everyone ended up throwing the food into the toilet (thereby backing it up), including the whole turkey. *laugh* Meanwhile, Jake tried everything to get out of going, but when they did end up having dinner together at the precinct, even he had a good time. The only part I didn’t like was the stuff with Terry being so out of control about being hungry and having to EAT RIGHT THEN. It got old pretty quickly. The rest, though, was great. One of my favorite parts was Gina giving Capt. Holt a copy of Amy’s “speech,” hoping to embarrass her, but it turned out to be a good thing for Amy, and Gina admitted that it was good, even though that wasn’t what she wanted.
I really adore this show and I look forward to it each and every week. It’s kind of funny because we jump from the Thanksgiving episode from Nov. 26 to the Christmas episode tonight, Dec. 3. Fun! Unfortunately, that means this is the last episode for a month. Boo!
On tonight’s episode, “Christmas,” Captain Holt receives death threats and Jake is put in charge of his security, a job he enjoys and abuses as much as he can. Meanwhile, Amy attempts to get the precinct to take a Christmas photo for Holt, but a lack of enthusiasm and Rosa’s refusal to smile defeats her efforts. Also, Sergeant Terry Jeffords gets his mojo back.
See what lengths Jake will go to in order to keep Captain Holt safe tonight on FOX at 8:30/7:30c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, Marshal Law: Texas, & Chicago Fire.

This past weekend, I took great advantage of my kid-free time and watched all of the episodes of The Mindy Project I had sitting on my DVR. Let me tell you… I am SO happy I did! Honestly, how could I forget how much I love this show? Mindy’s love life amuses me to no end, although I’m torn on wanting her with Danny or with that hot lawyer, Cliff. Tough decision. Last episode with the wedding was adorable. Mindy looked gorgeous, and Peter looked hot. My favorite moment of the last few episodes was the one where Peter and Morgan were sexting Cliff, pretending to be Mindy. That went awry very quickly, but it made for some awesome television.
On tonight’s episode, “Christmas Party Sex Trap,” Mindy plans a Christmas party in order to spend more time with Cliff; Brendan’s date steals Mindy’s thunder when she performs a sexy dance.
To see if Mindy gets kissed under the mistletoe, tune in to FOX at 9:30/8:30c.
I’ll also be watching The Voice, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Trophy Wife, The Goldbergs, and Dads.

It’s been a few weeks since we had a new episode of Trophy Wife. In the last episode, Bert was sent home from school after he was discovered with lice. So the whole family was rounded up to be deloused—which caused some friction between Kate and Diane, both of whom wanted to take charge of the situation. Meanwhile, Pete found Warren’s old stuffed animal, “Beary White,” hidden by his headboard. While Warren had previously agreed to give up the toy to Bert, he now wanted it back, so Pete held a custody hearing between the two “parents.”
This show continues to be so much fun—this family feels so realistic, yet it resembles no family I know. The situations are always hilarious, and I love the interesting family dynamic. Tuesdays have become such a great night for comedies, and Trophy Wife is always one of the highlights.
On tonight’s episode, “Russ Bradley Morrison,” Kate tries to set up Diane with another parent on a field trip. Meanwhile, Hillary helps Bert get on his teacher’s good side.
Find out if Diane meets her match tonight on ABC at 9:31/8:31c.
I’ll also be watching/recording The Goldbergs, What Would You Do?, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mindy Project, Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy, and Naked Vegas.

This season of Awkward has been very dark and broody, and some of the nastier parts of Jenna have really come to light. To me, it was a little sudden, but it also has been a long time coming, and I can appreciate a show that takes this route! Now that Jenna has seen how her behavior has been, it will be an interesting road to redemption.
On tonight’s episode, “Old Jenna,” while Jenna is back on good terms with her girlfriends, she believes she is ready to get back together with Matty.
To see if Jenna and Matty get back together, tune in to MTV at 10:30/9:30c.
I’ll also be watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine (newly binge-watched the first 10 episodes and love it) and The Mindy Project.
