If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/15/11

It’s the start of a new week, and it’s a VERY big week indeed! There are tons of great finales, as well as some other great new episodes. We’re going to do our best to highlight what we think you should be watching. If we don’t choose what you would watch, comment below and let us know what you think we should have chosen! Megan is relaxing on vacation, so Jamie is back again this week, as is Jose from Daemonstv.com, so be sure and welcome them back!

Jenny’s Choice #1

My top pick is the season finale and reunion show for Survivor on CBS. I wouldn’t normally recommend this, because there’s always so much else on I think you should watch, but honestly, this season was so much better than last season that I’m actually finishing the season (unlike last time, where I stopped watching only a couple of episodes in!). I love Russell, but he was voted off a good number of weeks back. My other favorite, and possibly now my favorite player even above Russell, is Boston Rob. He is as good a player as Russell, without being as much of an ass about it. lol In addition to Rob, though, we have the craziness that is Phillip (and in Rob’s words, not the N-word crazy, but just crazy crazy lol). Although now? Scott & I are wondering if Phillip is as crazy as he is making himself seem. He’s made one or two comments to the camera and to his sister when she was on the island that makes us think…maybe not. I guess we’ll see!

On tonight’s episode, the last chance for immunity is a fight to the finish with an unlikely pairing of castaways, and the final three plead their case to the jury-find out who will outplay, outwit and outlast the others.

Watch the backstabbing and deal making play out on the 2-hour season finale on CBS at 8/7c, followed by the 1-hour reunion show to find out who wins the big prize at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Survivor @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/18/11

TGIF everybody! Thanks again to the folks at TVisMyPacifier.com for letting do guest picks this week for “If We Controlled Your Remote…”. I hope that my picks helped you watch shows you may have not seen before, because it’s one of the reasons I love reading these posts every day.

I always look forward to Friday, not just because it means the weekend is coming, but it’s the day Fringe is on. Now in its third season, Fringe tells the story of a special team that focuses on crazy, bizarre events that can only be explained through the study of Fringe sciences. This season, the Fringe team faces their biggest challenge as they race to stop a Fringe team from an alternate universe from destroying our universe. While the writing on the show is top notch, the acting is what makes it a must watch for me. Anna Torv is incredible as the lead of the Fringe team, Agent Olivia Dunham, while John Noble plays the eccentric, brilliant Dr. Walter Bishop. It’s even more amazing when you realize they also play their alternate universe alter-egos, showing an amazing range and quality in their performances.

Tonight, in an episode titled “6B”, the Fringe team investigates a series of odd events that leads them to the apartment of a widow. At the same time, Olivia and Peter try to repair their friendship after some interference from agents from the alternate universe.

Make sure to catch Fringe tonight at 9/8c on FOX. Learn where to find episodes online of Fringe @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/17/11

It’s Thursday, which means we’re nearing the end of another week. There’s still lots on, though, so you don’t have to worry about missing out! What do we think you should watch? Read on to find out!

Jenny’s Choice

My pick tonight is one I haven’t actually felt good about recommending in months, and that is Bones. I was a Hannah hater, I’ll admit. Well, not true, exactly. I was a Hannah with Booth hater. I liked the character a lot… I just didn’t like that she was with Booth and what that meant for Booth & Bones. But as we saw last week, Hannah is gone. Booth asked her to marry him (did anyone else feel that Booth asked her for 2 reasons only: 1) cause he felt a bit pressured about Sweets, this guy who is much younger than him, thinking of proposing to Daisy, and 2) in the hopes that getting engaged to Hannah would help put his feelings for Bones to rest completely? That was my take on it, anyway. So yes, I’m happy Hannah is gone, and while I don’t expect B/B to get together right away, I finally feel like we can get back on track for that.

On tonight’s Valentine’s Day-themed episode, the liquified remains of a wedding planner are found in her tanning bed on Valentine’s Day. Cam is in a hurry to solve the case, since she has plans with her boyfriend. Classified files lead to a main suspect in the case. Booth and Bones downplay the holiday, while Hodgins tries to make plans of his own. Peter Paige (Queer as Folk) guest stars.

Don’t miss the new episode tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/16/11

I’m taking the top today, and that just means you get to enjoy more of my fabulous ramblings. 🙂 This week has already been filled with great episodes, and tonight is nothing different. If anything, it’s going to be even better tonight, because there’s the premiere of the all new Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour after all new episode of the orignal. Let’s see what everyone is suggesting you watch tonight.

Megan’s Choice

While I strongly suggest you check out the new Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour, I’m going to stick with the original tonight. I love the dynamics of the original team, and the look of the sexy boys. Especially Shemar Moore… I adore him. 😀

On tonight’s episode, the BAU is called to upstate New York to investigate mysterious disappearances. Meanwhile, Prentiss receives some disturbing news about one of her former colleagues at Interpol.

Tune into CBS at 9/8c and then stay tuned for the new spin-off at 10/9c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/15/11

It’s Tuesday, which means we all survived Monday. Yay! Megan is spending time with her sister and hopefully getting the rest she needs to keep that bun in her oven. Everyone keep your fingers crossed little Pherson decides to stick it out a while longer! 😉 Jose is back in town, which means tonight’s post is in his words, not mine. (I’m sure you’re all very glad about that! 😀 ) So, what’s on tonight that’s worth watching? Let’s find out!

Jenny’s Choice

CHIPs! Get a load of tonight’s episode! The team is suspicious of an undercover centure involving a deal between corrupt cops and military personnel, so Callen and Sam try to expose the illegal operation by posing as corrupt California highway patrol officers.

Yes, seeing Sam dressed in the uniform last time is now coming to fruition, as evidenced by the picture to the left. How hot are they?! *snicker* Seriously, though, NCIS: LA is fantastic, and it just keeps getting better, imo. Even when they look funny and odd, wearing a uniform like they are tonight. 😉
