Tonight is the series premiere of Married at First Sight on FYI (previously the BIO Channel) at 9/8c, with a 1-hour casting special at 8/7c. Based on the hit Danish format, the show is an extreme social experiment following six brave souls who are yearning for a life-long partnership as they agree to a provocative proposal: getting legally married the moment they first meet. Four specialists – sexologist, Dr. Logan Levkoff; spiritualist, Greg Epstein; psychologist, Dr. Joseph Cilona; and sociologist, Dr. Pepper Schwartz – will create what they believe are three perfect couples, based on scientific matchmaking. The couples will never meet or know each other until they walk down the aisle and see each other face to face, for the first time, when they get married. Each episode will follow the classic lifestyle stories of newlyweds – from the honeymoon to early nesting to other relatable events of married life. After several weeks together, each couple must make a decision: do they remain together or decide to separate?

Tonight is also the 2-hour series premiere of Finding Carter on MTV at 10/9c. The show is a new unconventional family drama that centers on Carter, a teenage girl who thinks she has the perfect life until one night after a police bust at a high school party, she is told that the woman who she believes to be her biological mother actually abducted her as a toddler. Now Carter must return to the family who thought they had lost her. As she navigates brand-new parents, a twin sister, high school, and boys, Carter vows to find Lori before the police capture the only mom she’s ever known and put her behind bars.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Restaurant Startup on CNBC at 10/9c. The eight one-hour episodes feature restaurateur and TV personality Joe Bastianich (MasterChef) and chef and restaurant operator Tim Love who vie to invest their own money in restaurant concepts they believe could make them millions. Each week, two teams selected from hundreds of applicants are invited to pitch their food ideas to our investors. Under high-pressure questioning, each team tries to convince Bastianich and Love that theirs is a concept worth backing. But, only one team moves forward. The chosen team is given the keys to a working restaurant on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. They get 36 hours and $7,500 to put their dream to the test and launch a pop-up restaurant; come up with a branding campaign; and write a business plan. Under the watchful eye of Bastianich and Love’s culinary consultant Waylynn Lucas, the aspiring food moguls open their doors, serve their food and test their concept on the public. Based on the reaction from the diners, the quality of the branding and the viability of the business plan, Bastianich and Love decide whether or not they will put their own money on the line to make someone’s dreams come true; and hopefully, make big money for themselves.

This season, Barwis and his team of trainers will be working with several professional athletes at the top of their respective fields, including: Richard Sherman (Seattle Seahawks), Nick Swisher (Cleveland Indians), Rashad Evans (UFC), Ndamukong Suh (Detroit Lions), DeAndre Jordan (Los Angeles Clippers), Pierre Garcon (Washington Redskins), Shawne Merriman (former NFL player), Baron Davis (former NBA player), and many more.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Extant on CBS at 9/8c. The show is a mystery thriller about a female astronaut trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in outer space. Her experiences lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history. Tonight is also the series premiere of Rowhouse Showdown on FYI at 9/8c. The show features renovation expert, Carter Oosterhouse, leading three teams as they battle it out to transform dilapidated homes in Cincinnati, Ohio. Taking on the rundown houses in a distressed neighborhood, the teams will renovate one home each – while also living together – in a bid to raise the property value of the community surrounding them. The team that increases the appeal of their home to the max goes home with the grand prize of $50,000 and their home renovation will be featured in Dwell magazine. Designer, Kathy Kuo; Cincinnati-based house flipper, Jim Bronzie; and Dwell’s Editor in Chief, Amanda Dameron judge the team’s renovations.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Mansion Hunters on REELZ at 10/9c. When Hollywood’s hot celebrities, movie production companies and fashion photographers need exclusive access to a luxurious mansion for work or play, there’s one man they call: Paul Kim. Paul started his Image Locations business with three maxed out credit cards and a single cell phone. It wasn’t long before Image Locations grew into one of the leading property rental companies in America. Whether it’s a specific location for a movie shoot, a sprawling yard for a million dollar wedding reception, or a three month party-pad for a wealthy heiress, Image Locations handles it all. Navigating the turbulent world of the rich and famous is tricky and alive with drama, so Paul has assembled a team of passionate and loyal experts to deal with the outlandish requests, eccentric characters and million-dollar deals they come face to face with every day. In this high stakes game, disasters loom and tempers will flare, but it’s all in a day’s work for the “Mansion Hunters.”

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Tiny House Nation on FYI at 10/9c. Renovation experts and hosts, John Weisbarth and Zack Giffin, travel across America to show off ingenious small spaces and the inventive people who live in them, as well as help new families design and construct their own mini-dream home in a space no larger than 300 square feet. From a micro-apartment in New York City to a caboose car turned home in Montana to a micro-sized mobile home for road tripping – this is a series that celebrates the exploding movement of tiny homes. From pricey to budget friendly, Tiny House Nation is not a typical design show, but one that proves size doesn’t always matter – it’s creativity that counts.

Tonight is the series premiere of Welcome to Sweden on NBC at 9:01/8:01c. Bruce Evans (Greg Poehler) and Emma Wiik (Josephine Bornebusch) seem to be the perfect couple, so when she makes the life-changing decision to move back to her native Stockholm to accept a prestigious banking position after a year together, she is surprised and thrilled that he agrees to move with her. Moving halfway around the world with a new love is a huge step and Bruce, with no job, friends or real clue about what he is getting himself into, is quick to face the many unique challenges and culture clashes that living in a foreign land presents – most notably, how to win over Emma’s strange and very Swedish family.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Working the Engels on NBC at 9:30/8:30c. The series centers on a family who must band together to keep their heads above water when their father and breadwinner passes away, leaving them a mountain of debt. It stars Andrea Martin, Azure Skye, Benjamin Arthurt, & Kacey Rohl.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Beasts of the Bayou on Discovery Channel at 10/9c. Captain Blimp Cheramie, his first mate, Eric, and his nephew, Nathan, search through the marshes of Louisiana, on the hunt for the legendary creatures that are rumored to haunt the thousands of square miles of swampland around their homes. Stories of the creatures’ origins are those of legend, passed down from generation to generation with little proof of their validity… for now. All the while, teams of scientists are seeking alternative explanations for the sightings and stories that have plagued this region for so many years.

Tonight is the series premiere of Celebrity Damage Control on REELZ at 10/9c. One minute they’re posing for the press – the next they’re running from the spotlight. The show is an hour-long factual series about celebrities who were caught committing crime or something just plain wrong and embarrassing yet managed to survive the scandal with careers intact and in some cases even flourishing afterward. From driving under the influence, to shoplifting, to tax evasion, to beating up paparazzi, or being the victim of an embarrassing blackmail scam, Celebrity Damage Control unveils Hollywood’s most notorious celebrity scandals and reveals what celebrities did to survive the upheaval. Robert Downey Jr., Sean Penn, Charlie Sheen, Hugh Grant, Mel Gibson, Rob Lowe and many more have all had a brush with the law, and Celebrity Damage Control examines every case with commentary from public relations agents, pop culture experts and lawyers to find out why celebrities are forgiven and deemed innocent by the public – even if proven guilty.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Leah Remini: It’s All Relative on TLC at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. Leah Remini played the unforgettably funny, no-nonsense wife on The King of Queens, but she’s just as funny when she’s acting as real-life wife to her husband of 10 years, Angelo, and mom to her feisty 9-year-old daughter Sofia. In the new reality series, find out what life is really like in the entertainment industry as you step into Leah’s home to watch her juggle career, her celebrity status and her family. Leah’s living in Los Angeles now, but she still has her Brooklyn roots (and accent). Her day-to-day reality is about keeping her over-achieving tendencies under control and managing a household full of hijinks — and funny personalities! In the show, you’ll meet Angelo, who’s a devoted father helping run their family diner, and Sofia, who’s the spitting image of her dad with her mom’s personality. Filling out Leah’s household are her opinionated mother, Vicki; eccentric stepfather, George; down-to-earth sister Shannon; and Sofia’s British nanny.

Rick, Corey and Chumlee are featured in each episode vigorously defending their treasured items from confident and brainy contestants. The cherished items up for grabs are from Rick’s personal collection and he doesn’t want to give them up–this is the only game show that doesn’t want the contestants to win! Will a lucky contestant be able to stump the man who knows everything or will Rick prevail and walk away with his money in his pocket and his prized possessions intact?

Tonight is also the series premiere of World Food Championships on FYI at 10/9c. Hosted in Las Vegas, The World Food Championships is one of the most ambitious and authentic food competitions held annually. This series follows talented home cooks and professional chefs from across America as they compete to create dishes mouth-wateringly creative enough to win their food category. From BBQ, to bacon to family recipes – there is a winner for each competition, culminating in a grand finale with a shot at winning a $50,000 prize. Co-hosted by Jeffrey Saad, chef, author and LA-based restaurant owner; and Dallas-based chef, Tiffany Derry.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Snack-Off on MTV at 10:30/9:30c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 11/10c. From the mind of Rob Dyrdek comes a cooking competition show with a comedic twist that is truly unlike any other, where it takes mundane munchies and elevates them to a fully baked art form. Hosted by chef, restaurateur and food personality, Eddie Huang, this is a half-hour show where a group of amateur chefs battle it out in an array of “snack” inspired challenges vying not only for a cash prize but to have their recipe included in the “Snack-Off cookbook and the coveted spork necklace. Tonight is the series premiere of The Almighty Johnsons on Syfy at 10/9c. Based on the New Zealand series of the same name, the action-packed The Almighty Johnsons follows the Johnson boys, four typical fun-loving guys who have inherited the power of Norse Gods. But the Johnson brothers are no flashy superheroes. Everyday Gods have everyday struggles – searching for love, overcoming sibling rivalry and fulfilling their God-like destiny – while still enjoying a few beers with their mates.
