If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/14/14

So far, the finales this week have been taking a toll on everyone’s emotions around here, and I for one am nervous about tonight’s finales too. Let’s see what we’re recommending tonight.

Megan’s Choice

criminalminds514smallCriminal Minds left us on a huge cliffhanger last week with both Reid and Morgan getting shot. I was on the edge of my seat yelling at my TV, when my fiancé pointed out that maybe because we were left on a huge cliffhanger last week, maybe we’d get more closure this week. Yes, sometimes he is quite wise. I am so nervous to see what happens because they just shot two of my favorite characters, so I don’t know what’s going to happen. Last week’s case was surrounding prostitutes who were getting murdered violently, and it was a very creepy atmosphere the whole episode. Let’s hope they solve the case this week, but also that all of our favorite characters make it through the finale.

On tonight’s season finale, “Demons,” one BAU member’s life is in danger while another member recalls an upsetting secret from the past.

To see what secret comes out, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Chicago PD, Law & Order: SVU, Arrow, Modern Family, Suburgatory, The 100, Save My Bakery, and Kodiak.

thesoulman514smallLast week on The Soul Man, Boyce went on a health kick when he learned that his blood sugar was a little high, meaning he was at risk for diabetes. He threw out all the sugar-filled food and snacks at his house and then proceeded to cancel the church’s annual bake sale, which angered the whole congregation. They even went so far as to start to organize an underground (ie: secret) bake sale. He wised up at the end, but getting there was really funny.

I love this show because the relationships between Boyce and his family, Boyce and the congregation, etc, are all really funny. I love his brother, Stamps, but really, all of them are great. I’m sad because tonight is the season finale, and as far as I know, it hasn’t been renewed yet for season 4. Crossing my fingers!

On tonight’s episode, “Moving On Up,” Boyce and Lolli make the decision to sell their house and move into a luxury condo, but after their family out, they question whether they did the right thing.

Find out if Boyce and Lolli make the move tonight on TV Land at 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Hot in Cleveland, & Chicago PD.

legit514smallTonight, the second season of Legit comes to a close with a double-dose of new episodes on FXX. Last week, Janice and Walter staged an intervention for Steve to confront his drinking problem. However, Jim (and some of the other guests) were constantly finding excuses to duck out to the coke party Jim was throwing in his bedroom.

This season of Legit has been quite a bit darker than the first, with story lines that have been a bit more serious, concentrating quite a bit on Steve, whose depressing life just seems to get worse and worse. I’m hoping that in tonight’s final two episodes of the season, the show gets a bit lighter and just has fun. The show is hilarious when it doesn’t try to be so serious. I also hope we get a third season.

On tonight’s first episode, “Sober,” Jim gets panic attacks after he gives up drinking. Then, in “Honesty,” Jim considers quitting comedy while Billy goes to a video-game tournament.

Watch the final two episodes of the season tonight on FXX at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, The Middle, Suburgatory, Modern Family, Revolution, The 100, Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy, The Americans, and Save My Bakery.
