May is one of those months that sneaks up on you, and then when it’s here, it keeps you constantly busy! It has been so hectic around here in the last few days that I am very ready to chill out and watch some great television. Let’s see what we’re recommending tonight.
Megan’s Choice #1
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is coming to the end of its first season tonight, and what a season it’s been. We have been brought along on a ride as Skye joined this team of agents, allowing herself to fall for Ward, only to find out in the last few episodes that he’s actually a double agent. I am still upset at the choice they made to make Ward a bad guy, when it’s obvious that he is a character that has been so loved by all of us. Last week, we watched as Skye finally let Ward know that she knew he was bad, and he still tried to convince her that he wasn’t that person, that they could love each other. We also watched as Maria came in and helped Coulson save Skye and then encouraged him to consider just selling out to the private sector. Coulson and his team aren’t giving up until all the Hydra members are caught. I’m excited to see where this heads, but also nervous that we’ll be left with a giant cliffhanger at the end of the night. Oh the nerves.
On tonight’s episode, “Ragtag,” Coulson and his team go undercover to infiltrate HYDRA; Ward’s troubled past is revealed.
To see if the team can survive this mess, tune in to ABC at 8/7c.
Jump with us to see else we think you should watch.
Last week’s NCIS: LA brought back memories of an old assignment for Sam, where he worked to protect a little girl and her parents. In the present day, the mother was working on an unmanned aerial vehicle project, and when bad guys stole it, they kidnapped her daughter (now 10 years old) and husband in order to force her to work with them because they needed her fingerprint. Sam and the little girl had music and drums in common, which gave them a bond, and when Sam found a CD cover under the floorboard, he knew the little girl had left it as a clue. He was right, and in the end, they were able to take the bad guys down and rescue the girl and her father before they were hurt or the bad guys got the UAV complete.
I love this show. Every episode makes me smile. So far, we’re not seeing any awkwardness between Kensi & Deeks, so here’s hoping we see movement on the relationship front and it doesn’t go backward (like Morgan & Garcia on Criminal Minds).
On tonight’s episode, “Exposure,” when a news reporter announces the group responsible for the deadly explosion at a military-sponsored charity event, the team must investigate her claims and search for the attacker. Tiffany Dupont (Greek) & Tony Okungbowa (guest DJ on Ellen) guest star.
Find out how the team tracks down the bad guy tonight on CBS at 9/8c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing NCIS, 19 Kids & Counting, Chow Masters, The Goldbergs, Growing Up Fisher, Trophy Wife, Chicago Fire, Chopped, The Little Couple, Playing House, & Person of Interest.
Last week on Trophy Wife, when Kate saw that Warren’s best friend was his mother, she encouraged him to join a club and find some new friends. So Warren’s solution was to join the girl’s field hockey team. Meanwhile, Pete tried to teach Bert the value of money after discovering that he made a lot of expensive purchases on a credit card he received in the mail; and Hillary looked to Jackie for help after she got a C on her art project.
This is such a hilarious show—I really hope it manages to survive the flood of renewals & cancellations we should be seeing later this week. If not, can someone please move Warren and Bert to Modern Family? They can be distant cousins of the family or something. These are two fun characters I don’t want to lose from my TV!
On tonight’s episode, “Back to School,” Kate accompanies Jackie to her high-school reunion. Meanwhile, Pete and Diane take Hillary and Warren on a college visit.
See if the ladies have fun going back to high school tonight on ABC at 9:31/8:31c.
I’ll also be watching/recording Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Goldbergs, Celebrity Wife Swap, About a Boy, Growing Up Fisher, Glee, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Supernatural, Fargo, Playing House, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge, Awkward., and Faking It.
Megan’s Choice #2
So, The Mindy Project… It comes down to tonight’s season 2 finale for us to see if Mindy will actually let Danny back in. Last week, Danny made a ton of passive-aggressive moves leading up to an attempt to kiss her again, which Mindy rightfully rebuffed, saying he doesn’t get to do that again. I agree with Mindy. Danny needs to stop playing with her emotions like he’s done this season. The writers really need to respect us all a little more too. I’m so invested in this couple. Last week’s episode, Mindy started to be wooed by Charlie, and that made Danny jealous, but I actually like how Charlie is forcing Mindy to show some independence. I like him even though I realize he’s just a pawn to get Danny and Mindy in a position to be together. As with S.H.I.E.L.D., I am hopeful that we are not left with a giant cliffhanger to be overly stressed about over the summer.
On tonight’s episode, “Danny and Mindy,” Mindy thinks she’s found the man of her dreams after reading a description of their encounter in a New York newspaper.
To see if Danny is the one, tune in to FOX at 9:30/8:30c.
I’ll also be watching NCIS, NCIS: LA, Glee, Chicago Fire, New Girl, Person of Interest, and The Voice.
