If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/6/13

Dang, August is flying by. It’s hard to believe we’re already 6 days in. My kiddo is counting down his last week before school starts. I can’t say I’m not doing the same thing. 😉 What about you? Are you enjoying the last few weeks of summer? However you’re spending it, spend at least some of it in front of the TV because of how many great shows are on tonight. We’re here to make some recommendations for what you can choose, so read on to find out what those are. 🙂

rizzoliisles86smallLast week’s Rizzoli & Isles was actually really funny. Jane had a run-in—literally—with a woman at the coffee shop, and the woman sued her. The department wouldn’t stand behind her because she wasn’t technically on the clock, being that it was 7:59, not 8:00. In the end, it was Jane’s apartment maintenance man and his girlfriend, and it was a setup so Jane would have to sell her apartment and the girlfriend could buy it cheap. As for the case of the week, it was kind of sad, with an elderly man being set up for the murder of his friend. Luckily, the group figured it out and were able to help the guy out. It was hard to watch him talk to Jane because you just had to feel sorry for him.

On tonight’s episode, “All for One,” a popular high school teacher is killed in a hit and run that is clearly no accident. The squad works to solve the case, but Jane is preoccupied with Lt. Martinez’s apparent favoritism toward his own drug unit. Amaury Nolasco guest stars.

Find out why the teacher was killed tonight on TNT at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing So You Think You Can Dance, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, America’s Got Talent, Capture, Covert Affairs, & Chopped.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/26/13

Thank goodness it’s Tuesday. *snicker* My kiddo heads back to school today after his week home for spring break. To make it all the sweeter, there’s some great television on tonight, so we’re here to give you our oh-so-humble recommendations. 😉

ncis326smallLeon Vance is absolutely killing me with heartbreak on NCIS. His search to find a nanny just hammered home how broken up his is still about his wife’s death. Speaking of heartbreaking, last week’s case was one of the saddest things I’ve seen on that show ever. The dog lying down after his handler had been shot just made me sob. Then when the dog was shot, and again at the end, when the wife was sitting with Gibbs at her husband’s funeral, and the dog came over and Gibbs told her he was retired and she could keep him… All around, I cried for most of the episode. It was great.

The promos for this episode make it look like it’s going to be another good one. I love McGee, and it’s going to focus on him more than the others for a change. It should be fun. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Squall,” a massive storm brings the NCIS team aboard the USS Borealis, where everyone becomes a suspect once the crime scene proves that Mother Nature wasn’t the only culprit. Tension builds when McGee discovers that his estranged father, Navy Admiral John McGee, was on board during the incident. Jamey Sheridan (Homeland, Law & Order: CI), Joel Gretsch (V, The 4400), Reggie Austin (Life UneXpected, The Starter Wife), & Zane Holtz (Make It or Break It) guest star.

See how things go between McGee and his father tonight on CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS @ TV.com.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hell’s Kitchen, 19 Kids & Counting, Dancing with the Stars, NCIS: LA, The New Normal, Cougar Town, Justified, Robot Combat League, & Body of Proof.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/15/13

I couldn’t believe there was Easter stuff in the stores already right beside the Valentine’s Day stuff… Can we not get a short break before we jump at it again? I’m not ready to shop for another holiday yet—although I do love Mini Eggs. 🙂 While I think about getting some yummy mini eggs, let’s see what you should be watching tonight.

ncis115smallIt’s been a slow season for NCIS—at least in my opinion—but last week’s episode drastically changed that. The death of Ziva’s father was so heartbreaking, especially because it’s so rare to see her display such extreme emotion. Tony and Ziva have been skirting around a relationship for ages, so I’m hopeful that this time of grief will cause her to finally lean on Tony a bit.

On tonight’s episode, “Shiva,” the team searches for answers after a tragedy hits close to home.

To see if the team can bind together during difficult times, tune into CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Hart of Dixie, NCIS: LA, New Girl, The Mindy Project, and Go On.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/31/12

First, we here at TV Is My Pacifier would like to send our thoughts and prayers to all those who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy—we are truly sorry for all you’ve lost. Now onto happier things, such as wishing you all a safe and happy Halloween! (I will take any unwanted peanut butter cups mailed to me… Please!) Finally, the reason you’re all here reading my rambling—our menu for what you should be watching tonight if you’re smart enough to follow our lead. Let’s check it.

Criminal Minds has been throwing us a few curve balls as of late, the latest being Reid being in love with a girl that he’s only spoken to on the phone. I was so interested to learn more about this situation that I almost forgot why we were here to begin with—to solve a case. What a case it was last week, too! A man who was desperately trying to figure out a way to give his wife a new leg started kidnapping people to practice leg transplants—yes, it was as sick as it sounded, and I found myself so creeped out that I was turning away from the screen on many occasions. What an intense episode, but in the end, Reid’s secret lover helped solve the case, but we are still in the dark about her.

On tonight’s episode, “The Good Earth,” when four men from Oregon go missing, the team searches for a common link; JJ is upset when her son doesn’t want to celebrate Halloween.

To see if the team figures it out before the missing count goes up, tune into CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The X Factor, CSI, Chicago Fire, Suburgatory, Survivor, Arrow, Guys with Kids, and Law & Order: SVU.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/21/12

I swear, some days, it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed. Yesterday was one of those days. It was truly a Monday—and I don’t have a lot of those. Hopefully, today will be better. There’s some great stuff on tonight, though, so even if the day isn’t great, the evening should be fantastic. So let’s see what we think you should be watching. 🙂

Jenny’s Choice

Last week, we got to see the results of Auggie’s arrest. Arthur bailed him out and then sent him back to his old job—which is great for Annie/Auggie viewers since it means both Auggie & Annie are back to working for Joan. Of course, nothing ran smoothly. He had to go see a therapist, finally realizing it may be something he actually needs, not just something that he can blow off anymore. Annie went on a mission with Eyal, and though I loved seeing him again, I didn’t like finding out he’s evaluating Annie for the CIA… For whom? Joan? No… Lena? Maybe. And when Eyal questioned Annie about being in a relationship…you have to wonder about her reaction. Was she thinking of Auggie? Or has she truly developed feelings for Simon? I think it’s Simon, but damn, I hope I’m wrong.

On tonight’s episode, “Hello, Stranger,” Annie is faced with a considerable number of risks and warnings from the State Department when she makes an attempt to turn the prime minister of Yemen’s chief of staff into a new asset for the CIA.

Don’t miss it tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Covert Affairs @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, MasterChef, HGTV Design All Stars, Chopped, All the Right Moves, & Counting Cars.
