If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/30/11

This is a crazy day for me (Jenny), so I’m going to jump right in. Everyone welcome back Jethro to this week’s Remote posts! Now let’s get to it!

Jethro’s Choice

Hello everyone, I’m Jethro Nededog, a writer/reporter at Zap2it. Thrilled to be joining the crew of TVIsMyPacifier.com for a second time on “If We Controlled Your Remote…” I watch all kinds of TV, but I have a soft spot for shows considered by some to be “guilty pleasures.” So, expect my choices this week to include some camp, some reality and soapy drama.

It’s one of my new favorite shows and I look forward to it all week. If you’re not watching Showtime’s new series, Shameless, I implore you to give it a try. In Episode 3, we found out that the Gallagher home belongs to their Aunt Ginger, who the kids had never met, but believed was in a nursing home. It turns out that she has been dead for years and dad, Frank (William H. Macy), had been cashing her disability payments. When the government began to get suspicious, the gang nabbed a senile old lady to act as Ginger. Everything worked out with the government, but younger sister, Debbie (Emma Kenney) grew attached to the woman, and it seems she isn’t taking her absence very well. In Episode 4, Debbie steals some kid to fill the void.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/13/10

We don’t normally post this on Saturday, but Jethro had some final words and a final recommendation, so who were we to say no?? We enjoyed having him, and it sounds like he enjoyed telling you all what he thought you should watch, so one last time, here’s Jethro!

Jethro’s Choice

I’ve had a blast giving my two cents this week with the TVIsMyPacifier.com crew! Today, I’ll be flying to New York City for a week with Bravo, VH1, Logo, Nate Berkus and Wendy Williams! So, I’ll actually be watching screeners tonight and prepping questions.

If I get a chance, I’ll probably tune in for NBC’s Saturday Night Live from my hotel room. It’s all new with the beautiful Scarlet Johansson and the rockin’ Arcade Fire performing!

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/12/10

It’s just three of us tonight. Lisa is really feeling poorly (keep her in your thoughts and cross your fingers her back starts feeling better ASAP!), so she’s taking the day off. We’ve had a great time with Jethro from Zap2It this week, and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading what he has to say. You can always catch him over on the other site if you did! I’m dealing with a sick kiddo (just a cold, but came home from school mid-day feeling worse), so the schedule will be up shortly, I promise! Right now, though, let’s see what we think you should be watching.

Jenny’s Choice

My recommendation tonight has got to be The Good Guys on FOX. If you haven’t been keeping up, Jack and Liz are back together, after she broke up with her douche-y lawyer of a boyfriend who turned out to be a not so great guy a couple of episodes back. Things between them are still tenous and new, but I love that they are back together!

On tonight’s episode, Jack and Liz leave town for a romantic weekend away, but the owner’s strange curiosity makes Jack suspicious; Dan learns of Jack’s investigation and rushes out to the bed and breakfast so that he can be a part of the action.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/11/10

This is a great week for TV fans. Psych returned yesterday, and tonight is the return of my favorite show, Burn Notice. What are you most excited about watching tonight? If you need some hints on what to watch, just read on and see what we think you should watch!

Jenny’s Choice

This is one of my favorite days of the year. Burn Notice is back, baby! I love this show for so many reasons. The cast and characters, of course, are the main reason. The cast is fantastic and the characters are brilliant. They all have great chemistry and work seamlessly together. The storylines are always great, too. The show has it all, in my opinion: action, drama, comedy, romance & sexual heat. If you haven’t seen it before, please tune in. It will be well worth your time!

On tonight’s episode, a rancorous lawyer hires a bomb-maker to reap vengeance on the members of a local gang, but with innocent lives in the balance, Michael must stop him from doing the deed; Michael and Jesse try to secure top-secret government documents. If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/10/10

Wednesday night is bone dry on ABC due to the CMAs, but that’s okay. There is still plenty to lay your peepers on, because the other networks have some great new episodes, and new seasons that are just starting tonight! Psych makes its triumphant return tonight for its midseason opener, and it’s a doozie. Check out our selections below and see what we think you should be watching Wednesday!

Get psyched up for the return of season five of this charming and incredibly funny show that I’m sure you know all the words to the theme song! Sean and Gus have kept us in suspense far too long, and we Psych-o’s have been jonesing for our fix! Tonight’s episode of Psych brings back Cary Elwes as Desperaux! Shawn and Gus visit Desperaux in a Vancouver prison, only to have Desperaux exit..stage left! See our favorite dynamic duo team up on Psych tonight on USA at 10/9c.
