Tonight is the series premiere of Salem on WGN America at 10/9c. In this series, we are led into a dark and mystical period of American history. In Salem, the witches are a part of day-to-day life, but they are not who or what they seem to be. Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery) is the most powerful witch of Salem. She is the wife of George Sibley (Michael Mulheren), the ailing, wealthy head of the Selectmen of Salem. Leading a double life, Mary depends on her faithful servant and friend, Tituba (Ashley Madekwe), a mysterious and ageless accomplice to carry out her agenda. Mary is ruthless, yet vulnerable; her world is torn into two when Salem’s native son, John Alden (Shane West) returns after many years at war. John and Mary were lovers before he left the Puritan town of Salem. John, a war veteran, takes on the role of being the voice of reason in a town that is obsessed with witch hunts and unexplained phenomena. He realizes that suspicion and fear result in innocent people being victimized. On the contrary, Cotton Mather (Seth Gabel) is a well-educated local aristocrat who fans the flames of Salem’s witch hunt. John and Mary find themselves in the middle of an epic romance, even as Cotton’s witch hunts engulf the town in hysteria, horror, and the supernatural.

Tonight is the series premiere of The Ex and the Why on MTV at 6/5c. They were the love of your life but they broke your heart. For whatever reason it just didn’t work out and looking back you can’t help but ask yourself “why?” Why did it end the way it did? Why do you still feel like they were the “one?” But the biggest unanswered question of all is, “What can I do to get them back?” Stop asking the questions and get the answers you need to move on with your life…or fall back in love.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Time’s Up on MTV at 6:30/5:30c. The show is a half-hour daytime relationship strip, where couples must reevaluate their relationships as college, new careers, and other life-altering events force them to separate. Each episode follows one head-over-heels couple with a looming expiration date on their relationship, documenting their lives in the weeks leading up to their dreaded long-distance separation. Friends and family members all have their opinions, but when “Time’s Up” couples must eventually say goodbye — will they decide to stay together or break up?

Tonight is also the series premiere of Rewrapped on Food Network at 8/7c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 8:30/7:30c. Iconic snack foods are transformed in this new competition series hosted by Joey Fatone. From Twinkies to Goldfish to SpaghettiOs, three competitors use their talents to recreate and innovate America’s most beloved snacks. First, the challengers attempt to duplicate the original item from scratch. Then it’s onto the second round, where they must use the snack food in a completely original dish. Led by head judge Marc Summers and a panel of expert judges, only one can be crowned the Rewrapped champ!

Tonight is the series premiere of Chow Masters on Travel Channel at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9:30/8:30c. Chef Sammy DeMarco and best friend/Hollywood director Frank Coraci hit the road to find the tastiest and most creative comfort food in America. City by city, their quest takes them “off the map” searching for the three most innovative and delicious twists on comfort food classics. The chow buddies sample the entries and judge which contender will win a $10,000 cash prize and the Golden Skillet award.

Tonight is also the series premiere of True Tori on Lifetime at 10/9c. With her marriage in crisis, tabloids and gossip sites have been speculating for months about Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. Now, the real story will be told as it should be, by Tori Spelling herself. Airing just three short weeks after cameras begin filming, the show will document the couple in almost real-time as they navigate the unknown road ahead, beginning when Dean leaves treatment. Growing up as part of Hollywood royalty, Tori has always lived her life in the public eye. The world watched as Tori and Dean fell in love and became parents to four beautiful children. But Tori’s fairytale life came crashing down when reports of Dean’s infidelity hit the tabloids last December, throwing their marriage and family into crisis.

Relative Insanity challenges real families to work beyond their issues by locking them in a room together while competing for a cash prize of $25,000. In each episode, two families, are each locked in a room with their own ‘loved ones’ for two difficult days. During that time, they’ll attempt to outlast and outfox their neighbors next door and earn the most money through physical challenges, wild games and controversial family decisions. Unaware of how much money the other group has earned, the families will be tempted to spend their winnings on luxuries and household staples to make their stay more bearable. But everything has its price, and if anyone can’t stand the heat – or put up with their family any longer! – and presses the “escape button” to leave early, they put their entire family’s chance of winning at risk!
