If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/16/14

What a great week it’s been for TV. The weather, not so much. But I’ll take what I can get and just curl up under a blanket and watch TV while I try to keep warm. See what we’re recommending for you tonight.

hotincleveland416smallLast week on Hot in Cleveland, Joy’s “baby daddy” Simon came into town to meet not only his son, but also his grandson for the first time when they tried to get Wilbur into a prestigious preschool. Victoria ended up bringing Wilbur to the meeting, and all the family skeletons came spilling out, about Simon abandoning his son, about them meeting for the first time IN the office there at the school, and more. Needless to say, Wilbur didn’t get in, but the family agreed that was a good thing, because the school was snooty and too uppity.

On tonight’s episode, “The Undead,” Elka throws a fake funeral for Victoria so she can join her husband in hiding. Her nemesis, Susan Lucci, attends. Simon and Joy face a dilemma in their relationship. Craig Ferguson, Susan Lucci, Matt Iseman, David Cheaney, & Laird MacIntosh guest star.

See if Victoria gets away with it and what dilemma Simon & Jay face tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Mixology & The Soul Man.

winloseordrawsmallWhen I was a kid, I loved the show Win, Lose or Draw, so when I found out that Disney Channel was remaking it for my kids’ generation, I was super happy. It’s just another great show for all of us to watch together, which doesn’t just entertain, but causes us to interact. Hosted by the adorable Justin Willman, some of our favorite stars from Disney Channel and Disney XD join fans to compete at games like “Shake, Rattle & Draw,” “Fill in the Blank,” and even race through a drawing obstacle course. If you haven’t taken the time to tune in, I highly recommend you take the time to do so.

On tonight’s episode, Lab Rats actors Tyrel Jackson Williams and Billy Unger are featured.

To see what these young stars draw for you, tune in to Disney Channel at 7/6c.

I’ll also be watching American Idol, The 100, and The Americans.

workaholicssmallTonight is the fourth season finale of the Comedy Central series Workaholics. Last week, the guys were being harassed by an online gamer who was calling them derogatory names, so they took a 9-hour drive to Arizona for a “Black Ops” mission to stop him. As Blake entered the man’s house to delete his online gaming account, he quickly discovered that the gamer’s son was home. Lucky for Blake, the son was tired of his father ignoring him to play video games, and he agreed to help Blake destroy the Xbox. Meanwhile, Adam and Anders panicked when they learned that the verbally-abusive gamer was actually a police offer. And to make matters worse, he just arrived at the house with 6 of his fellow officers. Despite their best efforts to improvise a cover story, the guys were discovered and doused with mace before they made the long trip back home.

Workaholics is a just fun, dumb show that I can usually rely on for some laughs. It often feels like the cast is just given a situation and are set free to improvise—the banter between these guys just seems so natural. Tonight may be the season finale, but since the series has already been picked up for a fifth season, I know I have at least 13 more stupid adventures to look forward to after tonight.

On tonight’s episode, “Friendship Anniversary,” the guys’ common-law marriage is celebrated.

See how the guys celebrate tonight on Comedy Central at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy, The Americans, Legit, Flipping Out, and Save My Bakery.
