If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/21/13

It’s Monday, which means back to work for most people, but that’s okay. While tonight might not have as big a list of new shows on as some of the other days this week, what episodes ARE on are well worth watching. Kyle’s headed out of town, so tonight, it’s just Megan, JJ, and I giving you our recommendations. 🙂

bones1021smallBones fans have waited eight seasons to get to this point. Last week, we watched as Booth and Bones started preparing for their wedding, all while trying to solve the murder of a cancer patient who had been working on his bucket list. That prompted everyone on the team to start their own lists, and it was cute watching what each of them came up with. But tonight, eight seasons of wishing and waiting and hoping come to fruition as the wedding day has finally arrived. Of course, it wouldn’t be Bones if it went off without a hitch, but I promise you, I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it DOES happen—and happen extraordinarily beautifully and perfect, at that. We get to see people that we haven’t seen in way too long, as well as some new friends. It’s a wedding in spectacular Bones fashion, and as a shipper, it’s one of my favorite episodes in all eight (and a few episodes) seasons. (Click the pictures to see the full-size versions!)

bones1021bsmallOn tonight’s episode, “The Woman in White,” the Jeffersonian team investigates the murder of Nancy Handelman, whose body was discovered at the time of Brennan and Booth’s wedding rehearsal. When the case becomes more serious than the team anticipated, Cam and Angela do everything in their power to keep the details of the investigation from Brennan in order to ensure that she will stay focused on her big day. Tensions run high when unfortunate events occur to stall the wedding temporarily, and Max (guest star Ryan O’Neal) comes to town with a suspicious duffle bag full of money. Patricia Belcher (AUSA Caroline Julian), Mather Zickel (Aldo Clemens), Eugene Byrd (Dr. Clark Edison), Pej Vahdat (Arastoo Vaziri), Michael Grant Terry (Wendell Bray), Carla Gallo (Daisy Wick), Brian Klugman (Dr. Oliver Wells), Joel David Moore (Colin Fisher), Cyndi Lauper (Avalon Harmonia), Joanna Cassidy (Marianne Booth), Ralph Waite (Hank Booth), Ty Panitz (Parker Booth), & David Hornsby (Emily Deschanel’s real-life husband!) also guest star.

See the epiciness that is the Booth/Brennan wedding tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/23/13

Excited does not begin to explain my happiness at the new season of television beginning. I am overjoyed! Tonight is the beginning of a great week, so let’s take a gander at it, shall we?

2brokegirls923small2 Broke Girls is a show that’s full of politically incorrect jokes and hilarious situations that make for an amazing show. I love this show, despite how many people think it’s controversial. That’s okay. Controversy is exceptionally funny to watch at times. Kat Dennings is adorable, and her comedic timing is perfection. Last season, we watched the girls try to build their cupcake business, then fail and then try again. I’m looking forward to season three a ton, and you should be too!

On tonight’s season premiere, “And the Soft Opening,” the gals see an upward spike in business, thanks to a shocking incident involving a rock star.

To find out what happened with the rock star, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching (deep breath, it’s a long list) Mom, Hostages, Dancing with the Stars, The Voice, The Blacklist, Bones, Sleepy Hollow, and How I Met Your Mother.

If We Control Your Remote… 5/13/13

Welcome to another Monday. Did you have a good weekend? Mine went way too fast—but don’t they always? I know my husband’s not looking forward to going back to work, but one good thing about the new week: Great new shows. There’s a lot on tonight, so we’re going to attempt to highlight what we recommend you watch.

castle513smallLast week’s Castle was a great one. The story was interesting—although finding out it was the son that killed his father kind of sucked. That kid was SERIOUSLY screwed in the head…—and the humor was spot-on. I loved Beckett and Castle hitting the dirt when they were fired on by a drone. Then Castle saying he’d been the one to shoot it down and Beckett had missed was hysterical. The funniest part had to be Beckett’s amusement as she scared the pants off him with the remote control tank & helicopter in bed. I loved it.

The end of the episode set up tonight’s, sadly, season finale, when the federal agent they’d been working with on the case told Beckett he wanted her to interview for a position with the Attorney General. The job would take her away from Castle, away from New York City. It would be a huge leap professionally for her, but she obviously can’t leave. The show wouldn’t exist without Castle & Beckett both. Will she decide she wants to pursue the job (even though we know, in the end, she won’t take it), and if so, what will that mean for our favorite couple, especially so soon after Beckett’s ILY? I’m both dreading and anticipating tonight’s episode. I can only hope I come away happier and more satisfied than I did with the Bones finale.

On tonight’s episode, “Watershed,” an interview with a high-profile federal law enforcement agency forces Beckett to reconsider what she wants out of her job—and out of her relationship with Castle. Meanwhile, the body of a young woman is found floating inside the water tank of a skid row flop house, but as the team investigate, they discover that her final resting place is just one of many strange things about her death. Kyle Secor (Commander-in-Chief, Philly, Homicide: Life on the Street), Scott Paulin, Niko Nicotera, Stacy Edwards (Chicago Hope, Santa Barbara), & Mekenna Melvin (Chuck) guest star.

See if Beckett and Castle can survive this bump in their relationship tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/18/13

We’re over halfway through March, which is quickly bringing Easter upon us. I mean, it seems like we just wrapped up Christmas, and now it’s time for the Easter Bunny to visit. Speaking of the Easter Bunny… I just watched Rise of the Guardians over the weekend with the family, and it was one of the best kids movies I’ve seen in a while. I highly recommend it for kids of all ages. Now onto my true love of television and what you should be watching tonight.

hawaiifiveo318smallI have been going through serious Hawaii Five-0 withdrawal because it’s been FOREVER since we’ve seen a new episode. It’s difficult not seeing my TV boyfriend on a regular basis, but then again, any chance I get to see Alex O’Loughlin is a happy day for me. 🙂 This season has been really solid since the beginning, although I’m anxious to see when they’re going to wrap up the Wo Fat story and see where else they can go.

On tonight’s episode, “Na Ki’i,” when a murder victim is discovered in Dog the Bounty Hunter’s vehicle, Catherine goes undercover at a roller derby.

To see if Catherine rolls her way into an arrest, tune in to CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hawaii Five-0 @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching Bones, The Following, 2 Broke Girls, and Mike & Molly.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/18/13

Today is President’s Day in the US, which means for a lot of people, it’s a day off work & school. That’s good for my kiddo, who has an extra day to make up work from the three days he was sick last week! That also makes Monday a bit more bearable, doesn’t it? 😉 There is some great TV on tonight, whether your Monday is full of work and real life as normal or relaxation and laziness because you’ve got the day off, so check out what we think you should be watching.

Jenny’s Choice #1

castle218smallI know I recommend the same shows every Monday, but I just can’t help it. I simply adore Castle, and each week, I find myself loving it even more, even when an episode isn’t perfect. Last week was all about the Real Housewives of…-type “reality” show and a murder of one of the cast members. I abhor those types of shows, but watching the investigation into the murder of one of the fake show’s cast members was a lot of fun, mainly because of the great guest cast. I loved when Castle was able to tell what kind of knife it was and how expensive it was, and I loved when they burst in on the couple in the middle of sex. The son was a spineless numbnut who couldn’t stand up to his mother, and because of that, his fiancee killed the woman he really loved. But how much fun was Gates thinking Castle was trying to come on to her or get on her good side? Of course, the swoony part was Beckett’s gift to Castle being a drawer at her place. It was a huge step for her, and it made me tear up, like seriously.

I have been looking forward to tonight’s episode for a few weeks, since I first read about it. It’s part one of a two-part episode, and this is going to put a real strain on Castle, Beckett, and their relationship, as well as his relationship with the rest of the squad, I believe. Although the episode description below doesn’t explain why, you’ll see early on. It will be a tense, dramatic, and fun two episodes this week and next! I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it’s fantastic, emotional, and full of surprises. So much fun!

On tonight’s episode, “Target,” in the first of a two-episode story arc, Castle & Beckett begin a murder investigation that also exposes a plot to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy Middle Eastern businessman. Dylan Walsh (Unforgettable, Nip/Tuck) guest stars as FBI Agent Harris, an even-keeled professional brought in to help find the kidnappers.

If you’re a fan of the show or have been thinking of watching, do not miss it tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ Clicker.
