If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/11/12

The temperatures are cooling down, leaves are changing, and television is heating up with new shows—exactly how I like it! Last night, we watched both the winners of Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef, and I was incredibly happy with the results of both shows. Let’s see if tonight’s shows can compare. [Note from Jenny: Today is an important day. Please take a moment to remember all the lives lost and changed because of the terrorist attack on U.S. soil eleven years ago on 9/11. Whether you’re from the U.S. or not, everyone across the globe was affected in one way or another because of that day, so don’t forget to give your loved ones a hug and take just a moment to remember. Thank you.]

The Voice premiered last night with some awesome auditions, reminding me again why I love this show—of course, the sexiness that is Adam Levine doesn’t hurt, either. 😉 (Don’t worry, Blake… I see you, too!) I love kicking back and watching the audition process and the bickering between the judges. It makes for great television but also for easy viewing to relax to. I love that at the end of a long day.

On tonight’s episode, “Blind Auditions Premiere, Part 2,” we’ll watch more hopefuls sing their hearts out, hoping to be placed on one of the teams.

To see how the teams are stacking up, tune in to NBC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Voice @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing So You Think You Can Dance, Go On, and The New Normal.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/4/12

You have to love a Tuesday that’s a Monday… Ok, you don’t really. lol But luckily, that means for most of us, it’s a short week, and there’s plenty on TV tonight to take your mind off the fact that it’s a Tuesday-Monday. 😉 So check out what we think you can’t miss tonight.

As much as Covert Affairs is pissing me off right now, I still can’t help but recommend it because I have GOT to have faith that it will all work out. I HATE the Annie/Simon relationship. I HATE Lena because she’s made Annie into almost a rogue agent…and someone I’m having a hard time respecting or liking at the moment. I have a feeling it’s all going to bite her in the ass at some point, and I almost want to say I hope it does. She needs a wake up call, and soon. Then we have the growing tension between Joan and Arthur, poor Auggie has been relegated to nothing but a character dealing with relationship issues and the fallout from that. I want the strong, confident Auggie that had Annie’s back and was a central part of every episode. 🙁 Still, I have a feeling the next couple of episodes are going to be GOOOOOD, so I’m crossing my fingers!

On tonight’s episode, “Glass Spider,” after it’s discovered that Jai was investigating Simon Fischer when he was killed, bringing Simon in becomes Arthur’s top priority. In the hopes of protecting Simon, Annie requests that she be allowed to bring him in herself. Sarah Clarke and Richard Coyle guest star.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hell’s Kitchen, America’s Got Talent, MasterChef, Coma, Chopped, Counting Cars, & 19 Kids & Counting.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/28/12

I know there is a full moon coming later this week, but you would think judging by my children’s wild behaviour that it was already here! Seriously, it’s like an episode of Buffy and some demons possessed them—I am not kidding. Wish me luck! In the meantime, let’s look at some television we can watch tonight while I finishing gluing together the lamp my youngest broke.

People are going to start thinking I have a crush on Gordon Ramsay, seeing as I have been recommending his shows a lot. While I find Ramsay incredibly amusing and totally sexy, I find MasterChef to be edge-of-my-seat television. Last week, when Monte went home, I cried. True story. I really enjoyed her, and I loved it when she really kicked ass and made people notice her as more than just a stay-at-home mom. Sad to see her go, but excited that we’re nearing the end of the competition. I’m rooting for Josh now because I think at the end of the day, he has a lot of talent and the drive to succeed in the food industry.

On tonight’s episode, “Top 4 Compete,” the cooks split into two teams to prepare a meal for the judges and three respected chefs; the cooks on the losing team compete against each other.

To see which chefs make the Top 3, tune in to FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of MasterChef @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also watching America’s Got Talent and Storage Wars (don’t judge me 😉 ).

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/21/12

I swear, some days, it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed. Yesterday was one of those days. It was truly a Monday—and I don’t have a lot of those. Hopefully, today will be better. There’s some great stuff on tonight, though, so even if the day isn’t great, the evening should be fantastic. So let’s see what we think you should be watching. 🙂

Last week, we got to see the results of Auggie’s arrest. Arthur bailed him out and then sent him back to his old job—which is great for Annie/Auggie viewers since it means both Auggie & Annie are back to working for Joan. Of course, nothing ran smoothly. He had to go see a therapist, finally realizing it may be something he actually needs, not just something that he can blow off anymore. Annie went on a mission with Eyal, and though I loved seeing him again, I didn’t like finding out he’s evaluating Annie for the CIA… For whom? Joan? No… Lena? Maybe. And when Eyal questioned Annie about being in a relationship…you have to wonder about her reaction. Was she thinking of Auggie? Or has she truly developed feelings for Simon? I think it’s Simon, but damn, I hope I’m wrong.

On tonight’s episode, “Hello, Stranger,” Annie is faced with a considerable number of risks and warnings from the State Department when she makes an attempt to turn the prime minister of Yemen’s chief of staff into a new asset for the CIA.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/14/12

It’s been a piss poor few days around my house, as none of us are feeling great—my new 9th grader feeling the worst of the three of us. 🙁 So I may not actually get stuff watched tonight, but my DVR is busy nonetheless. Check out what we think you should be watching. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice #1

The last new episode of Rizzoli & Isles was kind of a heartbreaker for Jane and Frankie because one of the guys they knew growing up was killed. When they learned that his brothers—the other members of his “boy band”—had killed him, the heartbreak just wratcheted up a notch. I think my favorite part of the episode, though, had to be Maura listening to and watching the victim and his brothers sing and perform while she performed an autopsy on him. It was just an incredibly sad episode, and not just on the case front. Angela found out that Lydia had slept with her ex-husband (husband at the time? I don’t know..) and son both and wasn’t sure which was the father of her baby. Angela was understandably hurt, and at first, she was almost more upset at Jane and Frankie, who knew but didn’t tell her. She started to move out, but they convinced her she had nothing to be ashamed about, that it was all their father’s fault and not hers, and she stayed, gathering the two of them and Maura in a group hug that was very sweet.

Tonight is the summer finale. I don’t know when it will be back on, but I assume in January or thereabouts. I hope the mid-season ends on a good note for Frankie, who thinks he bombed his detective’s interview, and for the whole Rizzoli family, what with a possible grandbaby or half-sibling on the way.

In tonight’s episode, “Melt My Heart to Stone,” a statue breaks open to reveal a dead woman inside; the squad gets a new homicide detective; Dennis Rockmond returns to Boston and tries to woo Maura; Lydia goes into labor.

Don’t miss it tonight on TNT at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Rizzoli & Isles @ Clicker.
