If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/12/14

Ahh, Sunday. It’s still the weekend, which is great, but it’s also all downhill from here. *laugh* There’s some great stuff on this week, though, including tonight, so that helps. Kyle & I are here to tell you our recommendations for tonight, so curl up & enjoy!

thementalist112smallLast week on The Mentalist, Jane was back to being…well, Jane. He met a witness on the case they were working and it seemed like he was interested in her—although neither Lisbon, nor Fischer thought the woman was his type. Turns out, they were right (we knew that…their joke about wondering what really IS his type was funny, given that they look very similar and he’s attracted to both of them. LOL), and the pretty blonde was the big bad guy. In the end, Jane almost got caught on the wrong end of a bullet, but Cho and the FBI flew up just in time to stop her from shooting him—not before Jane jumped in the water to escape what he thought would be gunshots, though. It’ll be interesting to see the dynamic between the two women and between each of them and Jane…especially when Lisbon gets a love interest later this season (which kind of ticks me off, since I thought after the Red John stuff was wrapped up, we’d FINALLY get to see some Jane/Lisbon stuff! Bah!).

On tonight’s episode, “The Golden Hammer,” Jane and the FBI investigate the murder of a high-tech cartographer who may have unearthed a spy ring before his death. Meanwhile, Rigsby and Van Pelt find themselves on the trail of an alarming conspiracy. Navid Negahban (Homeland) & Travis Schuldt (Scrubs) guest star.

Welcome Rigsby & Van Pelt back tonight on CBS at 10/9c (or later, depending on football).

I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Funniest Home Videos, Guy’s Grocery Games, Chopped, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

goldenglobessmallTonight, I’ll be watching The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards. While I find the awards themselves a bit meaningless and arbitrary—after all, it’s only 90 people who actually vote!—it’s one of the few award shows where you can see the cast and creators of both TV and movies all in the same room. (Although, that line between the two gets more and more blurred all the time!) The main reason I’m tuning in tonight is for Amy Poehler and Tina Fey—they are both hilarious and even more fun together!

To see who takes home the statues tonight, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Good Wife, The Mentalist, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Downton Abbey, Guy’s Grocery Games, Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, True Detective, Shameless, and Episodes.
