Tonight is the series premiere of #RichKids of Beverly Hills on E! at 10/9c. Luxury. Style. Drama. Jet-Setting. Fun-employed. Fashion. Welcome to the lives of the most elite young socialites and stars of E!’s new series. The show follows the extravagant lifestyles of an exclusive clique of friends who have gained internet celebrity by documenting their fabuluxe daily happenings on social media. Morgan Stewart, Dorothy Wang, Roxy Sowlaty, Brendan Fitzpatrick, and Jonny Drubel round out the dramatic but fun-loving children of some of the wealthiest billionaire and millionaire moguls who are welcoming E! cameras into their VIP world.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Looking on HBO at 10:30/9:30c. The show offers up the unfiltered experiences of three close friends living — and loving — in modern-day San Francisco. Friendship may bind them, but each is at a markedly different point in his journey: Patrick (Jonathan Groff) is the 29-year-old video game designer getting back into the dating world in the wake of his ex’s engagement; aspiring artist Augustin (Frankie J. Alvarez), 31, is questioning the idea of monogamy amid a move to domesticate with his boyfriend; and the group’s oldest member — longtime waiter Dom (Murray Bartlett), 39 — is facing middle age with romantic and professional dreams still unfulfilled.) The trio’s stories intertwine and unspool dramatically as they search for happiness and intimacy in an age of unparalleled choices — and rights — for gay men. Also important to the show’s mix is the progressive, unpredictable, sexually open culture of the Bay Area, with real San Francisco locations serving as a backdrop for the group’s lives. Rounding out the show’s world are a bevy of dynamic gay men including Kevin (Russell Tovey), Lynn (Scott Bakula), and Richie (Raul Castillo), as well as a wide-range of supporting characters like Dom’s roommate Doris (Lauren Weedman), Augustin’s boyfriend Frank (O.T. Fagbenle), and Patrick’s co-worker Owen (Andrew Law).

Tonight is the series premiere of the 3-part mini-series, Klondike. Discovery’s first scripted mini-series, announced last year, is based on Charlotte Gray’s book, “Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich in the Klondike.” Her tale brings to life the story of six strangers and their collective fight for survival and wealth in a small frontier town in the remote Klondike. The mini-series follows the lives of two childhood best friends, Bill and Epstein, in the late 1890s as they flock to the gold rush capital in the untamed Yukon Territory. This man-versus-nature tale places our heroes in a land full of undiscovered wealth, but ravaged by harsh conditions, unpredictable weather and desperate, dangerous characters including greedy businessmen, seductive courtesans and native tribes witnessing the destruction of their people and land by opportunistic entrepreneurs. The show stars Abbie Cornish, Augustus Prew, Chris Cooper, Conor Leslie, Ian Hart, Johnny Simmons, Marton Csokas, Richard Madden, Sam Shepard, Tim Blake Nelson, & Tim Roth.

Tonight is the series premiere of Opposite Worlds on Syfy at 10/9c. The show is a competitive reality series, airing Tuesdays at 10/9c and Wednesdays (LIVE!). Fourteen people face off on opposing teams that live in a house separated into two distinctly different worlds: one past and one future, each with its own unique advantages and disadvantages. Adding to the drama is a glass wall dividing the house into the two environments, allowing the teams to watch, envy and dread each other’s every move. Every week, cast members compete in a series of fast-paced challenges that determine where each team lives, as well as who stays….and who goes home. Amidst all of this, viewers will be asked to participate in real time on Twitter and affect the outcome of each player’s fate.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Are You the One? on MTV at 11/10c. If your perfect match was standing right in front of you, would you even know it? In the most ambitious dating experiment ever attempted, that question will be answered as contestants compete in a series of challenges designed to test the intelligence of their heart. “Are You The One” begins by selecting 10 beautiful single women from across the US. Using the most extensive matchmaking process ever seen, 10 men will be found and perfectly matched for these women. But the results aren’t revealed to them. Now all 20 people are living together in Hawaii where they share one objective: Find their PERFECT MATCH. Each week, the group will follow their hearts and lock in a choice of who they think is their PERFECT MATCH. If all 20 people find their perfect match within 10 tries, they’ll all split $1 MILLION!

Tonight is the series premiere of Broad City on Comedy Central at 10:30/9:30c. The show, created by UCB alums Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer and produced by Amy Poehler, is an odd-couple comedy about two best friends navigating their twenties in New York City. Abbi and Ilana are broke and flawed, and they don’t shy away from the sticky situations NYC throws at them — they dive right into the muck. But no matter how bad it gets, these young broads are always down with whatever hits them.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Wahlburgers on A&E at 10:30/9:30c. The show gives a behind-the-scenes look into one of Boston’s most well-known families, the Wahlbergs. Brothers Mark and Donnie head back to their hometown to join forces with their professed “most talented sibling,” Paul, in their tasty business venture. An homage to their humble beginnings, the hamburger restaurant is home base for the gang from the old neighborhood, including the real Johnny “Drama” and of course their spirited mother Alma.

Tonight is the series premiere of The Fighters on Discovery Channel at 9/8c. South Boston, known as Southie to its natives, is one of the toughest neighborhoods in the nation. For a group of dedicated young men who live there, boxing is not only a pastime — it’s a lifeline. Still, over the past 20 years, the sport’s popularity has been declining dramatically. In this new series, gym owner and former fighter Peter Welch enlists the city’s top trainers in the fight to revive boxing in Boston.

Tonight is the series premiere of Rake on FOX at 9/8c. A bold new legal drama based on the Australian Film Institute Award nominee for Best Television Drama series of the same name, the show follows the comedic and chaotic life of criminal defense lawyer Keegan Deane (Greg Kinnear). On a single day, Keegan Deane is described as many things – most of which are far from flattering. His ex-wife calls him “unreliable”; to his fellow lawyers he’s “an obstruction”; judges think he’s “an outrage”; the IRS calls him a “defendant”; his bookie says he’s a “pain in the ass”; and to his former dealer, he’s simply a “tragic loss.” Brilliant and frustratingly charming, Keegan is one of life’s great addicts. His staggering lack of discretion and inability to self-censor land him the cases that nobody else will touch, but behind that lies a resolute optimism and belief in justice that fuel his dogged determination to defend those who seem beyond redemption. He always tries to do the right thing, but at the same time struggles to save himself from the many self-destructive elements that plague his own life, such as his overindulgence in women, gambling and other excesses.
Keegan gets a majority of his cases from Ben Leon (John Ortiz), his best friend since law school. Ben is married to Scarlet (Necar Zadegan), another of Keegan’s old friends and, as Assistant District Attorney for the city of Los Angeles, quite often his opponent in court. In addition to Keegan’s cases within the justice system, the series follows his personal trials and tribulations, including his mounting debt to his bookie and his overlapping liaisons with various women, including Melissa “Mikki” Partridge (Bojana Novakovic), Keegan’s favorite prostitute and de-facto love interest. Also among his predicaments is his ongoing battle with the IRS, especially as prosecuted by David Potter (David Harbour), an IRS tax attorney who looks ten years younger than he is, earning him the nickname (bestowed by Keegan) “Harry” – as in “Harry Potter.” But always there to help Keegan clean up his mess is Leanne Zander (Tara Summers), his extremely put-upon, no-nonsense assistant. Meanwhile, Keegan’s ex-wife, Maddy (Miranda Otto), a psychologist by profession, begrudgingly acts as his therapist. She also is the mother of their hormonal son, Finn (Ian Colletti), who displays many of the same proclivities as his father. Each morning, Keegan tends to wake up bruised – physically, emotionally, spiritually. Usually, it’s a combination of them all. Then it’s out into the world – onto the battleground of Keegan’s day.

Saturday

Saturday is the series premiere of Black Sails on Starz at 9/8c. 1715. The Golden Age of Piracy. New Providence Island is a lawless territory, controlled by history’s most notorious pirate captains. The most feared is Captain Flint. As the British Navy returns to redeem their land and exterminate Flint and his crew, another side of him emerges. Captain Flint aligns himself with Eleanor Guthrie, daughter of the local kingpin, to hunt the ultimate prize and ensure their survival. Many opponents stand in their way: rival captains, jealous of Flint’s power; Eleanor’s ambitious and intrusive father; and a young sailor recently recruited onto Flint’s crew, John Silver, who constantly undermines his captain’s agenda.

Tonight is also a new episode of Saturday Night Live on NBC at 11:29/10:29c, with host Jonah Hill and musical guest Bastille.
