If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/28/14

It’s been a hectic and busy week around my house, with family visiting and celebrating Pherson’s third birthday. I cannot believe that my baby boy is 3 already. It seems like just yesterday that he was a chubby baby I was rocking to sleep, and now he’s a mischievous little boy who can ride a bike! Let’s see what’s on TV tonight to amuse you and help keep my mind off my baby not being a baby anymore.

hartofdixie328smallHart of Dixie came back with a mess of relationship drama last week, and what a mess it was. Lemon returned, and we found out she’d been dating two guys while she was at her grandma’s, but that all blew up in her face when the two men found out about each other. Don’t be too upset, because both Carter and Enrique want to keep Lemon, so they are going to continue to try to win her affection and see who ends up with her as a prize. Zoe tries hard to please her mom, but in the end, she can’t run a smear campaign against Brick because the town is her family and she doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Her mom heads home, but at least they parted on good terms. I’m not sure how I feel about Zoe and Joel still being together, but at least he’s trying, and she needs to focus more on figuring out her career and less time searching for acceptance from her mom.

On tonight’s episode, “Ring of Fire,” Joel hires dubious workers for his renovations, resulting in an accident on the site; Lavon struggles to draw ticket sales for a renaissance fair.

To see what happens during the renovations, tune in to The CW at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Say Yes to the Dress, Enlisted, Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, and Hannibal.

enlisted328smallThe last new episode of Enlisted was one of my favorite of the entire season so far. The Hill brothers were picked to look after three veterans who had all served together and were back in town for a friend’s funeral. It was funny because each of the three veterans were basically an older version of one of the Hill brothers. Pete, Derrick, and Randy all learned valuable lessons about themselves, the way they lived their lives, treated other people, and served in the Army. It was heartwarming, funny, and just all-around great. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Paint Cart 5000 vs. The Mondo Spider,” Second Lieutenant Tyson Schneeberger tricks the platoon into being test dummies for his experimental automobile, “Mondo Spider,” causing its victims to run for the latrine. So Pete attempts to rescue them. Meanwhile, Sgt. Major Cody asks Derrick to take his self-portrait, but he turns out to be a very difficult subject.

See what the “Mondo Spider” consists of tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Last Man Standing, Whose Line is it Anyway?, The Neighbors, Raising Hope, & Diners, Drive-ins & Dives.

helix328smallTonight, the first season of Helix comes to a close. Last week, the Scythe had arrived at Arctic Biosystem and butchered half the remaining survivors. When Spencer (aka the Scythe) saw footage of Hatake killing his mother, he swore he would get revenge. So when he discovered that Julia is Hatake’s daughter, he kidnapped her and sent her finger to Hatake. (Being an immortal, can’t she just grow that finger back?!) When Julia woke up, she discovered her finger was gone and that she had an explosive collar around her neck. Daniel had one around his, as well, and Spencer told Hatake that he must choose one of his children to die. Daniel knew Hatake would choose his biological child over him, so he sacrificed himself so his father didn’t have to make the tough decision. (It’s also convenient for the actor that he was already also playing an identical twin!) Then Peter and Alan burst into the room where Spencer was hiding and captured him, but he showed them a video of his partner opening a crate to reveal…Julia’s mother! Dun-dun-dun…

So how will this all play out? What is Julia’s mother doing there? Will they find Julia? What will Hatake do with Spencer? Who is on this board that Spencer keeps threatening that Hatake will have to answer to, and what do they want? After watching a screener of tonight’s exciting finale, I am really excited for a second season—I really hope Syfy decides to pick it up!

In case you missed any of this season, Syfy will be airing a marathon of the entire season today starting at 8AM/7AMc with the pilot!

On tonight’s episode, “Dans L’ombre,” Alan and Walker battle the Scythe to save the world from disaster.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Neighbors, Hannibal, Enlisted, and Raising Hope.

whoselinesmallThe ratings for the “second” season (on The CW, at least) of Whose Line is it Anyway? have been disappointing, but the two episodes that aired last week were great. Kat Graham was a great guest, and the chemistry between the comedians is still fantastic. Bring me more, please!

On tonight’s episode, special guest star Verne Troyer works with the comedians to bring the funny.

Laugh along with me tonight on The CW at 8/7c.
