If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/6/14

It’s the start of a new week, and what a week it is. There are 18 series premieres, 7 season premieres, & 6 season finales. To start it off, Kyle & I are here to give you our recommendations for tonight. 🙂

reckless76smallOn last week’s Reckless premiere, we met Jamie and Roy, attorneys on opposite sides of the legal system. Roy is the new city attorney, while Jamie is a defense attorney. In the pilot, we learned that smack dab in the middle of the Charleston Police Department, there’s a group of very bad apples who are involved in a huge sex scandal. Jamie took on a client that brought the whole thing to light: a female police officer who was let go for sending…pictures of herself to a detective on the force. She was drugged while out with him and then a group of cops took their turns with her. The tape of that came to light, although there is a missing piece to it that they’re trying to find.

Critical reviews weren’t great for the premiere, although I’ve seen the first two episodes, and I’m loving it. I don’t love that Jamie has a boyfriend, because her chemistry with Roy is super hot, but I’m anxious to see where it goes. I can say that you learned a lot from the pilot, but you’ll learn just as much or more from episode two.

On tonight’s episode, “Parting Shots,” when Jamie and Roy take on clients on opposite sides of a heated custody battle, things take an unexpected and violent turn. Meanwhile, Roy struggles with what to do with the missing footage from the police department sex tape.

To see what Roy decides, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Brother vs Brother, Food Network Star, The Last Ship, The Musketeers, Cutthroat Kitchen, & Unforgettable.

witchesofeastend76smallTonight, Witches of East End returns to Lifetime for a second season. When the first season came to a close, it was Freya’s wedding day, but bad omens kept appearing, so Freya ultimately decided to call things off with Dash. Meanwhile, the shifter (aka Penelope), disguised as Wendy, tricked Joanna into meeting with her, used magic to knock her unconscious, and started to stage Joanna’s suicide. However, Penelope was interrupted by the real Wendy, who killed Penelope in the fight that followed. Elsewhere, Mike found Ingrid snooping in his hotel room, so he took her at gunpoint to the portal in the catacombs and forced her to touch it. Wendy and Joanna arrived to see the door to Asgard open. Mike was killed in the explosion that followed, and a mystery person walked out of the portal.

Who or what is it that has crossed over from the other dimension, and is it good or evil? Dash attacked Killian with magic and set him out to sea—did Killian survive, and does he have magical powers of his own? What will the now-magical Dash do next? Will he go after Freya next for calling off the wedding?

On tonight’s episode, “A Moveable Beast,” the Beauchamp witches fear that a mystical presence crossed over to their world when the portal opened. Meanwhile, Victor helps Joanna recover from being poisoned; Ingrid develops a dangerous sleepwalking habit; and Freya sees visions of Killian in danger.

Find out how the season starts tonight on Lifetime at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Big Brother, Brain Games: Trust Me, Guy’s Grocery Games, Food Network Star, The Last Ship, Falling Skies, Halt and Catch Fire, Devious Maids, The Musketeers, True Blood, and The Leftovers.
