If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/9/14

This dang summer cold sucks. I’m still coughing, although not nearly as much or as often, but in the process, I’ve bruised my ribs or pulled my muscles around my chest and back. Something. It’s incredibly painful. *sigh* I’ll still be curled up tonight, wishing I felt better, so check out what I’ll be watching, as well as what Megan & Kyle are recommending.

Jenny’s Choice

sullivan&son99smallTonight is the season finale of Sullivan & Son on TBS. Last week was kinda huge… Steve met the perfect woman—a lawyer, likes basketball, likes one of his favorite old sandwich joints. He kept going to Melanie for help and insider info on picking up women, and it worked. But right at the end, he was getting ready to leave to meet her and was talking to Mel, telling her everything that was perfect about the woman, and she said something about the perfect woman being right under your nose sometimes. He froze and turned back to her, then rushed back to her and kissed her, realizing she was right… The perfect woman WAS right under his nose! I’m a big fan of the show and I’ve been a Steve/Melanie shipper since the beginning, so I’m hoping this isn’t something they’re going to just throw away by making them realize it was a mistake or Melanie dreamed it or something. We’ll see, I guess!

On tonight’s episode, “You, Me, and Gary,” after the kiss, Melanie and Steve want to keep their new thing quiet, but Melanie’s nosy neighbor Gary isn’t one to keep secrets. John Michael Higgins (Happily Divorced) guest stars.

See how the season ends tonight on TBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Food Fighters, MasterChef Canada, 19 Kids & Counting, America’s Got Talent, Hotel Hell, Married at First Sight, Chopped, Little People Big World, & Wizard Wars.

Megan’s Choice

hotelhell1smallHotel Hell almost sounds like the title of a horror story instead of a reality show about Gordon Ramsay helping failing hotels—although I suppose considering some of the insanely disastrous hotels we’ve seen this season, it could qualify as horror. Last week, we saw a family-owned hotel that was being torn apart by the fighting of a sister and brother who were supposed to be co-owners. Ramsay was appalled by their lack of communication and really frustrated with the laziness in the kitchen. Honestly, there have been times watching this show I have second guessed whether or not I ever want to stay in a hotel again. This season has solidified my disdain for staying away from home. I’m not sure that’s what it’s supposed to do, but nonetheless…here we are.

On tonight’s season finale, “Murphy’s Hotel,” Gordon heads to Northern California, where he is captivated by the beautiful vineyards of the Sierra Nevada Foothills and the town’s most historic building, Murphy’s Hotel. He quickly learns that the 200-year-old landmark has become an attraction for the crowd where all-night partying kept guests from actually sleeping.

To see if Ramsay can help put an end to this party house, tune in to FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Utopia, Food Fighters, America’s Got Talent, Chopped, and Sons of Anarchy.

Kyle’s Choice

sonsofanarchy99smallLast season of Sons of Anarchy was an explosive one, with some major shocks and character deaths. Jax finally took care of Clay and made him pay for all of the bad things he had done. He also tried to move the Sons into a more legit line of business after one of the guns they were moving fell into the hands of a child. But the most shocking moment came at the end of the season, when Gemma, in a fit of panic, gruesomely killed Tara with a serving fork. Roosevelt walked in on the situation, but Juice showed up and shot him before he could arrest Gemma.

As the final season of the series kicks off tonight, how will Jax get justice for Tara? Will Wendy come back in the picture now that Tara is gone? How will holding Gemma’s secret affect Juice, and how would Jax react f he knew the truth? Will Unser ever get the relationship with Gemma he’s wanted for so long? I’m looking forward to this final ride with the Sons and seeing how the series will come to a close.

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, I got a chance to talk about the upcoming season with the cast and producers of Sons of Anarchy . You can see that on NoReruns.net.

On tonight’s extended episode, “Black Widower,” Jax seeks vengeance in the Season 7 premiere.

Find out if Jax learns any secrets of what truly happened to Tara tonight on FX at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Big Brother, Utopia, Hotel Hell, Face Off, Wizard Wars, and Finding Carter.
