Tonight is the series premiere of True Detective on HBO at 9/8c. In 2012, Louisiana State Police Detectives Rust Cohle and Martin Hart are brought in to revisit a homicide case they worked in 1995. As the inquiry unfolds in present day through separate interrogations, the two former detectives narrate the story of their investigation, reopening unhealed wounds, and drawing into question their supposed solving of a bizarre ritualistic murder in 1995. The timelines braid and converge in 2012 as each man is pulled back into a world they believed they’d left behind. In learning about each other and their killer, it becomes clear that darkness lives on both sides of the law.

Tonight is also the series premiere of 90 Day Fiance on TLC at 10/9c. It’s a tale as old as time … boy & girl meet, boy & girl fall in love, girl gets special visa to visit the United States, boy & girl only have 90 days to decide the rest of their lives: get married or go back home. In this new series, viewers follow as five couples explore the complicated world of international romance. Four of the relationships will play out through six one-hour episodes on TLC, while one relationship journey will air exclusively on TLC.com. Using a unique visa (known as a K-1 Visa) available to foreign fiancés of American citizens, these women have the opportunity to travel to the US to live with their prospective husbands for the first time. The couples must marry before their visas expire in 90 days or else the women must immediately leave the US and return to their countries. In addition to living together for the first time, these couples must overcome language barriers, culture shock, the stigma of being thought of as a “Mail Order Bride,” and skeptical friends and family – all with the ticking clock starting the moment they step foot on US soil. Taking the life-altering chance on a cross-border romance, these foreign brides-to-be and their potential husbands will discover if their happily ever after is meant to be.

Tonight is the series premiere of Bitten on Syfy at 10/9c. Based on the New York Times best-selling “Women of the Otherworld” novels by Kelley Armstrong, the 13-episode series is an emotionally charged supernatural thriller starring Laura Vandervoort (Smallville, Ted) as Elena Michaels, the lone female werewolf in existence. Desperate to escape both a world she never wanted to be part of and the man who turned her into a werewolf, Elena (Vandervoort) has abandoned her Pack and taken refuge in a new city. There, she works as a photographer and hides her werewolf existence from her new boyfriend. When bodies start turning up in her Pack’s backyard, Elena finds herself back at Stonehaven, the werewolves’ ancestral domain. Torn between two worlds and two loves, she quickly realizes that – when push comes to shove – she’ll stop at nothing to defend her Pack. Bitten also stars Greg Bryk (A History of Violence) as werewolf Pack “Alpha” Jeremy Danvers, Greyston Holt (Alcatraz) as Elena’s werewolf ex-boyfriend Clayton Danvers, and Paul Greene (The Client List) as Elena’s current beau, Philip McAdams.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Don’t Trust Andrew Mayne on A&E at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. The show features the wildly innovative, mischief-loving magician Andrew Mayne, as he sets out to reinvent revenge. His illusions are mind blowing, but what he loves most is helping people get even. From explosions, to disappearing cars and slight-of-hand, Andrew’s charm and wit leaves unsuspecting men and women in disbelief. Andrew Mayne has worked behind-the-scenes for some of the world’s top magicians, and now it’s his turn to show viewers what he’s got. On his mission to help people teach a lesson to those who’ve wronged them, he sets his mark for mischief and uses in-your-face street magic and large scale “knock your socks off” illusions with each assignment. With one large illusion and five smaller illusions per episode, Andrew shows us why he is one of the most prolific magic creators of the last decade.

Tonight is series premiere of Chozen on FX at 10:30/9:30c. This is an animated comedy about its title character, “Chozen,” a gay white rapper fresh out of prison. Armed with a new message, Chozen is on a quest for redemption and to claim his rightful position as the world’s top rap artist. His music and lyrics take aim at the stereotypes of machismo and misogyny that is synonymous with rap music. And his new world view has been shaped by his time in prison. The voice cast features Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, Michael Pena, Nick Swardson, Kathryn Hahn, and Method Man.

Tonight is the 90-minute series premiere of Under the Gunn on Lifetime at 9/8c. With a new Emmy(R) Award in hand, Tim Gunn takes the reigns as host of Lifetime’s new fashion competition series. America’s favorite mentor, Tim passes the torch to Project Runway alumni Mondo Guerra, Anya Ayoung-Chee, and Nick Verreos, who have shown their prowess on the runway as contestants, but now must prove they have the vision and business savvy to mentor and manage a fashion empire with 15 new up-and-coming designers under their watch. Each mentor will have a team of designers they must manage, coach, cheerlead and, when necessary, knock down with tough love in order to lead them to runway success. This new crop of designers will face the critiques of designer Rachel Roy, celebrity stylist Jen Rade, creator of some of the most iconic red carpet looks in Hollywood, and TV fashion correspondent and Marie Claire Senior Fashion Editor Zanna Roberts Rassi.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Party Down South on CMT at 10/9c. This new one-hour, 10-episode series follows eight young, brazen adults for one wild summer of extreme fun. Their summer vacation spot, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, may never be the same after these fast friends work, party and bond with one another over their common love of the South.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Jerks with Cameras on MTV at 10:30/9:30c. This fast-paced prank show features a team of eight quick-thinking comedians, also known as The Jerks, who take to the streets to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting public. Using both hidden and unhidden cameras, The Jerks are reinventing the prank format. The Jerks’ cameras capture the raw reactions of their stunned victims – laughter, shock, anger. It’s all good. Then they take their pranks back to the studio with host Tone Bell and share laughs with a live audience. The battle for Jerk supremacy comes to a head when Tone sets the stage for the ultimate jerk competition – The Jerk-Off, where all the Jerks present the same prank, and the audience decides who did it best. The Jerk with the most outrageous, clever and hilarious execution of the prank walks away with the ultimate prize – Jerk bragging rights.
