It’s Sunday, which means it’s still part of the weekend. I hope your weekend has been better than mine so far, though! I realized yesterday, one of my upper molars was crumbling, and went to a dentist that I was lucky enough to find open on a Saturday. After taking 6 x-rays (2 on the wrong side… I thought it was weird, but figured they were taking both sides! lol and then a lower and 3 on the upper—because the first 2 didn’t get far enough back!), he came in and said, “Sure enough, it’s infected. We can either take it out or fix it so you can keep the tooth.” I was like, “Well, yeah, I want to keep my tooth! I’m only 34! I’m not old enough to start losing my teeth!” Turns out, that means a root canal… Oh. Fun… lol
So that’s what I have to look forward to on Tuesday. I’m worried about the procedure and recovery, sure (although I’ve been told it’s really not that bad now compared to what it used to be, and I already have a script for some good meds if I need them…), but mainly, I’m worried about the cost. We have some dental insurance, but it only covers 50%. So on top of back to school stuff for my son and tags & taxes on our car, we now have possibly another grand to pay for this damn dental stuff. *sigh* So not a fun weekend!
Megan and Kyle are still in San Diego at Comic-Con, so both of them are taking the first few days of this week off. Lisa & I will be covering some, but for their recommendations, I’ll just list em. I don’t have the time or energy to write up everything myself right now! lol Now, let’s see what’s on tonight to keep my mind occupied, shall we?
Jenny’s Choice #1
Falling Skies is a show that not only myself, but also Kyle want to recommend. Last week’s “Sanctuary Pt. 1” was fantastic. We got some scary insight from Ben into the skitters, and I don’t know about you, but I’m worried there’s something wrong with him. Physically, of course, but also mentally. I’m worried he developed a case of Stockholm Syndrome or something, and that at the first opportunity, he’ll “willingly” go back to them. Whether it’s because of whatever he was drugged with, or some sort of brainwashing, I don’t know. But something isn’t right, and I’m worried that could lead to a lot of pain for Tom and his other sons. We also saw the kids from 2nd Mass go off with the guy from 7th Mass, supposedly to get away before the aliens found their hideout. But then we learned that the guy in charge of 7th Mass is providing the skitters with kids. I have my own theories—like he’s giving them kids from other groups so the skitters don’t take kids from his own—but I’d love to hear what you think! We also learned that Pope is alive and…well, not necessarily WELL, but alive, at any rate. The leader of 7th Mass is holding him prisoner, and Pope is the one that gave up 2nd Mass’ position and told him they were rescuing kids. Tonight is the conclusion to this 2-part episode, and from everything I’ve read, it’s far from a disappointment!
On tonight’s episode, “Sanctuary Pt. 2,” Hal and the other youth that have sought refuge at the farm begin to suspect that the security that has lured them there is only a temporary facade with a terrible hidden horror lurking behind its humble and gentle appeal.
Tune it to TNT at 10/9c to see if Hal can lead the group to safety. Learn where to find episodes online of Falling Skies @ Clicker.
