If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/12/14

The cold weather’s done a number on a lot of people. My lips are so dry and cracked, they’re killing me. My friend slipped on icy concrete steps and is now wearing a hard splint—her wrist isn’t broken, but she’ll have to go back and check to see if she tore anything. Poor friend. 🙁 So be careful out there, because the cold weather can be dangerous! Take our recommendations below and stay in to watch TV! 😉

theexes212smallI love The Exes, and this season’s been great. The one thing I’m unhappy about, though, is that Eden and Phil broke up. Maybe they’ll get back together in the future, but the show is fun and funny regardless. Last week, Holly was injured after she fell in the bathtube, and Eden and Haskell were roped into taking care of her—Holly guilted them by reminding Haskell that it was his bath stuff she slipped on and reminding Eden that Holly took care of her when she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she was…not the easiest patient, and Eden and Haskell tried to drug her to get her to sleep. When Holly refused to eat the pudding they’d made her, Haskell accidentally ingested a bite, which put him right out. Holly realized what had happened, and Eden decided to follow Haskell, so she started scarfing the pudding down. It was kind of silly because Haskell went down after one bite, while Eden was still standing after four or five. But whatever. 😉 Meanwhile, Phil slept with one of Nicki’s old friends, and he found out after that she was not long away from taking her vows to become a nun. He freaked out. But it turned out that sleeping with him simply reinforced her decision, rather than changed her mind. I like Leah Remini, but I kinda miss Holly hanging out with the guys. *shrug*

On tonight’s episode, “When Haskell Met Sammy,” Holly accidentally sets Haskell up with a gay man. Stuart helps Phil get over his fear of funerals. Leah Remini, Roger Bart (Desperate Housewives), & Ed Quinn (Eureka) guest star.

See what happens when Haskell meets the…man of his dreams tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Melissa & Joey, Buy This Restaurant, & Men at Work.

superfunnightsmallSuper Fun Night continues to be a great light in my weekly TV schedule, with its quirky and random humor. Last week, we watched as Kimmie tried to become more professional after she was late for a big meeting and ended up body surfing on a mail cart. She goes as far as to ask everyone to call her Kimberly instead of Kimmie, and she upsets the girls by saying that their cookie prom is stupid and childish. Overall, it was a fantastic episode, and I can’t wait to see more of this great comedy.

On tonight’s episode, “Lesbihonest,” Kimmie celebrates her first Valentine’s Day with a boyfriend.

To see who needs to be honest about their sexuality, tune in to ABC at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching Baby Daddy, American Idol, and Opposite Worlds.

meljoey2012smallOn last week’s Melissa & Joey, Mel won an 8-course chef’s table dinner in a raffle and decided to get in shape before the big meal. She convinced Joe to teach her exercise class, but he took “Longo Fit” a bit (too) seriously and kicked Mel out of the class for being disruptive. Later that evening, Joe got into a heated argument with the chef (played by guest Robert Irvine) over proper cooking techniques and was kicked out of the kitchen. Meanwhile, Lennox and Zander had decided to break up just before they learned that someone wanted to buy their web series.

What I like about Melissa & Joey is that it knows what works and sticks with it. The show has a classic TGIF feel, and you can always count on it for a few laughs and a fun way to pass a half hour. At the same time, the characters and relationships have developed over the years, and it’s nice to finally see Mel and Joe together and actively pursuing a relationship.

On tonight’s episode, “Plus One,” Joe attends a work event with Mel and shares his strong opinions on various issues, leading to some bad press for Mel. Elsewhere, Ryder asks Stella out on a date; and Lennox and Zander discuss their future.

Find out what Lennox and Zander decide tonight on ABC Family at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Super Fun Night, Baby Daddy, Men at Work, Opposite Worlds, and Workaholics.

babydaddysmallI really love Baby Daddy, and last week, the physical comedy that Melissa Peterman had to do was hilarious! For a long time, I’ve had doubts about who Riley should end up with, and after the rocky start with Ben, I feel it’s best they don’t end up together. It will be interesting to see where the writers take the story, because Danny clearly isn’t over Riley yet.

On tonight’s episode, “Life’s a Beach,” Ben gets his rooftop beach shut down by the apartment Board President, and the boys campaign to overthrow her, which won’t be as easy as they initially think. Meanwhile, Bonnie drags Riley on a double date with her boyfriend Brad and his twin, Tad, but it appears like something is up with these men.

Find out what on ABC Family at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching Melissa & Joey, American Idol, and Super Fun Night.
