If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/16/13

I finally got a new laptop this weekend, which was long overdue—my old one crashed about 10 times in one use. A big thank you to my fiancé for giving it to me as an early Christmas present. I’m a lucky girl! Now, while I try to figure out how to work my new toy, let’s see what’s on tonight.

Megan’s Choice #1

thevoice2013smallWe have reached the final night of competition on The Voice, with the final three singers laying it all on the stage tonight for your votes. Two of my favorites made it through to the finals: Will and Tessanne. I’d be happy with either of them winning. I really hope that Jacquie doesn’t win, because honestly, she’s quite boring and cookie cutter.

On tonight’s episode, “Live Final Performances,” the remaining artists perform for America’s votes for the last time.

To see if these performers can deliver the performances of a lifetime, tune in to NBC tonight at 8/7c.

Jenny’s Choice

himym1216smallThis final season of How I Met Your Mother has been very different: The entire season is taking place over the course of the weekend leading up to Barney & Robin’s wedding. I wasn’t sure how that would work, especially since Marshall has been away from the group the entire season (until tonight. 😉 ). While I’ve found it odd, I’ve also been enjoying it, so I suppose that’s what counts. On the last new episode, two weeks ago, it was all about the rehearsal dinner. Barney was driving Robin nuts. He just knew she’d planned it at the laser tag center. She was getting extremely annoyed, but in the end, she fell in love with him all over again because it was all a setup, and Barney had turned the ice rink into a tribute to Robin and brought Canada to her (including Canadian Alan Thicke, who’s guest starred several times over the course of the series). It was incredibly sweet.

On tonight’s episode, “Bass Player Wanted,” the gang encounters a guy at the wedding who intentionally stirs up trouble among them, and Marshall finally arrives at the Farhampton Inn. Andrew Rannells (The New Normal) guest stars.

See what trouble the guy starts tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Almost Human, 2 Broke Girls, The Great Christmas Light Fight, Major Crimes, Mike & Molly, & Diners, Drive-ins & Dives.

Megan’s Choice #2

allhuman1216smallWhen Almost Human premiered, I was very excited because TV needed some more adventure, and this show brings it. I really enjoy the cast and the whole idea of the story. My only complaint so far is that they seem to be airing the episodes out of order, so at times, it seems a little bit confusing. Then again, that could just be me. 🙂 Last week, we watched as they figured out that Avery did indeed have clones and the boys really knocked this arrest and case out of the park. Dorian and Kennex are becoming more and more of a team, which is really helping the overall vibe of the show.

On tonight’s episode, “Arrhythmia,” Det. Kennex and Dorian investigate a suspicious death at a hospital that is linked to a black market for vital organs.

To see if they save the day, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Mom, The Sing-Off, Mike & Molly, 2 Broke Girls, and Hostages.
