If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/6/14

Holy cow, it’s cold! I thought Megan would be coldest, being up in Canada, but as I write this on Sunday night, I’m in Kansas, and I’m sitting at a brisk 4°F, while Megan is at 31°F & Kyle is at 37°F. So yeah, be scared, people. Imma send this freezing cold your way! 😉 On a good note, I’ll be nice and toasty while I curl up to watch all the great TV on tonight! 🙂 Check out what Kyle & I are recommending.

Jenny’s Choice

castle16smallCastle’s back, baby! The last new episode was way back on November 25! That’s a dang long time ago. In that ep, a dying man stumbled into a church, collapsing as he thrust the baby he was carrying at the priest. Beckett & Castle were adorable taking charge of the baby as they tried to locate the parents. That led them to sort of have a talk about kids. The case turned out to be all about a lottery scam, which was very clever, but not clever enough for our crime fighters. I’m so glad to have Beckett back to work and everyone to be working together as a team again. Now if we could just get rid of Pi and make Alexis a good, sweet kid again… LOL

On tonight’s episode, “Under Fire,” when Castle and Beckett discover that the victim of a building fire was actually shot to death, they get on the trail of a serial arsonist turned murderer. Meanwhile, Ryan’s wife, Jenny, goes into labor, but disaster threatens to ruin the joyous moment. Juliana Dever, Wendy Davis, & Nic Bishop guest star.

Find out if Jenny & the baby are okay if the team can track down the killer arsonist tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Almost Human, Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, Major Crimes, Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off, Bakery Boss, & Mystery Diners.

Kyle’s Choice

teenwolf16smallTonight, MTV’s Teen Wolf returns for the second half of its extended third season. When we last saw Scott and his crew, it was the lunar eclipse and the werewolves were without their powers. Once the eclipse has passed, Scott’s eyes glowed red, showing that he had become an Alpha. Meanwhile, Jennifer (as the Darach) fixed Deucalion’s eyesight, but he thanked her by attacking and killing her. Scott and Derek ultimately decided to let Deucalion go without a fight. However, shortly afterwards, we learned that Jennifer was not actually dead, and she could be seen pleading with Peter to help her once again. She told Peter she knew his plan was to steal Scott’s Alpha powers, but as he slashed Jennifer with his claws, Peter screamed, “I am the Alpha. I’ve always been the Alpha.”

So where does this leave our gang? Is Peter their ultimate enemy for this half of the season, and will he be going after Scott? Or will Deucalion return and make them regret letting him go? What will happen with Scott now that he’s an Alpha? And what about the rest of the Alpha pack? It looks like we’re in for another exciting 12 episodes.

On tonight’s episode, “Anchors,” strange side effects plague Scott, Stiles, and Allison.

To see what side effects are worrying the group, tune in to MTV at 10/9c.

Note: Following tonight’s episode is the premiere of the weekly Wolf Watch after-show, where the cast will discuss the night’s episode.

I’ll also be watching/recording Hostages, Castle, Almost Human, Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off, and Major Crimes.
